Bright red and purple fruit flavor. Juicy but not as deep or co,mplex as some previous vintages of this wine, or other zons from Turley. Medium body, medium long finsh, low tanin.

Big, balanced, bordering on elegant, in your face, very pretty fruit, and quite alot of spice. Very good zin, though I do not drink zin much. Showing very well, at this stage.

PnP. Powerful alcoholic nose with raisin, fig, and a hint of brandy. Dark overripe blackberry and tart black currant on the palate with a note of tar and then some juicy red berry and cranberry. Finish brings firm tannins, dry leather, black fruit and a slight coffee ground bite. Improved with air but still comes off overblown.
As usual dense and delicious. Classic strong flavored profile. Opened up significantly with air, this will be better in a few years. A big bold Zin which is exactly what I'm expecting, and want if I'm drinking zin
Dusi and duarte remain my favorite Turley

As others have commented, wine was muddled, hot and lacked depth of flavor. I’m a big Dusi fan but this bottle or vintage is not up to my expectations nor Turley’s standard.

This is a seriously fruit forward style of zin with some nice pepper and spice in the finish. There are layers of spice and pepper mixed into the fruit, not enough to make this a complex wine, but enough to keep it from being one dimensional.

Nose had an almost vinegar character that continued into the wine -- very un-intigrated with fruit fighting this vinegar and other flavors. Perhaps had some aceterobacter

Nose was exquisite right from the pnp......a 94-95 of brambly zin red and black fruits and beautiful spices.....unfortunately, the palate couldn't support the nose, not unusual for a '17. Lots of red fruit, barrel spice and moderate acidity, but at the same time a chalkiness with lack of depth to the fruit, so common with so many '17s. Give the palate an 89 so you average the 2 and you get a 91-92, I guess......if only the palate would have matched the aromatics of the nose this would have been grand! Out of balance and a tad uneven as it stands right now. I may be generous by a point......

Drinking very well in August 2021 and another example of Turley being on top of their game. Fully developed and integrated fruit that gives no hints of its 15.9% ABV. This is one of my favorite Turley vineyards.

2017 was a year of big heat spikes throughout California, and the ‘17 Dusi reflects that in spades. This offering felt heavy and sweet — more a port-like cigar wine than an accompaniment to meals. The almost 16% abv asserts itself throughout, from over-the-top bouquet to hot finish. This will be just the ticket for anyone who enjoys a heavier style. But for us ... Pass.
Just a tad disappointed in this bottle and it probably has something to do with the '18 Dusi we had over the last few days which was just singing. That vintage is exquisite, this vintage drinks a little muddied or clouded if you will. The heat that year was unbearable, and it no doubt affected the fruit, negatively. This is a fav vineyard of mine but not a fav vintage.

This is on the lighter side of Turley Zins. Lots of strawberry up front, with lots of white pepper in the middle and finish. Not one of my favorites of theirs.
Update: two days later (sealed with VacuVin) it had rounded out much better. The pepper was not so pronounced and it seemed to a bit fuller in body. Still not near the top of my Turley list, but certainly better.

What a terrific zinfandel. Much more of a red fruit profile, than the typical dark zins. Raspberry dominates. There was a richness and depth as well as some lifting acid. Dusi is one of our absolute faves!
Just my style of zin...fresh strawberry-raspberry fruit, very aromatic with an acetic component, ful-bodied but very smooth. Bright ruby color, translucent. Ready to drink. Not much tannin. Ric

I served this in my wine course. Raspberry and white pepper, cinnamon, allspice nose. Rich but elegantly restrained mouth. Finishes long with plenty of fruit and silky tannins adding structure. Very enjoyable.

Drank this last night and really enjoyed it. Smooth and fruit-forward as you'd expect from Turkey. It also has a really nice balance as acidity gives it a freshness and brightness. Love the Dusi vineyards since I first had one from Jeff Cohn years ago.

Wonderful bouquet. Bought from the winery on our way to Morro Bay and delicious with our seafood dinner at The Galley. Great mouth feel and aftertaste.
Bright red fruit on the nose. Long and smooth, delicious raspberry fruit, obvious sweetness, luscious with lots of concentration yet not heavy.
This is delicious, simple perhaps but enjoyable. Maybe a little confected tasting, which would ordinarily rule it out for me. I want to try this alongside a Martinelli Giuseppi & Louisa and conclude which is best.

Tasted blind (but not to which wines I own). Guessed Turley zinfandel. To be fair, I don’t own any other zinfandel. But is there any other zinfandel that tastes anywhere near this good? I haven’t tasted it. This wine offers concentrated dried apricots, prunes, dried cherries, burnt sugar, black tea, and cigar box in a delicious package that almost tastes artificial it’s so delicious. Although I find that Turley wines age well for 10+ years, I see no particular reason to age this wine.

Wow this is a winner ! Cloudy in glass and loaded with depth. Aromas of raspberry and fresh cinnamon. On the palette the raspberry fruit emerges and dominates, and there are some underbrush notes as well and some blueberry. The finish is long lingering notes of underbrush. Some mushroom, lots of spices and lingering blueberry notes.
15.9% abv. Bright ruby, very expressive aromatics. Raspberry, cherry and Zin bramble at this early stage. Good depth and length. Very nice now, but it’s best days lie ahead.

Tasted at the Skurnik Grand Portfolio Tasting in NYC. Poured by Larry and Whitney Turley. This one is from a vineyard planted in 1946. The wine is powerful and rich with spice black cherry and again big raisin elements for me. This time of the chocolate covered variety. Big wine with big flavors.
