From magnum, shared with a number of people at a wine auction, people loved it, started searching for it on line, golden yellow, bracing acidity, melon, apple, long lingering finish, and just when you thought it was done, a flash of honey (some thought), others tangerine, a unique zing on the finish

Nice, but seemed more mature than I expected. Very light bubbles. Honey on nose and palate. I’ve had these petillants at 17 yrs old and they were less advanced. Nice, but a little tired.

Pop and pour, drank half the bottle over 2 hours. An interesting combination of melon, oxidative notes and funk. Quite different from a traditional Champagne.

Seems as there are two different versions of the 2014, the normal bottling with 4 years on the lees and the Magnum bottling with 6 years on the lees, this would be then the magnum bottling. Acidity 4g/l, residual sugar 1g/l, 12.5% vol.
Very shy bubbles from the start but they persist over hours. On the nose ripe apples and yeasty notes, on the palate dry, medium acidity, medium bodied and length.
A bit simple compared to the still wines from Huet, but still good and easy drinking over 3 hours.

Selected this wine to accompany appetizers before dinner. While initially disappointed by the departure of bubbles, upon closer examination and taste, it was producing a steady supply of tiny bubbles, running from each of the poured glasses. The wine itself paired nicely with the appetizers. A touch of pear and dried apricot on the palate with a smooth finish.

Deep golden hue, with petillant style bubbles. Full bodied, and ripe, but with sufficient acidity to keep it interesting and lively. Quite enjoyable. Popped and drank one, and repeated for a simliar experience.

First sip is like biting into the freshest and juiciest apple on earth. Very crisp and minerally. The finish shows a touch of oxidation that adds intriguing complexity. What an exciting, head-turning wine!

medium-deep yellow/gold color. Beautiful nose of orchard fruits drizzled with honey. Rich and full on the palate, this is luxuriously fruited and absolutely delicious! This is always a decadent bottle which is Brut in dosage, but so ripe it gives the impression of sweetness. This is still lively but seems that it's best consumed over the next 2-3 years. 90

Quintessential Vouvray Petillant. The dusty chalk nose so characteristic of Chenin from this part of the Loire, the bright taste infused with citron and quince notes, fresh and light. Lovely balance of sweet and tart.
Rated +2 on a scale of -1 to +3.

I didn't care for this: the apple flavours of Chenin made it come across a little cidery, and the overall impression was thin and charmless. Stopped after one glass and had an IPA instead.

First time trying a sparkling chenin, and this producer obviously makes this a safe place to start.
Golden in the glass. Appears to be slightly oxidized. Aromatically, this is apples and pears all day. Reminds me of spiced apple cider from the holidays. Ripe golden delicious apples mixed with cinnamon and holiday spices alongside those Harry & David pears you get in gift baskets. Undoubtedly chenin Blanc on the palate with sharp bubbles, and a mineral driven backbone...slate and limestone. As it warms, it gains a slightly waxy trait to it and drinks like a straight up non-sparkling chenin. Unique. Paired perfectly with sushi.

Må prøve en annen flaske for å konkludere endelig

Typicity: Petillant Natural Vinification: Organic, Biodynamic, methode ancestrale with less atmospheric pressure for delicate bubbles, 3 vineyards of fruit, finishes fermentation 3+ years in bottle, ~10g of r/s.
N: MED+ intensity, developing, ripe apple, honey, lees, cheese, wool sweater, white rock, citrus.
P: Dry to slightly off dry, phenolic bitterness, MED+ acidity, MED- alcohol, FULL body, LONG finish
Huet is an iconic benchmark Vouvray producer since 1928. Biodynamic since 1993. Exceptional age worthy Chenin Blanc year after year. A bit sad it was sold to Hwang family, but it appears quality has not suffered due to maintaining strong winemaking team. Great for Thanksgiving dinners. Drink 2020-2025, but if you like old still Chenin it’ll go longer.

From my favorite Vouvray producer. Straightforward sparkling with crisp apple notes. Lacks the distinction of their still Chenins, but still well made.

Light gold color. Nose shows yellow apples, almond skin, biscuits, seashells, tonic. Zippy acidity on the palate, lots of minerals and sea salt, oyster shells. Liking the floral, green apple tones, seems concentrated but could open over time. Day two showed a lot more honeyed and floral tones.

Similar to what L'ENFANT SAUVAGE and RICH S said (sans salad pairing). I liked this, it's good to quite good, but I thought it was kind of flat and simple. Drank over two nights and it was best the first night; the half remaining was kept in the (750ml) bottle with a champagne stopper but lost much of its fizz (but still drank well / OK). I see the long CT drinking window and wonder if there is something there that I don't see at this stage, but I'm not going to bother with another purchase even though it's on sale sub-$25 USD locally.

Wine Tasting Group - No Theme - Feb. 22, 2020 (My place): Yeasty/brioche aromas with apples, wet wool and lanolin. Tart apples, lemon, wet wool, and nice minerals on the palate. Excellent acids on medium bodied frame. Young and drinking really well but looking forward to what the wine will be in a decade or more.

Opened alongside a bottle of Vilmart Grande Reserve, one of our favorite Champagnes. The Huet more than held its own. Refined, mineral, and subtly fruity, this is a joy-inspiring wine. It disappeared very quickly in a party filled with non-wine geeks.

Light golden color. Not very effervescent with just minimal bubbles. Nose of ripe golden apple and pear with a hint of honeysuckle. Similar flavors on the palate with some slight chalky notes on the finish. Medium+ acid with a nice crispness to it. A bit simple overall but enjoyable and solid QPR.
