I am not a 16 white burg lover in general but have had good experience with Leflaive (Folatieres) in the vintage before and here again this bottle showed really very well indeed. Good cut and energy, time was very kind it developed a racy grapefruit note with extended aeration. Lovely.

Grand Cru quality and concentration here. Youthful and primary but it's all there -- rich fruit with some tropical, spice and mineral hints, layering, purity and seamlessness. Outstanding and just a little early.

My and most of the group’s WOTN. Struck match nose. Honeysuckle, lemon buscuit finish. A bit more refined and concentrated than the Folateries. Still seemed a bit young. 95

The nose is greeted by exquisite white peach fruit. There's a gentle squeeze of lemon too. In the mouth it is so silky. It has great volume and power without any weight. It builds in the glass and is a supremely classy wine that drives on and on.

Light to medium body, perfect balance and harmony. Very crisp and focused, with wonderful fruit and floral flavors and complexity into the long finish.

Flinty and tropical on the nose. Bright fruit and lifted aromatics. Medium weight on the palate with medium plus acid and a solid core of fruit. Delicious and thoroughly enjoyable now. It will ad some weight in time so wait another couple years before trying again.

La Paulée de NY Grand Tasting (Pier 60 - NYC): The crown jewel in today's line up. Fantastic nose with so much layering of intense smoke, florals and spice on top of the orchard fruit. Rich and concentrated with fresh acids and minerality. Bright finish. Delicious now and should be even better with 5+ years. 93+

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty - New York NY): Tasting, brief note. Rich stone fruit with ripe apple and complex spice and textures, making this already charming as well as complex. Seemed to show Grand Cru density to me. Very impressive wine, very cellar worthy.

La Paulée 2019 Grand Tasting of 2016 Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): More high toned nose with orange zest. Better acidity although not high. Less wood than the Clavoillons. Amazing glycerine, great feel in the mouth, lemon fruit, excellent length. Much more classic Puligny. I liked the Clavoillons, but I loved this.

Wonderfully rich and complex aromas with citrus fruit, buttery feeling and light smoke. Pretty full-bodied wine with a delicious fruit feeling of citrus, apple peel, and with delicious spice. Linear and not too fat. Nicely acidic cut and great balance. Lovely mineral finish. Great wine with definitive Grand Cru stuffing. 94 points.

Richness with tension. Loaded with powerful stone fruit flavours. There’s great drive and near perfect balance. The finish is strewn with geological matter.

Wine Dinner at Atlas. No notes. Amazing experience/education in Burgundy (and others). This wine was very young however provided a very enjoyable experience in the glass. Nice density, blossom bouquet and what may be the beginning of a subtle but present richness. Very nice now but would really look forward to trying again in another year or two.

The grandest, classiest, and most closed of the 1er range in '16, this has massive potential but it will take a few years to begin to show its stuff. Yet even now this is dense, concentrated, and beautifully textured.

Burgundy, Bordeaux, and California - Dujac, PYCM, Lafon, Carillon, Niellon, Lafite, Latour, Mayacamas, Montelena, Mondavi, and more: At first I got cotton candy and heat on the finish, but after about an hour it totally metamorphosized. In the end this was flintier, and much better balanced. Whether it was air or temperature or both, big change here. I quite liked the wine it became.

Fragrant, very sweet. Less showy than grand crus or lesser 1er for now.
