PnP. Light greenish gold. Citrus, lemon/lime, sea air on the nose. Really lovely spherical presentation on the palate; elegant but intense. This is really classic. I miss a bit of the exotic character this has in some vintages but that may develop with time. Drinking well but not rush.

Killer GC Chablis, intense green apple, jolly rancher, asian pear, chalk, intense on the palate and long juicy persistent finish. Excellent. DD Blind 1982-2005 Bordeaux 1st Growth dinner at BOA steakhouse starter wines.

I love Chablis. I am not sure it's a bargain any more but the wines are just so elegant. And this one is no exception.
Visual: color is a pale lemon, not very intense Nose: moderate aromaticity, primary fruit of citrus, lemongrass, honeysuckle; no discernable secondary flavors Palate: dry, high acid, no tannin, med-high alcohol, matches nose, emphasis on a melon note
Overall: very good to outstanding Balance - outstanding Flavor complexity - very good Finish - really long Flavor intensity - strong
This is a really excellent wine and I am glad I have a lot of it

I love Fevre Chablis & this delivers. Love the hints of spice & wood on the nose. Well balanced fruit, mix of saline semi tropical fruit. The limestone soil shines through with sea shell, saline, steely profile. This Chablis shines.

Almost 2 years since my last bottle. A good but not great Chablis. White fruit, chalk and some green notes. Round but not overly rich but still lacking minerality. A reflection of the 2016 vintage I think. Can for sure keep many years but I doubt this will improve.

Tasted over 2 hrs -translucent light gold -citrus mineral mild reduction brown spice -med+ acidity, med- weight a gentle pineapple not sits atop tangy bitter grapefruit mineral running across the entire palate through to the finish where it dominates -the ripeness comes through with a tropical note yet freshness acidity and minerality are maintained, this needs more time to gain some complexity and settle down a bit

This is good, but still needs some positive development for me as its a bit ripe and lacking some freshness. The nose initially starts a bit tropical, but then transitions to more citrus and orchard with some sea breeze. Not quite the classic minerality that I want but close. I left this for a day and came back it was really about the same. Not much development and didn't really liven up like I was hoping. The depth/concentration are solid, but I would like just a little more minerality and drive.

First bottle of this vintage. Fresh cut green apples, some Pear notes, citrus with a long finish. Med+ acidity. Paired well with our various selections of seafood, etc. Mother-in-Law Birthday dinner at BeetleCat (Atlanta).

Ripe citrus and oyster shells. Perfectly balanced with beautiful acidity. A tiny bit of sweetness tries to come through the minerals and salinity, but the wine comes across as very dry in the end. So much soil influence, this is like rolling pebbles and oyster shells in your mouth. An intellectual wine that you want to drink by itself.

Even though young, this Chablis has already become an elegant lady. Pear and some florals. Granny Smith undertone but subdued by lemon and pear, to the wine’s benefit.

Ummm…. This is showing a little bortrytis and the nose isn’t what I like to see in Grand cru Chablis, or any Chablis for that matter…oak. Not my cup of tea, disappointing actually. Lost a lot of freshness and zip, lacks tension. This wine reminds me why Raveneau/Dauvissat are light years ahead of the rest. Won’t resolve with time either, just doesn’t have the magic for me.

Jasper on Terroir: Chablis Grands Crus (67 Pall Mall TV): Fevre have a special part of Bougros: the steepest vineyard in Chablis, with plenty of minerality, which is vinified separately from the wine from the plateau. South-facing, but the nearby Serein retains freshness in the grapes.
Attractive pale lemon. Soft, vaguely silken perfumes, with tropical fruit and some steel behind that. Some pine resin and sea breeze coming through. Nose is absolutely intoxicating. Delicious tension on the palate, with good persistence and an attractive combination of citrus, salinity and something mealy.

94-95(+?)pts. Drank together with sockeye salmon and gorgonzola risotto we prepared at home to commemorate my 10th wedding anniversary. I had tasted this very same wine in LA in 2019, and it was better at that occasion than this time around (I graded that bottle 96+). Lots of minerality here as expected, with a light-medium body and great spiciness and length. Almost no fruit, with notes of pear, green apple and lime. Should have decanted it before consumption. Recommended.

Tasted over 2 hrs -translucent nearly colorless pale straw green -shy aromas have Chablis typicity but also some herbal floral and tropical elements -med acidity is well-buffered by abundant sap, med weight softer textured than most vintages but not quite flabby mid-palate boasting roasted lemon mineral saline and an almost sweet pineapple note on the finish -good but not quite as much cut, power and complexity this usually brings

First of 3 and definitely could use some more time in bottle; that said with about 2 hours of air this was still quite good; served with swordfish and a piccata sauce; the nose here was reticent, but slowly opened to show sea breeze, lemon peel, crushed stone, acacia blossom, pear, green apple, and iodine. The palate has excellent density and very good energy. Thoroughly enjoyable with upside for the next 5+ years.

Pnp and drank over 2 days. Consistent with my last bottle 3 months ago, this is a solid Chablis but really nothing exciting. Again this green note, some acidity and a touch of oak. This is round on the palate but lacks both energy/tension and minerality. I suspect that these are simply the trademarks of the 2016 vintage in Chablis. Go for 2017 instead. 91

Pnp after a 2017 Lavantureux Fourchaume 1er. Very round and broad upon opening but not particularly expressive or accurately drawn. The touch of oak is clearly visible in this GC. I saw this initially definitively below the much cheaper 1er preceding it, but the Fevre seemed to improve with more air. On day 2 from the open bottle, the has nicely integrated however now showing a clear green streak, Sauvignon Blanc like. A very good but not great Chablis in my eyes. Let's see how this develops. 92+

2018 Visit to Domaine William Fèvre with Alain Marcuello (Chablis): “Here the soil is limited, shallow, the site is close to the river”, noted Alain. Élevage 70% in oak. A breezy, fine bouquet of citrus, slate, chalk and flint. Also finer and more precise on palate. “Tighter, and more focussed than the Bougros”, said Mark. Racy, sparkling acidity. Plenty of dry extract, minerality and drive. The second best wine of the day. Hold for 5-6 years and it will, if it survives premox, last 20+ years. Euros 62.

Has tightened considerably and is seriously flinty, with lads of oyster shell action on the nose. It is deep, dense and sappy and the geological matter flows onto the palate. The finish has a squeeze of lemon and chalky feel. A big wine that is delicious now because of its excellent balance, but crying out for a bit of bottle age.

Round and rich on the nose. They own 50 percent. One wine is south facing. Second part is this. Steep slope all by hand. And close to the river. More minerality and acidity. No clay, only chalk. A wine for Chablis lovers. Very fine this vintage indeed. Chalk only. No clay because it’s too steep.
