This has pushed up and is maturating nicely. A very nice and plush rendition of SE without being overdone. A great crowd pleaser. I actually drank this with a serious face and without a fake smile. Drink!

Almost a year later, this has bottled up some new elegance and shows a new face of Badette, one with less extraction and more restraint and room for improvement in the bottle. I dont know which version I like better. I think I like the slutty full throttle one, but this one has its place for sure. drink or Hold

Black fruit, leather, oak and eucalyptus or menthol and wet stone combined with high tannin and a full mouthfeel. Finish is quite long. Very satisfying wine, will go well with wild boar stew.

I am a big fan of this producer and totally appreciate the style for what it is. Its geared to give excellent California wines a run for their money. I came here expecting a huge Badette given the vintage, but found one that is leaner than both the 2015 and 2016. Its still very interesting, but its feeling a bit throttled back and lighter in everything. The oak is in check for the weight. It came accross as a nice drinking wine, but did not wow like the previous good vintages. This one is also showing 14.5 ABV vs. the super 15's of the past. That explains what I taste. Drink

Deeply colored, with an assertive nose of espresso, licorice, cocoa, black cherry and smoke, the wine is concentrated, full-bodied, ripe, round, opulent and fruity. There is lift, energy and length here on the palate along with loads of sweet, dark fruits, licorice, oak and chocolate in the voluptuous finish. The wine was made from blending 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.

Juicy, ripe, fresh and showing concentration, freshness and character with layers of ripe dark fruits, earth and licorice on the nose and in the long, voluptuous finish. The wine was made from blending 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, reaching 14% alcohol. 93-95 Pts

St. Emilion Grand Cru Classés Walkaround tasting, so just short notes (Amsterdam): Beautiful dark berries in the bouquet and in the sweet start. Good acidity and round tannin. Beautiful wine.
