PnP. No decant needed any more. Very aromatic with black fruits, anise, chocolate, herb, cedar, and currant. Layers of flavor with dark fruits, cassis, herb, cedar, chocolate, and espresso. Medium body with soft tannins in a long finish. Showing very well now, but lots of life left.

From Magnum. Celebrating having the family together for Thanksgiving, this was a pop and pour and enjoyed greatly by all during the preparation of Thanksgiving diner. Cocoa and cherry flavour profile, mild tannin but not completely resolved, likely due to format. Many have said drink up on this bottle and with 750's that may be wise, but mag's of the 07 are doing well and I think have a few years to go before this goes beyond my preference into declining maturity.

Double decanted for 90 minutes, then back in bottle and overnight in the fridge. Opaque red. Bright berry nose. Bright red fruit with a hint of blackberry and tobacco. Just a bit of heat. Fine tannins, good acidity and balance. Finishes long and gentle with dark fruits. Seems just a bit hard. Past peak a bit but still quite drinkable.

Nose of leather and earth thru out. Taste was all black cherry and red fruit. Delicious!! The tannins were so soft as non existent but the finish was full of a nice acidity that made it all worth it. Great wine!!

Boom! Opened this beauty with dinner with great friends. Within seconds of this wine being decanted the air filled with the magical scent of a nicely preserved cab from a great vintage! Nose of cassis, dark cherries, chocolate and a hint of oak. This clear, dark ruby, medium to full bodied cab was as pretty in the glass as it was on the nose. Flavors of dark fruit, cassis, and chocolate filled the mouth. Been a while since I had an aged cab in this price category with this much to offer!!! Hoped it would be really good. Didn't expect it to be great! In a perfect place! Don't be afraid to DRINK NOW!!!!

Ageing nicely, though likely at its peak or a bit beyond. Medium weight. Soft tannins and glyceriney fruit with a pleasant lightish berry finish. Not profound. Drink now.

Decanted for one hour. Aromas of blackberry, currant, chocolate and spice. Black fruit, milk chocolate, crushed rock and spice on the palate. Long finish. Full bodied. Served with grilled strip steaks and mustard cream sauce.

Drank with Mark and Jondra - It paired well with Burmese cuisine. Color and Clarity were nice. The wine was soft and had good berry flavors from start to end. The finish was nice but short. The age of the wine was a factor but it was still really nice. Just not complex or bold.

Absolutely delicious ! Brought to RPM Steak (Chicago) and decanted about 45 minutes before enjoying. Wonderful, complex nose. Delicious with plenty of structure, smooth tannins and a super long finish. Paired perfectly with dry aged NY Strip. This wine has plenty of life left, but no reason to wait !

PnP tasting. Excellent from the moment it was opened. Full-bodied with smooth tannins, excellent balance and low acidity. Rich and dark with lots of dark fruit. Drinking very well right now with no signs of slowing down!
Opened a 2013 Pride CS to compare. Fun to taste the differences. While not overly aged and still with lots of fruit, it’s amazing how much smoother, less acidic and balanced the ‘07 is compared to the ‘13.
Rest is decanting. Update more later if it changes significantly.

No formal notes, but delicious with grilled lamb on vacation in northern Michigan. Too bad it’s the last bottle - while it may not get better, it showed no signs of slowing down.

I think the note putting end range of this wine in 2019 is wrong. I think it’s only now really aging. I’d put it more 2025-2030. If I had another bottle I’d wait. Fruits are cherry Icee along with anise and some toasted oak. Acid is plenty high to let this age further.
I agree with others this is on the back end of its drinking window, if not past it. Decanted 2.5 hours. Big mountain fruit turning to dust and pencil lead.

Not sure I agree with so many of these others saying it's past prime. Tons of fruit left. Dusty fine tannins suggest it probably won't hold for a terribly long time beyond now but I think it'll drink well for another 5 years. It was quite oaky, but integrated better after being open for a few hours. Had a glass on day 2 and it held up great.

Coravin'd this the night before prime rib dinner. Cellartracker community concluded this was past it's prime, but I disagree with my first taste. Still fantastic.

Clear, medium (+) to deep ruby with a deep garnet hue on the rim and thick, dark, glass-staining legs. The nose is clean*, complex, with aromas of black currant, black cherry, stewed plums, dried red flowers, leather, mocha and sweet baking spices. The nose is still developing, with a beautiful woodsy note from the new oak barrique. The palate is dry, but with the fruit still prevalent and a rich and creamy mouthfeel. The acidity is medium and the tannins are medium to (+) and very silky. The alcohol is high at 14.6% but is well integrated and unobtrusive. This is a full-bodied, generous wine, with medium (+) flavor intensity and a long finish. It is undoubtedly New World in style, but demonstrates nice balance and harmoniousness. I don't think it is likely to improve much with further aging, but it is not means near the end of its trajectory. It only garnered an 88 by WS in 2010, but I respectfully disagree.
* At first the nose appeared to have a slight a slight oxidative note, but that dissipated. A slight volatile acidity also manifested and then quickly dissipated. The wine actually showed better a couple of nights after being opened. In conclusion, I would decant it for a couple of hours before serving.
PnP. Dark color with no signs of browning or lightening. The nose wasn't giving much - perhaps a warm cherry compote with a touch of sandalwood. Palate was smooth with a bit of weight, like half and half. Fresh blackberries and some cocoa on the finish. Solid wine.

Similar to prior l bottle earlier this year. Tea on the nose, comes across like a well aged bordeaux on the palate, but I would expect an 11-year-old Bordeaux to have more depth, structure and life than this is showing at present.
Nice wine but past its peak and glad that this was my final bottle.

Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Dark core with garnet rim; cassis, vanilla, high toned, New World, blackberry, juicy, sappy and dense, juicy red but mainly dark fruit; was in Sonoma; good but tough for this group.

Took this to a wine-centric party where there were a boatload of "serious" wines, many of which were more expensive than the Pride. As usual, many people declared it WOTN, and it was the first bottle to be emptied. Flat-out delicious, although the relative absence of tannins suggest that it's past its peak.

Pop & decant & consume in comparison to 2007 Pride with Flannery rib steaks. It was a good night. The HL took longer to open up than the Pride, but both were delicious. HL a little more subdued but I think that was to be expected. I do not see either of these improving.

Not surprisingly, it was virtually identical to a bottle I opened about a month earlier. Ridiculously rich and decadent. However, the softness of the tannins make it less-than-ideal for consumption with really hearty foods and suggest that it's getting close to "drink up" time.

Drank as part of a vertical, (06, 07, 08). Opened 20 minutes before dinner. Like the 06 is drinking very well right now. It has similar balance of dark fruit and softened tannins, but is a little lighter and brighter than the 06. Should continue to drink well for several more years.

Opened about 90 minutes before tasting. Extremely dark color, with no signs of age. The nose practically leaped out of the glass - miscellaneous black and blue berries with hints of smoke and forest floor. Same berries (not plums or cherries) on the palate. Ridiculously rich. Wonderful long finish driven by both humongous fruit and a lot of viscosity. Pretty well balanced right now, but the tannins are almost soft. Probably best within the next year.

Classic napa nose with notes of cassis, raspberry and a touch of graphite. Well integrated int he mouth, tannins resolved and vibrant fruit. Very nice! Thrown into the decanter for 1 hr, then put back in the bottle and cosumed over 2 hours.

Not decanted, followed over three hours. Very much a Bordeaux profile; tea, old faint wood, pencil shavings and light fruit on the nose. Muted red and dark fruit flavors are quickly followed by a dusty finish that provides nice layering. As you get towards the bottom of the bottle there's very faint settlement. One more bottle left, this might be slightly past the heart of its window but is still solid. Should be consumed no later than 2018.

Fragrance of leather; tobacco. Taste of currant and blackberry. Acidity is slightly elevated, but a smooth lasting finish is obtained. A very pronounced Cabernet. Drink with grilled meats like beef. This wine only has 3 - 4 years left, so drink now.

This wine brought back memories to a time in my wine life, when Bob Foley's involvement - past or present - in any winery/wine, was enough for me to shell out the required tariff but doing so, knowing that I had something enjoyable if not special ahead of me. This occasion, was no different. Although the big, chunky fruit is far from my current style choice, it showed consistent with my countless, past experiences with the bottling, dating back to the mid-90's. This still had some time left but is/was likely not to get any better. Drink it if you've got it and enjoy!

In a solid spot. Well balanced. Nose of black licorice, darker fruit and plum. Very nice. Palate is lean, with nice acidity. Good weight and concentration with persistence through a nice finish. To me, much more going on here than 07 Alpha Omega we had last night. Not QPR by any stretch, at $66, but this is a solid Cali Cab at a reasonable price point.

The wine is in a great place and has many years of life left. There is great fruit and some sugar still there even though it's nine years old now. It's not overwhelming though and not sweet in any way, just a good cab.

Pnp from a half bottle. Rich and delicious, this wine still tastes vibrant and juicy, with tannins initially a bit too pronounced. Became smoother and more balanced with time in the glass. The 2018 drink-by date is very conservative, it needs more time or a lot of air.

Decanted 3+ hours. Dark fruit on the nose. Tannins were tame, full bodied. Very interesting cassis and blueberry on the palate, quite smooth. Paired awesome with hickory grilled rib eyes - when sipping with the rib eye in my mouth I got a very rich, delicious charcoal taste in my mouth that was actually very nice - very happy with my choice of bottles for a Sunday holiday dinner !!!

Young, sweet tannins, a juicy style, notes of cherries, vanilla, my sense is the oak has dominated here and guided the outcome. That's ok, I guess. It's a good wine, but it doesn't make you love it. This is a conflicted review. I'm saying good things and scoring at 90, but I don't love it.

Decanted 90 minutes and the initial tartness melted away. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are fast. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It tastes like toast, oak, vanilla, black currant (cassis) and raspberry. The body is full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Pop and pour over 90 mins. Forest floor, pine needles, funky blue fruit on the nose. Decent grip on the glass. Medium-light weight, more blue fruit with faint vanilla. Modest tannins and a brief finish. Will covarin glass from another bottle to see if this was off or if this is fading. Okay but unimpressed. No rating.

A few years in the cellar hasn't done this wine any favors. I preferred its youthful bombast. Now it has become a bit muted and round. In fact, pretty dull right out of the bottle, but after an hour left alone in the glass it began to open up and reveal some of the powerful fruit that made it more appealing as a youngster. Finished off nicely.

There was some disagreement here but I'm nearly 100% convinced there was something off with this bottle. Big barnyard whiff with some stewed fruit. Palate better, with a nice red and blue fruit core. Acidity is there. This was actually confused for a French Rhone. Could be brett? Maybe something in the decanter infiltrated the wine? Whatever the cause, this did not resemble the California Cab (Napa/Sonoma split) that I remember drinking at the winery.

I really like pride wines but this bottle was a disappointment compared to other bottles. An overpowering alcoholic nose destroyed the currant and Blackfruit profile that Is the signature hallmark of this wine. I noticed it less with my steak, but on its own it was impossible to overlook.

I liked this wine quite a bit in its youth. Poured this, my last bottle, in a decanter and started drinking it after about 10 min. No sign of age on color. Reclusive nose. Just seemed a little flabby on the palate, and showing a lot of oak. Could use a tad more acidity to balance it out. I don't see this one for the long haul, but still could use some time to come together...a little disjointed now...maybe will stay that way.

We love these Pride Cabs. It paired so perfectly with our T-bone steaks its was hard to tell when the steak flavors ended and the wine flavors began. Still has youthful fruit of blueberry and dark cherry, black pepper, a mild sweet chocolate essence and cedar notes. Mild integrated tannins helps all the wonderful flavor linger seductively in your mouth.

South Charlotte Wine Lovers - Appellation Trail Event (Richard and Lynn's House): We had this early in the evening. I always fear that I am not giving as much benefit to the early wines as i do wines later in the evening. What may have also made it harder for me to score this higher as this it was clearly out-classed by the Sherwin we had alongside (which was kick-ass!)
Mine and Lynn's 6th wine overall. (You know it was a good night with the 6th ranked bottle is still a 92!)

Still beaming with blueberry fruit. Tannins substantially softer than 2 years ago. The sage comes across strongly on the mid-palate. Vanilla bean on the finish. Last bottle, and while it could have gone longer, I feel like I have had these in their prime.

Served blind, the wine offered tell tale ripe, California Cabernet Sauvignon scents of coffee bean, vanilla, jammy boysenberries and licorice with hints of blue fruits. At first, the wine felt hot. With time in the glass, it calmed down, fleshed and became more fun to drink.

Decanted for a 90 minutes before drinking. Very good, displaying predominantly black fruits. Young, but approachable with a nicely balanced tannic structure. Great combination of Napa and Sonoma fruits. Long finish, accentuating mocha and some earthiness. This easily stood up to a big char-grilled ribeye. I would expect this to cellar well for another five to six years.

The 2007 vintage in Napa Valley is really starting to bring us some pleasure. I'm surprised how much this Cabernet resembles the 2007 Caymus Special Select I had the opportunity to taste last night. The vintage exhibits such structured, full bodied wines, that are elegant and so ready to drink, but still age worthy. Everything is integrated and balanced. The color is dark magenta. The nose is plum, blueberry pie, violets, cassis, and vanilla. At first sip, the mouth is immediately coated with almost sweet, very soft and refined, ripe plum, intense blueberry, and blackberry. The fruit is as smooth as I have ever tasted. You can easily imagine the extra sunlight baking these grapes on the top of Spring Mountain. The addition of 12% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot seems to enhance and round things out. There are some civilized, but noticeable mountain style tannins. The oak is doing it's job without being intrusive. The fruit is still dominant, but there are some secondary flavors like caramel, tobacco leaf, and cocoa starting to emerge. The fruity and slightly gritty finish lasted almost half an hour, with more vanilla from oak than was noticeable while tasting.

Fantastic Cab. Inky dark, wonderful nose of classic Cab aromas. Drak berries, leather, etc. Long finish. We decanted for 20 minutes and drank over 1 1/2 hours, kept getting better throughout the night. Drinking wonderfully now, and will likely keep getting better. Outstanding wine.

Really enjoyable; pop and pour while staying at a Residence Inn, and enjoyed with some great Costco steaks and spuds off the grill. Fine-grained tannins give some great depth but concern about this being a good long-term play (ie 7+ years). While the nose is somewhat muted, there's ample chocolate, dark fruit, fine herbs and glycerin "on the way down." Very nice wine, should improve over the coming 2-4 years; that'll be the determinent as to the ultimate longevity of this wine. Potential to reach a 94+. Till then, yummy.

Fathers Day with friends we ooen a few nice wines. BV 93 - Was slighly brown on edge, flavors were nice, suttle. The Hall 07 Cab was significantly different in flavor. Good color plently of life left in the bottle in caparison. The Phelps 06 merlot was a good in between, had oak and good flavor drinking at it's best right now. We finished with the Pride Cabernet which was the best of all. Everything on par. Very enjoyable.

Drank with dinner of meatballs, broccoli and potatoes. Decanted for about 2 hours before drinking, than had over the next two hours. Aroma of big time plum, as well as leather. Taste is heavy on dark fruits of plum and blackberry. Also has some smokiness to the taste. A decent amount of tannins that would be expected from a wine of this age, but not overpowering. It is pleasantly enjoyable now, but seems to have the stuff to go for quite a few years. Probably will show best a few years down the road, but if drinkable now with a 2+ hour decant.

Purchased at the winery. A very dark purple core with no signs of age. Aromas of blackberry, cassis, toasty oak and a hint of spice. Medium to full bodied, good concentration, with rich and jammy fruit on the palate; lacking a bit in terms of focus and complexity. A big wine that drank just fine by itself -- certainly not my style, but I can appreciate it for what it is.

Tastes a little disjointed right now, not the same wine as last April for me. Popped and poured, great color, muted nose. On the palate, you can taste all of the individual parts but the whole is elusive. Nice but shortish finish. While I had supposed this as an early drinker based on my previous tastings, I'm going to back away for a couple of years and see how this comes together.

California Wine Tasting Adventure; 8/2/2010-8/6/2010 (Napa, Sonoma): Tasted at winery. Nice dark color. Dense fruit core. The cedar on the nose is quite prevalent and the wood will need time to integrate, but this is delicious. A touch of red fruit on the nose and attack. Dark concentrated berries on the mid-palate with some olive and tobacco. No noticeable heat. Everything was balanced. It lacked some oomph and concentration through the mid-palate and maybe was a touch on the less complex side. The tannins are fine and already well integrated. Good long finish. We quite liked this.

Very approachable. Fruity -- blackberry, strawberry(?), and ... maybe plum? Tart dark fruit, smoke, chocolate in finish. Perhaps a bit too sweet. Young still. Many tannins. Overall quite nice and drinkable, but would give it a bit longer before drinking again

Pretty solid effort. Full bodied, smoky and chewy. The nose has some smoke and chocolate, the palate big fruit and chewy tannins. Some heat, some oak. If this was an 06 Id been happy for 67 or whatever I ended up paying, but 07? The Caymus regular bottling just blows this out of the water. Good wine, not upset I own another, and certainly has potential to improve, but I couldnt help but feel somewhat dissapointed. Im spoiled.

Very jammy nose of blackberries, cassis and fig. Decanted just enough to make a glass. Needs some more time to breathe. Concentrated, sweet mouthfeel of fuit balanced with minerals but acid/alcohol level a bit high. More earthy than other Napa or Sonomoa cabs I have had, this wine is a bit off center. It is a good wine, just not for $80.

Has its young purple color, the nose takes a while to develop: plum, black berry, and currant. Lush texture w/ glycerin that makes the fruit seem "sweet" . A crowd pleaser kinda like Leonetti. Tasted against an '07 Pine Ridge Howell mtn Cab that was way more tannic...and complex.

Purple like ink. Chocolate, coffee beans, blackberry and vanilla on the nose. Blackberry jam, oak, and cassis. Concentrated and extracted, but drinkable - one glass does not leave you overwhelmed. Tannins are still working themselves out, but it is approachable now. Will become even more elegant as the tannins soften out over time.

Very dark....Nose: Dark berries, toasted oak, espresso, and dark chocalate..A nice nose indeed...Palate: Not much different from the nose..Dark fruit, chocalate and coffee ...Good complexity and well balanced for such a young cab..Concentrated but not over the top...The tannins are big and need some time in the cellar to mellow out....This cab can be enjoyed now but should improve another 2-3 points with some aging...I will revisit this one in a couple years...Cheers!!

This is the second year in a row that there's a bit of oddness for me with the Cabernet. It's a combination of expecting something more rich, and sensing something somewhat akin to a light corking on the palate. Last year, I popped 2 bottles after seriously wondering about the first bottle. Both were the same, so it was obviously more a flaw of my palate than with the wine. This year's vintage is true to that form. Now, the second year in a row, I might say "chalky" instead of lightly corked. So....the wine seems refined, but not necessarily inspiring. Will it age? I don't know.....it seems somewhat light both with regards to fruit and structure. Not particularly tannic. I honestly don't know where this is going, having no experience with aged Pride wines. I'll reserve judgment, but I'm not sure this is worth the tariff. At the same price point, I'd go with Anderson Conn Valley Reserve. Maybe I'll be proven wrong as this moves towards maturity. 89-91 points.

Very dark, looks quite young. Extremely dense on the nose with tons of cassis and black berries, leather, minerals and tobacco. Huge concentrated sweet tannin, great structure.

Barrel sample. Dark ruby in the glass, this exhibits a nose of blackcurrant, cassis, cinnamon, cedar, vanilla and toast. The black fruits are vivid and pure on the palate. Tannins are a bit gritty at this point, but the wine has great balance and structure. A very long persistence (91-92)

I think the note putting end range of this wine in 2019 is wrong. I think it’s only now really aging. I’d put it more 2025-2030. If I had another bottle I’d wait. Fruits are cherry Icee along with anise and some toasted oak. Acid is plenty high to let this age further.

Excellent. Really enjoyable.

Similar to prior l bottle earlier this year. Tea on the nose, comes across like a well aged bordeaux on the palate, but I would expect an 11-year-old Bordeaux to have more depth, structure and life than this is showing at present.

Took this to a wine-centric party where there were a boatload of "serious" wines, many of which were more expensive than the Pride. As usual, many people declared it WOTN, and it was the first bottle to be emptied. Flat-out delicious, although the relative absence of tannins suggest that it's past its peak.

Not surprisingly, it was virtually identical to a bottle I opened about a month earlier. Ridiculously rich and decadent. However, the softness of the tannins make it less-than-ideal for consumption with really hearty foods and suggest that it's getting close to "drink up" time.

Big fruit, jammy, complex minerality with well balanced. Tannings nicely integrated but will benefit from many more years in the cellar. Enjoyed with a smoke filet and venison/blueberry sausages - perfect pairing.

Decanted for 1.5 hours, but took a while longer to really open up. Was a little hot at first, but mellowed nicely an hour or so in. Very nice cab that will probably be even better with a couple more years of bottle time.

P/P which was a mistake; still somewhat closed with black fruit, mineral, black tea; mid palate still not open. Did fine with the cheesy sausage pizza but a bit too tight on its own. Hold or decant.

Medium to full bodied, good concentration, with rich and jammy fruit on the palate; lacking a bit in terms of focus and complexity. A big wine that drank just fine by itself -- certainly not my style, but I can appreciate it for what it is.
