Cameron Wine Dinner with John Paul (Estadio - DC): Aging wonderfully, it's been awesome seeing this wine over the course of a bunch of years, and this bottle shined. Smoky, savory aromas, violets, rhubarbs, pepper-spiced sausage, on top of tart red cherries. Spicy cherries on the palate with silky tannins, crisp acid, and still some bright strawberries, complex notes of smoke, rhubarb, mushroom, bone broth. Loving this.

Crazy Cameron Tasting: Nice dose of pepper and funky herbs on the nose but also plenty of plump red fruit. Silky tannins, bright acidity, smooth mouthfeel. Fruit still going strong (plums, sour cherries) and I get quite complex notes of roses, loamy earth, grilled herbs, black tea, olives. Floral and mineral notes linger on the finish. Drinking so smoothly right now.

Small taste at a B-day tasting. N of red raspberry, cranberry, forest loam soil, funk, hint of olives, spice. Palate of red raspberry, cherry, mushrooms, funk, spice, black tea. The finish was long in length and the structure and acidity is still kicking. Glad to have a couple of more bottles left as this is still singing and should age well for a few more years.

Brett's B-Day Bash: This wine is still showing well, but I get even more earthy, meaty, tobacco and olive notes this time around. Basically, I love this wine. Aromas of earth, cured meat, black tea and olives top the red fruit. Gobs of olives and mushrooms and earth on the palate. The mouthfeel is great, with fine tannins and pure acid. Showing lots of complexity. Downright funk-tastic.

Brett's Epic Birthday Tasting (Palena - Washington, DC): black cherry, red raspberry on the nose, along with an aroma that really reminds me of a great muffaletta sandwich. it's got that green olive and oil aroma, but there's also an aroma of cured meat. gliding, silky, sexy fruit on the palate. red licorice, cranberry, raspberry and sweet pipe tobacco. rich, but laced with minerals and a streak of red meat. a hint of bitter chocolate comes out on the finish, which is incredibly long. my favorite wine of the bunch. i love this for its mouthfeel, silkiness and the purity of the fruit flavors. great stuff that will surely improve with years.

Notes from day 2. Dark red in color, pink on the rim. Nose of black cherry at first then turns to cranberry, red raspberry, with air, plus cameron funk, fall forest floor. On the palate there was dark cherry, cranberry, mixed raspberry, with more funk, spice, and some tannin. The finish was a little above average in length, and the mouthfeel was excellent as always. Good complexity showing today, yesterday it wasn't giving off much other than funk. Going to love following these wines to see where there sweet spot is for my palate. Hold. 50+5+12+17+9

Quite strong 'funky ' barnyard, compost taste, decent fruit. The funk of Cameron has always been appealing, but this may be too much.
