First time trying this, one glass out of coravin, drunk over a couple of hours. Tastes a little astringent and the acidity is noticeable. Some fruit in the background. I think the potential is there but perhaps just not ready yet. I'll try decanting the rest of the bottle for longer to see if it opens up.

The best and most gorgeous nose, complex, racy, dark fruit profile. The palate is well balanced between deliciously deep fruit and the tannins are powerful but very approachable, the texture is gorgeous and very nice length too. Another 2017 that shows up well early and this was the number 1 wine by a slight margin for each taster.

Splash decant. Lovely florals. Not green, but light and touch of morello. Better than the Duroche ‘Champ’ 17 had the previous night, which needed more time in full air. Very good. I’d be interested in trying a ‘10 and ‘15 too now. Good quality.

Dense ruby. Mid to dark red fruit, quite dense with a pastille quality to the fruit. Open yet dense, rounded yet with line and precision. Giving yet poised. Dujac. The attractiveness and drink-me factor of the vintage combined with some restraint and a sense of ageability. Lovely now, but surely yet more to come. Comfortably **** and excellent for village level.

Pretty darn reductive on opening. A bit of hard boiled egg that took a bit to blow off. Beyond that, a somewhat muscular version of a 17, with a little eucalyptus and dried herb against a bit of dark fruit. Air does the wine many favors and it will age well for 10-15 years.

Opened about 6hrs prior. Faint hints of reduction on the nose and palate giving it a bit of flint character but this had mostly blown off. Black cherry profile, quite narrow and a bit firm on the attack but blossoms on the finish showing a rounder mouth coating profile. Hints of allspice on the finish. Quite nice, if a bit linear at this stage. Needs some Time to soften and deepen but seems like it’ll have a terrific life ahead of it.

Pale ruby, some reductive match stick on the nose with strawberries in the background. Red fruit is very prominent and then some smoke and wood. Fine grained tannins. Medium finish. Really delicious.
This was pretty tight when we first opened it but after an hour it’s excellent. I love these wines.

Three guys, five Pinots (@Home): Glass: Riedel Sommelier Burgundy Popped and poured, drunk over three days. Clear, medium ruby color with garnet edges. Clean, medium intense, youthful-developing nose. Quite muted, opened a bit on day two. Fine fruit, elegant. Dry, 13% abv, high, juicy acidity, high, powerful tannin that seemed a bit rough at first, but mellowed significantly with time and air. On day one a bit closed and forbidding. Opened up on day two. Pure red fruit, fine oak, a bit “dark”. Good tension, nice texture, gained elegance and finesse on days two and three. Medium+ finish. 91-92 Let it rest for some more years or give it lots of time now.

This is more my style, crunchy fruits, a tannic soft finish, this is superior to Chambolle-Musigny same vintage. Still two of each to follow, no need to hurry.

Kuon x International Fine Wines: First Dujac and I loved it, maybe I'm just a sucker for the label? I doubt it though, this was just drinking very well (an argument could I guess be made it's not as fine of a wine if it was already drinking so well... but I think all wine makers have been moving towards making drops more approachable early).
More importantly why did I love it? The depth and density of dark brooding flavours, cherries, plums, but with a clear old world brush and 'sous bois'. This richness and depth of flavour was paired with a brisk acidity that kept the palate fresh and wanting more. A very well balanced wine that was brimming with flavour, but remained nimble on its feet.
Lovely wine for mine.

Spicy, sappy nose with lovely pure red (strawberry) and blue fruits. More of that fruit, with a slightly compote character, on the palate, medium body, fine drying tannin and fresh acidity. Nice balance. This is a gentle wine that is drinking very well already, and absolutely delicious.

Very forward and vibrant nose of fresh spring berries, hints of rose followed by herbs and some spice. The palate is rich and minerally, yet still approachable. More stringent cherry fruit with ash and herb notes. Short finish as I noted in previous review. Nicely made yet I question the qpr.

Dinner at Dear Margaret (Chicago, IL): Served next to the Chambolle, it's just clear you play better when you plan on home turf. This is as stereotypically Dujac as it comes with its lovely spice notes and moreysien (is that the adjectival form?) mix of red and black fruit. While the Chambolle was relatively lighter on the palate with more of a perfumed red-fruit character, this has more of the spice that's associated with Dujac. A delicious, if young, bottle.

Not nearly as open and generous as other 2017s I’ve had recently. May have been very slightly corked as the nose here was a bit closed/off over two nights. The palate showed really pure, pretty fruit and I’m optimistic my other bottle will be great in a few years.

First ever Red Burgundy. Had mainly had Oregon and BC Pinot Noir prior to this. Nose itself was slightly oxidative and a bit too heavy on alcohol initially but subsided after sitting in the decanter for an hour+. Afterwards was mainly red cherry, earthiness, an iodine/seaweed characteristic and a touch of floral elements as well. Palate was mainly ripe, red luscious cherry backed up by a lovely silty earthy quality as well. The grape really shines here, as the oakiness is almost invisible which I always find is a great quality in a Pinot. Just wish it wasn't so expensive ($120 CAD).
Decided to open as other notes have said how approachable this is already. They aren’t wrong. It drank well right off the bat and only improved from there. Dense, concentrated and pure red fruit with a touch of minty herbaceousness; good but not overwhelming acidity; perfect weight.
I am still learning my way around Burgundy so this was a treat, but is hands down the best villages wine I have drank to date.

PnP then drunk over two evenings. Medium-light and bright ruby, clear. Expressive nose with spices, flowers and earthy notes on top of airy and elegant red fruit. On the palate it has medium weight and a structure which seems firm but light, with light and grainy tannins. A mineral note takes you through the midpalate to the finish, where beautiful red fruit comes back and leaves you with a refreshing aftertaste.

Consumed over two nights. Initial opening shows a vibrant berry and flora spectrum, with touches of vegetation, second night more mellow and restrained with earth under tones, brush, tea leaves, pen ink and spice. Palate is lean and full of acidity. More tart stone fruits lead into ash, clay and crushed stones, hints of iron. Perhaps a bit light on the weight overall, but nonetheless drinks quite well today. Unquestionable that this will evolve over time.

Nicely perfumed with dark fruit and stem-derived spice. Dark fruited flavors, good focus, with a firm mineral underpinning and ripe tannins. Thin midpalate otherwise this is an impressive village. Better in a year or two.
