So darn good already. A big, forward, generous aroma of sweet orchard fruit, mineral and kiss of toast. Palate has loads of rich, round citrus-inflected fruit with enough refreshing acidity to offset. Always a bottling that does well on the younger side.

Light almost chartreuse color. Reductive nose. Liked this better on day 2. Nice precision with orchard fruits. Better balance on day 2, day 1 was more acidic. Day one was a 91, day 2 was 92.

Not as full as the Morgeot, more medium bodied. Heavily reductive, doesn’t blow off after 4 hours. This is NOT lush/fruity but linear. Hard to like it at this point. Just needs time.

Uh… did someone accidentally put the grand cru juice into this bottle? Vibrant and simultaneously luxurious, this remarkable 2018 has all the markings of a top tier white burg. Singed ginger, toasted brown sugar, lemon confit, some vanilla undertones, it’s a remarkably high quality, energetic and well concentrated wine, raising the bar for this vintage. Really makes me want to pick up some more moreau!
Held up (accidentally) over two days with only a glass left in the bottle.. impressive!

This just a gorgeous wine very delicate deft touch of lemon peal cream. the wine floats in the mouth with nice minerals. Would have liked to try the 17 version.

Burgundy, Day 4 (Beaune, France): From a plot just below Vergers, this is a wine where the alcohol levels blow up quickly if you're not careful, according to Alex. Indeed, there's more of a fruity roundness on the palate here, but that same linear, mineral cut from the Vergers is still a dominant presence on this wine.

Tasting at Domaine Bernard Moreau with Alex (Chassagne-Montrachet): A step up from the village with more density and intense mineral in the nose. The palate is rich and expansive. Excellent delineation and precision with the mineral and spice really adding nuance. Mouth coating into the finish. 90-92

Domaine Bernard Moreau Cellar Visit and Tasting (Chassagne-Montrachet): Barrel tasting at the domaine. Lots of apple and peach coming across as rich and opulent with good richness and almost as good brightness. Did not come across quite as exciting today vs when tasted a few months ago, but still very good potential.

Domaine Bernard Moreau Cellar Visit and Tasting (Chassagne-Montrachet): Barrel tasting at the domaine, from a once used barrel. Ripe and very pretty aromas with lots of apple, some peach and rich spice. Already coming into balance. So much here with bright mineral textures. Very exciting potential.

Lovely young bottle. Citrus notes, mineral, beautiful fruit that is in balance. Looking forward to seeing how this and it's siblings evolve.
