Good not great. Better than their 2020, but outshown by 2017 Smith Haut Lafitte and 2015 Domaine de Chevalier for region's white wines. The 2018 has some nice acidity but just not the complexity of the other two mentioned above. Still, an enjoyable wine.
Fresh, spikey nose of limes, fresh peach and some herbacious edge.on the palet followed by a creamy, nearly cookydough essence to top the previous aromas. Day three it definitely falls a little apart unfortunately.
In a nice spot Nose was complex and lovely showing lots of citrus and touches of oak influence Palate was rich, complex and crisp. Lemon oil, touch of vanilla, citrus, perfect acidity, long finish that demanded another sip. Would buy again.

Pale lemon, with medium intensity, youthful aromas of lemon curd, banana, pineapple, herbs, saline, butter, vanilla, caramel, butter cups. This wine has high alcohol and acidity along with medium plus body and flavor. This wine has flavors of lemon curd, butter, caramel, banana, almond and herbs. This wine has a long finish and is a very good wine that I would drink between now and 2030.
This one has a great backbone of acidity highlighted by flavors of lemon curd, almond, eucalyptus, caramel, with a very long finish.
PnP chilled. Clear, very light straw color. A very nice summer wine with the typical French minerality. Nice fruit, good balance, clean, sharp, not super dry and a good value at $36. Nothing off.

Pale straw in colour. Extremely aromatic of pineapple and citrus and green papaya. Similar palate, wonderful juicy acidity. Medium body. Very fresh tasting. Still young, and great to drink now, but I expecting fruit to mellow going forward. My guess is this becomes 93+ in a few years, but I have sense I will drink it all before then. Would be amazing with melon salad, fennel, or frisée with Dijon dressing. Sitting on the dock, in the sun, on a late warm afternoon.

Couldn't compare to the '17 Chevalier Blanc drunk alongside but pretty in it's own right if more linear and obvious. Crisp and quaffable and very much improved after an hour in the glass. At Les Sources de Caudalie, Pessac-Leognan.

ALPHAMIKEFOXTROT's tasting note from 9/22 is spot on. This needs at least an hour decant to begin to come together, and will absolutely benefit from more cellar time. A decent qpr @ $35, which may markedly improve with aging.
Pleasant. Light oak, nice balance. I agree with WS that there is something like "tarragon, oyster shell" along with the fresh fruit -- this made it go nicely with our chicken.

I am really enjoying the ‘18 vintage of this wine. Crisp and refreshing, great acid, lime, some tropical Fruits, some herbal spicy greens. BB is not my favorite generally, but for some reason I always enjoy this one.
Beautifully stemmy and green right now. White flowers, especially daffodils, fresh tarragon, chives, black pepper, green bell pepper and chile de arbol. Something vegetal too - cabbage and lentils. The cabbage is almost rotten but not quite (that's a compliment, by the way)
Medium + body, great acid. Developing - could drink now; but will benefit from further aging.

18 months on from my previous note it seems that, sadly, this vintage is far from the best.
What we have (even with a double decant for a couple of hours) is a very pleasant, easy drinking, but utterly unmemorable wine. White stone fruit on the nose; soft, fruity palate, but rather thin and light on acidity. Very short finish.
At ~US$15 this would be great, but at ~US$33 it's not a repeat buy for me.
Recalling from my prior tasting experience this needed to be cooled down more than cellar temperature before consumption, this was stored in the refrigerator for about 90 minutes before serving with sushi. Serving temperature was about 48 degrees and it is probably better at 43-45 degrees. Aromatically generous with pronounced Meyer lemon, quince, Asian pear, and herbal tea. On the palate the acidity is not flabby, but it lacks the concentration of a quality Sancerre. This seems to be losing vigor from the prior bottle consumed several months ago. A solid attack with the Meyer lemon predominant but not much else going on. This turns abruptly in the mid palate into a limestone and mineral pastiness without much length.
For the price a respectable wine, but seems to lack the depth and complexity of other cool climate region Sauvignon Blanc. I continue to recommend this to be consumed by 2024, and possibly accelerating that timeline.
Day 1 - Score 88
Day 2 - Half the bottle was stored overnight in the refrigerator. Day 2 the wine cooled down and was served at 43 degrees after warming somewhat before serving. This temperature struck me as being in the right zip code. The acidity had a little more flashiness today where the Meyer lemon fans out on the palate allowing some lime notes to enter along with some salinity and more subtle limestone. A much better tasting experience.
Very nice wine. Not quite the level I was hoping for but still complete, fresh, balanced and amiable. I think this will improve with some more yrs in bottle. 90+
[Holiday @ Domaine Bessière] under Diam 30 cork. Light lemon in color, medium intensity on the nose with aroma’s of (by lack of a better description) sweet green curry sauce, green tea, spices, hint of pineapple, a bit of boxwood, adding complexity but at the background, some nuttiness and nutmeg of the (new) wood. Medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, dry (but with some RS), medium+ finish. Normally not my go to white, but this is a lovely example

Mixed white orchard fruits and a distinct saline and mineral note on the nose. Medium bodied (13.5% ABV) with all white orchard fruit notes both upfront and through the middle and then a lot of citrus and tart fruit notes plus acidity come in on the backside. There's white pear and white melon upfront and then lemon plus acidity behind. Right now, this feels a bit young and on the tart side. As the mid-body opens up a bit more and those tart notes and acidity towards the back come together with the fruit, I think this wine will show more harmony and balance. The sauvignon blanc character is in charge for the moment, without the refining and complexity-adding elements from the semillon. The colder you serve this, the more it will bring out the sauvignon character and the more the tart notes will dominate. I opened this at 51F and let it warm from there, which allows the semillon to enter the picture. At some point, it comes down to a matter of personal preference for the style you're looking for from this wine. Overall, I think it needs more cellar time to show it's best and I'll plan to wait on my next bottle until July 2023. I may also buy some more to track how it evolves as I believe it has a good amount of future potential.
Medium straw hue, slightly viscous, with fat tears around the glass. The nose unfurls fragrant fruit aromas of lemon creme and pineapple along with layers of earthier notes of dried basil, petrol, oyster shell and river rocks. The palate is saline silky with pleasant acidity, finishing long with citrus and buttered popcorn.

Nose is grapefruit, honey, nectarine. A little grassy as well--lots of sauvignon blanc character on the nose. The Semillon comes in with the rich texture and medium acid. 70% sauvignon blanc, 30% Semillon. Very nice, but I could see this unwinding quite a bit with time. For now, it's a really nice example of a fresh white Bordeaux, albeit with a sturdy texture to back up the fruit.

Light+ bodied, modern styling. Slow-ox four hours, room temp. Nose is open with Meyer-like citrus, crisp green apple, and hints of... from-the-pump gasoline? It adds complexity, and it's not similar to Riesling "petrol". Palate follows suit plus ripe melon, walnut shell. Not much length. A nice, easy pleaser. 90-91

Not the most refined or complex aromatics from this Grand Cru Classè, but a lovely wine. Grassy, prickly floral, gooseberry nose, a refreshing palate that is a bit rounder than that suggests.

I’m actually not sure if I drank the. ‘17 or ‘18 of this as I am writing this note a week late and the bottle is gone. I think it was the ‘18 because it was so much different/better than the ‘17 that I had months ago. Intense fruit, great acidity. Rounder and more fruity, less lean than the previous bottle (‘17). This went really well with a spicy stir fry meal. Such a great go to daily drinker
Outstanding. Nose of peaches and fresh mown grass.
On the palate, peaches, honey and lime. The grassy notes are very strong, almost NZ like. Texture is as thick and waxy as you hope it will be. Finish is of fresh squeezed lemonade.
The winning pairing was.. hear me out.. butter chicken! The creaminess and the spice simply amplified the honey and the texture in the wine.
Hits all my buttons. Nose is grassy, lime infused, nicely complex. Palate is light, crisp but with some weight that really adds to the experience. Long crisp finish rounds it out. Really a lovely expression of Bordeaux Blanc. Will buy again.

Served with a clam, pancetta, and mushroom whole wheat linguini dish with cream sauce. Aromatically presents quince, Meyer lemon, grapefruit, and an herbal accent. On the palate this presents an oily texture with grapefruit, lemon, Asian pear, and a limestone minerality. There is good acidic lift on the attack that pulls forward the citrus notes in the mid-palate. A steady stream of acidity through the finish that keeps this crisp and refreshing, while maintaining a balanced compatibility with food. Good cut.
The only flaw was not pulling this earlier from the cellar to cool it down a bit more. Drink this on the young side - now through 2024.

This hit all the notes I was hoping for. Nose is tart gooseberry with light barrel notes Palate is tart, crisp and nicely complex with the nose following through to the palate. Aromas of gooseberry, jasmine , lemon and shortbread . Flavors of mineral, lemon, shortbread, star fruit and gooseberry . Ends with a star fruit and mineral driven finish of 20-25 seconds. A nice white Bordeaux that really shows the Semillon. Could be interesting as this ages.

Drank blind with the Xtremos. All pinned out the SB, tho from different locales. Some, including moi, recognized it as being from Bordeaux given the roundness and softness contributed by the Semillon. Grassy, citrus, minerals, solid acidic core. I loved the chalky minerality that exudes from this wine, particularly on the long, flinty finish. Good fruit level here too, but it's overshadowed by this wine's acidic core. Lovely wine

I'm a fan of Carbonnieux blanc, and have had the 2014, 2015, 2017 and now this 2018 recently.
Certainly at the moment I get Jeff Leve's point - this is a very nice fruity, smooth wine that can be easily enjoyed. It doesn't (yet?) have the complexity of the 2015 in its prime, but maybe that will come in a year or two.

The nose works well with its blend of green apples, Meyer lemon and a touch of floral and there is vibrancy in the fruit as well but this is not a long term drinker. So, enjoy it early in life for all that delicious fruit.

Lovely wine

This is great. Powerful aromas or tropical fruits and minerals. Nice weight on the palate. Really sings now.

Lemon, lime and floral aromatics come through instantly. Sweet juicy, fresh and with a creamy, yellow, citrus character on the palate, this offers a lot of up front, fresh, fruity charm..
