Juicy red fruit, olive, some salinity, good acidity. A little tea and sage. Somewhat tannic without being too sticky. Even better on night 2. A fantastic wine.

Perhaps our expectations were too elevated: this was a fine bottle of pinot noir, evocative of a walk through the forest, but still needing time, and with a clipped finish. But we were expecting something more magical (especially at $110 per bottle) and so were somewhat disappointed. We'll leave our other bottles for a couple of years, at least, and we'll recalibrate our expectations.

IPNC Weekend 2023; 7/26/2023-7/31/2023: Medium dark red color. PNP, drank a glass plus over 90 minutes. Lonny's bottle at The Stephanie Inn. This has a wonderful nose that doesn't need much time to evolve. Lovely dried leaves on the nose, dried herbs, spiced red raspberry, mulberry, silky, medium bodied, and giving way to damp forest floor. 92+ to 93pts.

This is very good in a big pinot way; very ripe red fruits, some oak spice and a hint of vanilla, touch of floral; great ripe fruit on the palate with a rich feel yet plenty of freshness to balance; long finish. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would; it drinks well now with the fruit, but will cruise for a decade easily.

This producer was recommended by a Somm at Pappas Dallas. Great recommendation!! Dark violet red in the glass. Beautiful complex nose on this one. Vanilla, cherry, tea and Chocolate. Some herbs/green as well. Coats the palette. Med high tannins. Can’t wait to open another open in a few years.

Beautiful bouquet of red and black fruits, florals and minerality. On the palate it was very ripe, concentrated, tannic, and hot. I used to really like Antica Terra’s wines before but I think my palate has evolved. Now, I think I prefer the more elegant style of Pinot noir. Not a bad wine by any means but not my cup of tea, at least not at this stage of the bottle’s lifecycle.

Antica Terra Collective Tasting (Brick Hall, Dayton, OR): A great start to the reds in this tasting. This is a deep, dense Pinot with black and red fruit, hints of flowers, tea and earth / limestone. Loads of time, 2023-2033.

Sold to me with much hype since it's from the SQN winemaker, but I don't quite get it. This will need more type and does not have much of the typicity of Oregon pinots. I may have to revisit this one?

Nicliani Portfolio tasting (Beef bar): The wine shows beautiful nose, fragrant, pot pouri, cherries, ethereal, airy, gorgeous and elegant, fine-grained oak. The palate shows the same profile, light, airy easy, smooth and juicy, nice tannins and lively acidity, earthy, a bit decadent, spicy with long finish Outstanding

Beautiful label. Tart cherry, leather and oak on the nose. Some minerals and spice (Piffi?). Dry. Fruity and concentrated. Nice acidety. Red fruit, cherry, minerals and earthy-notes on the palate. Firm, but integrated tannins. Long exit with red berries and vanilla. Some real deal Oregon PN! Wow🍷🍷

Thanksgiving Weekend in Willamette; 11/25/2021-11/27/2021 (Willamette Valley OR): Tasted at Antica Terra. Very meaty black fruit start-to-finish with a woodsiness and good density. Lots of power here, but also lots of tannins in a brooding style for now. I don't know the typical trajectory for this wine, and while I like the wine and appreciate its style, find it hard to anticipate its future, other than knowing it will certainly be very interested as it finds more harmony. 89 points today, and certainly upside from there.

What a superb, everlasting PN from Antica Terra. Medium+ ruby, dense in the glass. The nose is terrific: so rich and dense, lots of top-notch red and black fruits including cherries, blueberries and blackberries, a punch of violet. Palate is plain-sailing and polished, very fine tannins, backbone acidity, lots of earth, and deep bluish fruits, mushrooms. Finish is an absolute 30+ cracker. Thanks for the wine! Even better day two, drinks well now but should hold and improve for a decade.

A bit too Young, but No probs to try it now. A full mouth of dark dust, rusty sand and violet and cherry berries. Its is a wow wine. Grippy tannins and looong.

Deep (not dark) in color and flavor. Red fruits - cherry, cranberry, some pomegranate - but above all, assertively pinot noir. Youthful, the secondary and tertiary elements are still years away, but at present, a delicious bottle.
Rated +1 on a scale of -1 to +3.

A big Pinot Noir indeed. Smelled like Bordeaux. Tasted like Super Tuscan. Reminded me of Sine Qua Non style.

Very good but still plenty of green notes. Sage, bitter blackberry, cherry and mineral. Give it 3-5 years.

Gamy, cherry ripe, blueberry, earthy. Very old world style, maybe a little too much of that. I don’t mind it at all, but Sally is not a fan of it.

PNP into Zalto Universal glass (“Fruit” day): Pale purplish ruby to the eyes.
More of the bluish pinot profile with the marina soil here. Blueberries, darker fruit profile. Some smokiness over time in glass.
Richer, and more tannic than the Gevrey Chambertin tasted alongside. Good length.
93-94 points .

PNP which was a mistake, a little blah for first hour and then started to open up. Give it another year and it will only get better.
