Wow!! First time I've had the pleasure of tasting a Williams Selyem and it was amazing. On the nose dark black and red fruits along with hints of mint, camp fire smoke, and eucalyptus. Just wanted to keep swirling and smelling, it was intoxicating. On the palate, the fruit on the nose was rich and mouth filling with the addition of baking spices leading to a balanced and lingering finish that just had you coming back for the next sip.
To make this even better it was a completely unexpected and generous gift from the next door neighbor of a close friend. Thank you, Mr. Grush.
Med ruby. Intense flavor and aromas of vanilla, sweet cherry, ever so slight cherry cough syrup. The wood treatment is certainly there but classy and well done. Almost full bodied, it's a little bit glyceric, and the alcohol is high but admirably restrained. I would still classify this as a "powerful" wine. Ripe fruit condition and a long finish. This is a balanced and well made wine. Very good, drinking very well right now.

Actually tasted over two days while it sat at room temperature. Consistent throughout with no deterioration. Not as rich as I expected given it’s the winery’s basic PN. And that’s a good thing. I’m not a fan of those opulent RRV Pinot Noirs that are ubiquitous. Very classy wine.

Drank after a one hour decant. I love Williams Selyem wines, but this one was not my favorite. Lacks the bright red fruit, plush mouthfeel, and complexity/spice of their best wines (and even their Sonoma County PN in very good years). The nose is mostly dark fruit more suggestive of Sonoma Coast than RRV. On the palate, there is very prominent acidity, new oak, and some sour cherry, but nothing complex or exciting. Will try again.
Tart. Did I say TART. Wow, pour over the turkey next thanksgiving. Huge Cranberry, chalking on the back of the tongue. Great mouth feel. I suspect we let this age another 2-3 could be a powder keg. The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like mineral. The body is light/medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Out of Cousin Pudge's cellar. Really smooth fine wine drinking well now but will improve 3-5 years down the line as WINEPOG stated. Had a small taste, cherry, spice and a nice mouthfeel. Cousin Pudge drank it up as he is not patient enough to cellar longer.

full bodied. I like this pinot even it leans more towards higher acidic. Smooth, dry , bold and acidic. Cherries and oak. If your stomach is well and ok with acidicity from Pinot, go for it. I overpaid while I consumed it overseas. It would have been cheaper back States. I will try it again.

Lots of red fruit, bright without being acidic. Gentle transition to tobacco and wet earth. Kind of a short finish now, but somehow feels like that's going to improve in the bottle.

This alluring Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is delicious, with a medium-to full-bodied texture, and gorgeous nuances of red fruit medley, wet earth, white pepper and nutmeg. A long and impactful finish, with some bay leaf. Delightful today, this could still use a couple more years of bottle age. Drink 2021 - 2030.

Just so good. Restrained in a William's Selyem kinda way with pleasant bright fruit with an exceptional mouthfeel I haven't experienced with other PN's. Well done.

Excellent wine with rich fruit. Smooth on the palate and medium plus acidity. Really enjoyable now. Cherry and cranberry leaves your mouth watering for more.

36th Birthday (Noreetuh): Wine #3. We couldn't resist and popped this open. The 2017 Williams Selyem Russian River Valley is still pretty tightly wound, but there is a ton of potential here. A nose of plums, dark cherry, and tobacco leaf that follow through on the palate. For a village-level wine, this is quite impressive, with firm tannins and great structure that will support medium-term cellaring. I am really loving the 2017s, especially the estates that largely picked before the Labor Day heat wave.
