Beautiful Sangiovese nose, cherry, cranberry, forest floor. Same notes on the palate, cherry dominating, with nice rusty flavors, earth, a touch of leather and tabocco. Silky tannins, light to medium body, good acidity, everything nicely balanced. Great bottle, drinking very well with an hour decant and even better with food.

drinking well. Fruit (cherry and plum with a hint of apricot) are strong but balanced by structure of earth, leather and fine tannin. Drinks best with food but good for quaffing.

Very pale garnet color. Notes of dark cherry and dried strawberry, truffle and dried leaves. Medium-light bodied, with red fruit, truffle, dust and salinity on the palate. Chalky tannins provide a counterpoint to the smooth mouthfeel and provide a decent amount of balance. Feels just a bit faded, though perhaps as more tertiary flavors emerge it will be as excellent as it was when I last tried it almost 18 months ago.

A nice pure sangiovese, could be mistaken for a slightly more firmer chianti classico. Lacks a bit of complexity to merit a higher score. Still, a very enjoyable bottle and killer for food pairing (paired with homemade pizza)

Struggled to find its footing day 1 but air time served this very well to meet the critical praise on day 2 - really opened up with floral-licorice and earthy cherry aromas, and while the palate veered to the fig/prune side it remained grounded in black cherry and strawberries, with a nice minty-anise note and subtle pepper spice on the fine grained finish. Could reward 2 - 4+ yrs patience and interesting to watch evolve. Paired well with manchego and toscano cheeses, 91-93+ with time.

Dark garnet color. Nose is mostly earth and brambles, with just a feint hint of fruit. Tastes of blackberry, sour cherry, earth and brambles. Light body. A bit acidic. Needs another 1-2 years, but drinkable now. Pleasant but simple.

Worrying residue around the neck, but fortunately not corked. Lovely limpid hue. Aromas of red fruits, stone fruits, peppers white and black, and underbrush. Bright acidity, well-resolved tannins, and a spicy, medium length finish. Right on the money QPR-wise. This is our last bottle, but I would purchase again.

Medium garnet color. Offers cherry, oak, leather, toast and baking spices. Creamy texture, zesty red fruit with hints of salinity on the palate, medium-body, and firm fine-grained tannins. Loved it 22 months ago, loved it 18 months ago, loved it a year ago, still love it. Holding up, and suspect it still has more to show.

I love this wine. A bit rough around the edges and a bit of spice at this stage. Served with the worst wild boar roast ever, which was discarded and replaced with leftover frozen pizza. Perfect.

I let this Tuscany red decant for at least an hour before pouring. This pale garnet red revealed a quick set of wide tears along with big notes of wood & fruit. On the palate this wine came across much different from it smell with clay earthy notes jumping out of the glass. This was a dry, low acidity high tannin wine with little body or finish. I was a little disappointed with this wine and was expecting much more out of this “average” scoring Tuscany red.

In the rush of cooking, I didn't have time to take good notes, but I liked it. It developed more complex aromas and flavors during the first hour or so after opening. Went well with duck on pappardelle. Looking forward to tasting another bottle.

Deeply hued ruby with medium optical density and high specular reflectivity, and a touch of amber on the rim. Intensely aromatic with a nice complexity on the nose. Aromas of tobacco, forest floor, and mixed red fruits soaring over bramble and herbs. Hints of saline seaside and savory and floral baked meats waft behind, and evolves to provide black and red licorice. On the palate, medium body and acidity with a fine-grained medium tannin intensity, providing a polished texture and a balanced framework. Flavours of dusty cherry pit and toasted crushed nuts on entry, with some green olive and tobacco coming on soon after. Earthy and herbal notes fill things in, for a really interesting array of vivid and more subdued flavours as things stack up. The midpalate picks up steam, providing more spices and floral notes, with some tanginess from the seaside coming on at the final transition, where things turn to a dry fruit peel, crushed gravel, and light and clean cigarette smoke. Finishes with good length and overall excellent intensity and complexity throughout.
This is an awesome wine with swirling complexity, for a layered and deep experience. Excellent density of flavours, and with firm and assertive presence that stays elegant. An absolute joy to drink and an absolute steal of a value. Provides some tension and electricity with a still very delicious appeal. Shows just how great Sangiovese can be, in a pure and honest way. Definitely drinking very nice now, but imagine it to evolve in the cellar for sure.

Deeply hued ruby that is bright and clear, with medium optical density and fine, specular reflectivity. Light hint of yellow on the rim. The nose shows very nice intensity and some decent depth, with tobacco- and earth-infused red fruits (cherry, red plum, and reduced strawberry), and just a hint of dark fruit (blueberry and light cassis). Some floral aromatic lifted notes, and just a bit of savory herbal spice flair. Really nice complexity on the nose, with excellent balance. On the palate, medium bodied with medium acidity and medium tannins that provide enough structure, but give an integrated feeling. Shows good concentration and density, and overall, a texture of a fine-grained and well-polished surface, with perhaps profiled edges that provide interest and flair, without any hints of roughness. Flavours on the attack of dried tobacco and warm reduced red fruits (strawberry and cherry) with hints of earth and some seaside iodine and tar in the background. Excellent complexity on entry! The midpalate evolves with herbal spice and floral forest meadow on top of the spiced fruit, providing for a fruit cake profile in a very excellent way. The fruit takes on more complexity and some not-quite candied, but slightly cooked character, which is well offset by earth, tar, and tobacco. Nice depth throughout! The final transition shows some zesty fruit and spice, as things settle in to leave a finish of warm fruit peels and herbal and savoury seaside- like a raw beach-side with a fire-blazed fish and meat barbecue happening. Can also come across as iron, leather, and gravel. Length is medium and overall intensity is very good throughout, with really excellent complexity and depth.
This is truly outstanding wine, and simply nails its for $27CAD. At this price, just wow! 100% Sangiovese, and so well made. Just pure balance of fruit, earthiness, tar, iodine, and other notes, with swirling and thoughtful complexity, and an ethereal quality that just soars. Glad I stocked up on this! Drinking beautifully now, but should just get better and better! Simply awesome!
reticent nose; plenty of sweet/tart mixed wild berry fruit to start; still a bit primary; good earth and acidity; finish is a bit short on fruit but still has good acidity and black tea. Still evolving with more typicity on day two.

Deep ruby red with medium plus optical density and fine, specular reflectivity. Slightly yellowish at the rim, but only just so. Aromas are deep, almost brooding, with a good intensity and an interesting array of items. Dusty dark berry skins and some lighter red (but a dark red) fruits appear over tobacco leaf and earth. Just a touch of dark tar supports the entire nose, providing a dark twist. Rich on the palate, with medium body and acidity, with weighty, sappy texturing that fills out the mouthfeel. Tannins are present at a fine-grained resolution with enough intensity to highlight the dry and deep wine on the frontend, and give a clean and ready palate on the backend. This combination provides an easy-going wine that is both electric and palate-coating; excellent tension in the framework. Flavours of mixed berries, tar, and tobacco on the attack, with really nice intensity- powerful and interesting from the start! The dark cherry seems to envelope ripe raspberry and tar notes, with a smoky and spicy tobacco lying just underneath until midpalate, when an herbal and tobacco flavour washes over the fruit. Earthy and interesting here, with roasted dark berry skins and some savoury, greek-spiced roasted meats add on top of everything already going on. The final transition shows dried leather as the tannins kick in, and finally there is a lingering sense of fruit skins and worn leather on top of a more delicate sandalwood and perhaps brine (iodine-tinged). The finish shows good length. Evolves delightfully in the glass, providing even more depth.
This is exciting wine, and very much has depth, interest, drinkability, balance, elegance, and many other factors that provide for an outstanding experience at any price. Extreme value here, for me. This is a seemingly very refined old world wine- not really modern, but not rustic and haggard. Seems to have that perfect balance of vivd, delicious fruit, and spiced tobacco and earth flavours that provide a great way to define fine red wine. Wow!
Trying again, with an extra 6 months age and does not disappoint. 2h air. Medium garnet color, strikingly orange. Aromas of cherry, chocolate, leather, tea leaves and florality. Creamy texture, medium-body, smooth tannins. Lively cherry and black fruit on the palate, earthy with hints of game in the finish. 4 bottles left and am going to be patient with them as this just keeps getting better.

Very young but oh so good! Started slowly, tight, confined, restrained. Give it some time. It WILL open up and showcase some amazing tannins, deep, rounded and intense flavors of cherry, blackberry, and pepper, and a reasonablely long finish. Nice earthiness to boot! Really excellent wine and value. I’m lucky to have four more of these gems. Fun times ahead! Wait two to three more years (so, I’d say 2022-2023) to crack yours open, if you can!

I'll say it again; the QPR here is incredible. This wine could use some more cellaring, as it takes on another point or 2 the second day after it's open. Concentrated, lovely depth of dark berries, some dark cherry liqueur, dark chocolate, and a hint of nutmeg. Such a steal and fun to drink, I'll probably try to keep a bottle or two to try in a few years to see how it ages.

Popped a second bottle after about 4 months to have with some weekend Pizza. Gave 2h air.
Medium/Pale garnet, almost brick color. Aromas of cherry, red currant, tea leaves, game and a hint of oak. Lively on the palate, creamy texture, red and black fruit on entry, earthy in the mid-palate, and smooth tannins adding structure.
Great QPR. A little lack of harmony right now, will be interesting to see how that evolves over course of the next 5 years.

2h air. Medium garnet color. Complex aromas of cherry, game. tea leaves, chocolate and a hint of citrus. Creamy texture, medium-full body. Bright, juicy red fruit on entry, earthy and musky mid-palate, with espresso in the lingering finish. Youthful, but already great QPR and loads of potential. Deep, earthy, and structured. Tannins are a bit muscular in finish, but once that resolves this should be a real gem.
Improved somewhat dramatically in glass, so suggest drinking at room temperature.

Amazing wine for the price. Slight funk upon opening but once that blows away; this wine is delicate & elegant with smoke, soft pencil lead and brambly wild fruit. Finishes with a soft yet deliciously long and lingering finish. Drank over three evenings, night two tasted the best. Night three flavors diminished however still quite drinkable.

This went fast at the party, I'm glad that I got a small glass before everyone else got their hands on it. This wine actually went great with the kabobs we were having, some reds can get overshadowed by foods that carry some heat but this meshed well, particularly with the tomato-based karahi dish. This was a nice buy, another crowd pleaser that doesn't break the bank.

Nice library leather book color. Good round legs. Initial nose of stored up wet stone. Wine needed to open.Decanted 30 minutes. Flavor of blackberry compote w/balanced tannin finish. Calls for a good hard cheese & red meat.

Decanted less than an hour. This is so good. I picked up blackberry, and my wife picked cherry. Will be buying more. I do think this needs time. Should have waited, but Tomahawk Pork Chop was calling its name.

Loads of plum, cherry, and some acidity. This is a more lush wine than I was anticipating. This is an incredible QPR, and should be even more enjoyable in another 5-10 years.

Dusty raspberry, hazelnut and steak tartare on the nose. Clean and delineated red fruits on the palate with well-measured acidity and a pleasant, nutty aftertaste. Present yet softly caressing tannins provide structure. Very good to excellent.

Light elegant style, fresh with abundant red fruits.
A bit simple and short, but a lovely drink 'more' wine (doordrinker in Dutch).
For € 20 a bit too expensive.
