Very smooth, concentrated and yummy. Couldn't really find anything wrong with it. Justin's friend Kyle brought for the wedding weekend. Also had the Privada which was maybe a tad dryer but very close. Need to find more.

Retail $20, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Carménère, 25% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc. A real kitchen sink blend of Bordeaux varieties from Apalta in the Colchagua Valley in Chile. Deep ruby/purple color with aromas of cassis, black raspberry, plum, earth, and some slight vegetal notes (green pepper, mint). The palate is quite fruity and rich with more than ample acidity, spice, and just a touch of heat (14$ ABV). For twenty bucks? Yeah, I can play that game. thedrunkencyclist.com

This wine turns magical after a few hours of decanting. Right out of the bottle is a solid winner, but with a little patience, you will be highly rewarded. It has the perfect balance of fruit and mineral with tannins that are not sharp at all. It has to be one of the best values I’ve seen in a while. This wine will get better with age. How much patience do you have?
I bought a bottle of this at Costco because the price was low, about $10, and this vintage was rated high by Wine Spectator. HOWEVER, the label on my bottle is different than the one shown (mine has a large gold "P" instead of the circular logo, and at the bottom it has "APALTA COLCHAGUA - CHILE. This causes me to think that there are several bottllings around this wine and the one sold by Costco might be different form the one reviewed by WS. I've seen these shenanigans before with another wine. Can anyone help here? Which version was rated by WS? Thanks! In any case, the wine was not bad, 85, but not 90. Dark, fruity, but a bit astringent, maybe needs aging.

Decent everyday bottle of wine. Dark purple in color. Medium bodied. Notes of dark berries, tobacco, wood. Medium+ acidity creates interest in the palate. Medium finish. Enough tannins to give the wine some structure. All the elements could have been better integrated. The wine does have some small angular edges that gnaw at the palate and keeps it from being a more enjoyable or even a memorable wine. Can be a decent everyday wine, but there are many others in this price range that are more pleasing. WA rating of 90 pts is generous.

Very pleased by this as it had more complexity than I'd guessed it would for the price point and production volume. Black raspberries, a little cocoa, perhaps some mint and a reasonably long finish. Certainly a QPR overachiever in this book. Not sure the claimed 14% ABV is on the level, definitely seemed higher than that but without being overly hot.

Medium purple color. The nose shows loads of saucy black cherries, black cherries, along with a burst of black pepper, roasted red pepper, green olives, charcoal pit, along with coffee and vanilla notes. Medium/full-bodied with medium, velvety tannins, with moderating acidity, and everything is quite nicely balanced. Juicy yet tangy cassis and blackberry with a complex mix of anise, pepper, black olive, charcoal, and an underlying sense of rocky minerals. Accessible now but has the depth and concentration to improve for at least a few years. Surprisingly complex and balanced for the price. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenere, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc.

Tannins have integrated so it is drinking well now. It is, however, too sweet and fruity for my palate due to the Carmenere

Touch of evergreen to that. And bit angular on the palate. I'm sorta having a bad tasting day.

Nice everyday glass but not as bold as I generally like. Maybe a little time will add some excitement.

Eh... it’s fine. Nothing special, a little flat, but good value and very drinkable. Darker fruit than I anticipated, and a much darker finish.
