Men deilig!

ripe if not plump, balanced by mineral vs rs, savory, easy acid, and delicious right now. i like lean and mean Kabinett, but this is "grey" enough in character to offset the vintage

Slight honeyed notes, ripe yellow peaches and tropical fruit, wet river stones and a brisk minerality. Very delicious and light, with good balance, not showing a simple or singular sweet note. This is just starting to develop tertiary notes and is definitely tasty as expected. 93+

A bit on the simpler side for now, sweetness is a tad dominant, if this mellows down over time the wine will be more interesting. Not a bad wine at all but also not one that is very exciting at the moment. Has potential though as it has good bones.

Touch of sponti on the nose. Reductive. But blows off rather quickly. To reveal flinty and elegant slate with tropical-flavors and that Graacher citrus-spiked acidity. Rather juicy and primary at the moment. Ideally, leave it for a few years to flesh out some, but at the same time, it's hard to resist right now.
At Emily Yeong, Paddington. This wine opened very primary with some yeasty ferment touches pushed away quickly by lovely peach, Nashi pear and lemon-lime notes with touches of autumn herbs. The palate is quite linear and while reflecting the nose with distinctive fruit touches remains in need of some age to deepen the overall character and length. There are fine refreshing acid/mineral touches on the finish that provide a fine exit for a wine that is now best left for at least 3 or 4 years.

Made and stored in stainless steel. Only 9% alcohol. This is the most aromatic of the three (comparing to a Washington State and NY State Riesling) Flint, petrol, peach, citrus and a bit of floral notes. The palate is the most oily and sweetest of the three, but there’s also acidity and a savory side. It’s the most complete, but still a little sweet for my personal taste, but can't deny the overall quality and precision.
Pear, grilled lemon and some tropical notes with emphasis on pineapple. The acidity was quite high but and not really integrated. Felt very young and will develope great with time for sure. Lovely wine as always with Prüm.

Sweetly citric nose, candied citrus (sugared grapefruit) with a hint of passionfruit on the palate with a bit of minerality. Med. acidity. I would have preferred it to be a bit higher, but otherwise very nice wine with clear cellaring upside.

This is a beautifully understated off-dry riesling with lime, chamomile and guava on the nose, a lovely creamy midpalate, and a tapered, stony finish which has an intriguing twist of bitter herbs (sorrel?!). This runs the full gamut from seductive ripe tropical fruit to cleansing saline sea-spray. Delightful now but certainly one for medium-term cellaring.

Nose: lime posset, complete with zest, cream, and biscuit. Lime leaf, and an elegant coolness. Ripe greengage plum - flesh and skin. A little sulfur still, but it’s young. Palate: superb juicy acidity, just a touch of spritz when at its coldest. Fruity at this point. Grippy through the mid-palate, and finishing clean and lithe, despite a little more sweetness at the end than I would like from a kabinett. Simpler than I was expecting but very delicious. 9%, $30.

Very good. Scents of canned peach and nectarine are matched by an airy palate showing much the same, with a dose of cream. Could it use more acidity? Yes, but I think that's just the '18 vintage. Lovely stuff regardless, and happy to have more.

Great nose with a little petrol and flint. Palate is lighter, golden fruit and white flowers. A bit fat in the mouth but lengthy finish. If there any quibble I was expecting a bit more cut and verve on the palate. Nice wine.

Not loving it coming off 2019 vintages, but very nice ...It's Prum!
In comparison, 2018 seems restrained with the savory aspects of riesling coming to the fore rather than the explosive fruit/floral in the 2019s. Maybe the wine has just calmed down/gone to sleep some versus the most recent vintage?
This is my first back to back of these wines.

Really light and airy with some creamed stone. Such an interesting difference from the Falkenstein that we usually drink. I guess I'd like it to be a little more intense and focused but the lightness of being here is intriguing. It's been a minute since I've had this wine but it feels like an old friend. Maybe I'll grab a couple to cellar, but it is about 2x the Falkenstein price.

JJ Prum - 2018 range tasting: The aromas are more held back at the moment with a profile of slate and smoke, vanilla cream and lemon. Notes of stone fruits (especially peach and apricot), but it turns around and gives a high burst of acidity with citrus fruits, apple, a bit of pear and the lovely minerality of the Mosel. Slight bit of honey and honeysuckle keeps lingering afterwards. Could definitely use more aging.
