Good but lacking a distinctive CB nose, ok on the palate, a bit soft lower acid for this wine. Not that impressed tonight. Actually my previous notes are spot on but I didn't car for this quite as much this time. EWG at GCC

Rum, baking spice, apples, golden syrup, tinned peaches. Light in colour and body. Still fresh, with good acidity. I think this has plenty of potential for further ageing.

10 year retrospective: Delicious, light honey, camomile, mandarin, pineapple and white raisins medium sweet, medium body, good acid streak keeping it very boyant and fresh. Nice alternative to a heavier Sauterne, but not big enough to survive a lemon tart for dessert.

There's a reason this was on closeout years ago for a veritable song -- it's not a great expression of the bottling. That being said, it's an entirely quaffable dessert wine (its best use, IMO) that has just enough acidic backbone to raise it above just about every other wine at its $20 price point. To dislike it is to be disagreeable. Not really sweet, but certainly off off dry. Light and airy.

Mostly Loire Wines (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): Gorgeous apricot honey color in the glass with big legs. The aromas are so sexy: apricot, white peach, some lemon oil. With time the wine showed more wax and floral aromas. The palate starts off thick and creamy with lots of apricot, peanuts, orange rind and a dose of brisk lemon. With time the acid came out more, balancing the wine, but this is definitely a rich and luscious wine. Lovely lemon candle and sweet apricot on the finish. This was the wine I brought and I was really pleased with the way it shwoed. I'd love to taste this again in 10 years, as it has so much complexity to unpack.

My impressions are in line with the last few notes, back to about 2009, except that it seems to be closing up somewhat. Have had several of these over the last few years; it's sweetness is slowly and slightly receding. Acids were never high enough for me, and are also diminishing, but it still isn't what you'd call flabby; just softening. Fragrant, delicious and long, it's hard to stay away from, but I'd save a few until someone says the secondary qualities are coming forward.

EWG tastes Umami (Umami Burger, Hollywood, CA): Rich and weighty with a sweet core of fruit but plenty of stitched in acids making this seamless to the finish. The sugar is nicely integrated making it more pretty than thick. Beautiful with a long life ahead of it.

My first wine from this region and its quite impressive. Long and complex. Amazing nose of tropical fruit and petrol. Earthy, with a hint of vegetal aromas. Balanced with a lovely acidity. quite impressive. this needs a few more years in the bottle.

Served with Appetizers that included Goat cheese and Walnut in Endive, Spinach and Artichoke in Puff Pastry, and Foie Gras with Date and Pomegranate. My first time serving a Baumard, and my wine of the night. By the second pour, I was kicking myself for not opening the bottle for an hour ahead of dinner, and for only buying 3 when I had the chance. Nose of Botrytis, honeysuckle, lemon. Palate more of the same, with white peach and green apple at times. Very good acidity and sweetness, and by the end of the second glass it was kicking into high gear. Loved it, and need to seek out the QdC and start building a cellar stock after this experience.

Loire Valley Primer (Wine Exchange - Orange, CA): Brilliant light gold in the glass. Quite honeyed and opulent on the nose with oily aromas of apple, honeysuckle, and slate. The palate is very supple and glossy with flavors of honey, apricot chutney, botrytis, and plenty of mineral essence. This wine is well balanced with admirable complexity and restraint.

Like apricot/quince jam spread on a rock. You almost feel the gneiss grit in your teeth on the finish. This is a beautiful mix of sweet and mineral with plenty of supporting acid. But all a little disconnected. Will hopefully find more fluid integration with a decade, or two, in the bottle.

Unfortunately, this wine suffered as we tasted it along side, and after, the '02 QdC. Basically, tonight this was a watered down version of the '02 QdC. This note really cannot do justice to the wine.

Tasting at Domaine Baumard with Florent Baumard. Green in color, this wine showed better balance and greater elegance than the '05 Carte d'Or that preceded it. Filled with spiced pears and possessing a long finish, this wine should develop very well over the next several years. 50+12+12+8+8 = 90+

Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2015-02; France: Loire white wines. (By AW): Honey, apricots and polishing wax in the bouquet. On the palate apple syrup. Good sweetness and acidity. The wine is quite mature. Overall it disappointed a bit for what I expected.

This was nice. Went fairly well with the bread pudding at Tilia. Might need to find more of this from a different vintage.
