Group dinner with Marvin (The Kenwood): This wine also seemed like a modern napa cab, and was not consistent with previous Raymond Generations that I've had. Quite straight forward with a lot of fruit, the alcohol is peaking through, and not as much savory qualities.

P: Tons of heat, partially integrated deep earth, dark red and black fruits, a nice warming spice and tea on finish.
The heat makes me wonder am I getting to these wines a little late.. tasted like it was at the right temp, I mean it was ~30° outside, the wine shouldn't have been that much at a warmer temp.

Friendly get-together - Big CA Wines!: Always a nice wine and shows off the 2016 vintage well....great fruit and enough acid and tannins to age. Drink now for hedonistic pleasure or hold for additional tertiary nuances. Plenty of dark fruit (black and blue) on the nose and palate. Nose also shows some florals and some cedar notes. Mouthfeel is plush and finish is medium. This is a very nice wine, but I enjoyed the Haber HM more! A solid 93 right now, and may get better!

Dinner with Marvin (The Kenwood, Mpls, MN): Saturated, very dark red/purple color. Drank a small glass over an hour. Young yet showing nicely, Cedar, blackberry, blueberry, lush and fruity, full bodied, balanced. Should be crowd pleaser.

Pop and pour blind. Young but delicious with fine tannins, some capsicum that quickly blew off, focused but restrained palate of blackcurrant and loamy earth. A beautiful wine that's priced reasonably for its quality and with room for improvement.

Nose The wine exhibits pronounced developing primary aromas of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, red currant, chocolate, cassis, dried savory herbs and secondary aromas of vanilla, cedar, and tobacco leaf.
Palate The wine is dry with a full body, high acid, high tannins, and high alcohol exhibiting pronounced developing primary flavors of blackberry, black currant, black cherry, mocha, minerals, dusty stones and secondary flavors of vanilla, and tobacco with a long finish.
Conclusion The quality of this wine is very good. Pretty big fruit and excellent acid and tannin levels for a long life. Looking forward to trying this alongside food. And at $89 from my friends at JJ Buckley...a big wine for the price. Life and wine are good!
Three hour decant. Very very deep color. More ruby than magenta. Black cherry, blackberry, marshmallow cream, and violet-infused chocolate on the nose. Super plush, mouth drying palate, with cottony acidity that lingers on the center of the tongue. Firm, medium intensity tannins on the long finish.
This is very nicely built and a very easy drinker, but it’s just a touch simple, which prevents a higher score for me.
