Tightly wound. Cherries, red & black, with some plum and maybe cranberries. Nicely tart, which I usually give too the cranberries. Seems like it wants to open more.

Pinot under $100 (East Bistro): Easy call for new-world with raspberry-like red fruits and a sweet finish. It was warmer than I expected from Otago though - I was in Australia for this. Generic, not very interesting.

Mouth: Juiced strawberry, raspberry, and light creamed cherry are blended through with notes of sandalwood and clove ahead of the woodsy, fine grained finish that delivers a hit of sous bois and green tea to finish out.
Overall: Distinctive and developed with strong tertiary notes that are very well integrated. A lot of fun and ready to go now. Appealing to all palates, and fun to share this with people who both know and don't know wine as it's both finessed and user friendly. Worth seeking out if interested.

Zoom tasting of Australia and New Zealand wines, hosted by Auriol Wines, Hampshire, UK. Light garnet colour. Red berry fruits, with a nice maturity on the nose. Quite rich palate, ripe fruit, spicy, only let down a little by not having much depth.

Rose and hibiscus flora note, slight perfumery. strawberry and honeysuckle to the taste. Mouthful of medium tannis and low acidity, striking accord of balance like a young lady still blossoming. I reckon 1-2 years will be more tasteful.

Let me caveat by saying I LOVE good Otago pinots so I know what to expect. This just doesn't do it for me. The aroma is light and delicate (which is nice) with a perfume of red fruit and Roses and strawberry. It's quite a bit lighter though, than some. It does not stand up well to food like other NZ pinots. Not much of a finish - there's just not a lot there. For the price, I'm disappointed.

P&p. Smoky, earthy, dark fruit/violet aroma. Similar flavors, acid-driven, light on tannins and body. Decent bit of depth. Comes across as somewhat generic, but tasty, well put together, enjoyable overall even if it's not exactly interesting.
Seems to be falling apart on day 2 (stored in a topped up half-bottle in the fridge).
