Medium gold with an orange sheen. Fresh citrus, floral and tropical aromas with a pronounced marine note overlaying it all. Medium-bodied, almost viscous through the mid-palate with a saline, oyster shell, and mineral finish. Well-judged acidity. This was a match made in heaven with raw oysters on the half-shell, seared scallops and prawns. I really enjoyed this bottle and will not hesitate to buy again.

Medium gold color Medium aromas of light unripe apple/pear but dominated by mineral aspects of petrol/ dry rocks/ smoke and saline Medium bodied with palate of ripe lemon/ unripe stone fruit with dry herbs and almost a hoppy character - loads of dry minerality on the finish Medium plus acidity and medium alcohol with mild phenolics Nice finish led by laser like minerality and acidity Really nice wine and drinking very well now - maybe 3-5 yrs in cellar may give this wine even more character

Initially reductive nose that led some people to think this was a white Burgundy or Chablis (I served it blind). Medium-dark gold/copper colour gives the impression of more age on the wine than there is. Nose of lanolin, honeycomb, bruised apple, preserved lemon, sea spray. Medium-full bodied with fantastic acidity - I really love the texture of this wine. Showing slight oxidation on the salty palate through to a moderate-length finish. I really enjoyed this wine and look forward to seeing how it develops further over the next couple years.

Not sure if pre-mox got this one. Color was oddly rich and somewhat orange.
Rubber sneakers, salty sea air, some yellow apples.
Tastes like the nose. High acidity. Medium plus finish. Some citrus notes on the back end.
A very interesting wine. Tasting notes were similar to almost two years ago, but the color was odd. I have some 2019s I will be opening in the coming years. Will be interesting to see how those show.

Delightful, I would probably call this a very fine reductive Chablis if tasting blind. Aromas of preserved lemon, green apple, iris, honey, snuffed candle, sea breeze, airy wild herbs... Silky, chalky, tart, salty, this has so much going on, and the reduction is much more integrated on the palate and through the finish. Long tart salty finish, great intensity and complexity. This rules. Should be worth following at least another couple years.

Bought to try at Oinoscent. The wine is made of Listan Blanco, the centenarian 1.5 ha vineyard is located on 600m, on the northeast sloped of Pico del Teide, the mountain volcano of Tenerife. Hand harvested, pressed full cluster into large concrete tanks off the skins and fermented without malolactic. Then raised in 2 Friulian 2500lt oval foudres for 10 months. Bottling without fining, filtration or any added SO2.
The wine shows bright clear straw yellow colour. In the nose, the wine shows medium intensity, quite earthy, fresh grapefruit and citrus, there is a lot of pith/woody elements here. In the palate, the wine shows high intensity, high acidity, very mineral, underripe citrus, lemon, grapefruit, very tight and austere, light body, medium finish. A bit difficult but could work with ceviche, salted fish and dishes with acidity

Another tremendous achievement from the folks of Envínate. Wines like this one and its red counterparts have put Tenerife on the map as a world-class winemaking region. Unique, utterly distinctive, bursting with varietal personality, typicity and terroir expression, they are truly breathtaking. This one in particular is a stand-out example of Listán Blanco, as well as a stand-out example of a "volcanic" wine, and an "Atlantic" wine. We're talking incredible focus and precision, intense acidity/citrus notes (lemon, lenongrass, a touch of grapefruit), almost no sweetness - it's dry and pithy - and spectacular minerality - like stones in a stream, granite in the rain, black volcanic soil with Atlantic sea-spray. There is a long, fresh finish with notable salinity as well, and just a hint of white pepper. A stunner.

100% Palomino from centenarian vines. Fermented spontaneously without MLF. Aged for 10 months in old 2500-liter oak foudres. 11,5% alcohol. Tasted blind.
Slightly hazy pale yellow color. Sweet, somewhat wild and slightly funky nose with aromas of lambic-like leathery funk and phenolic spice, some tropical fruit aromas of browned bananas and mango, a little bit of smoky volcanic character, a hint of savory exotic spices and a salty touch of ocean air. Overall the nose has a somewhat Belgian beer character to it - somewhere between a lambic and a witbier. The wine is lively, dry and somewhat light-bodied on the palate with fresh, acid-driven and slightly wild flavors of lemony citrus fruit, sweet golden apple, some tangy salinity, a little bit of stony minerality, light bretty notes of leather or waxy funk and an oceanic hint of salinity. Very nice, firm and rather high acidity. The finish is firm and lively with nice acid zip and bright flavors of lemony citrus fruits, tart green apples, some tangy salinity, a little bit of pomelo, a hint of leathery funk and a touch of phenolic spice.
This wine screams of volcanic character; its pronounced salinity, sharp lemony citrus fruits and high acidity all point out to volcanic origins. Due to its light body and somewhat lambic-like funky tones it doesn't really remind me of any Santorini I know, so that island is out of the picture. I'd guess either Arinto dos Acores or a Listán Blanco from the Canary Islands. Age-wise the wine seems young, perhaps 3-4 years old. Feels like there's good room for further development, but the wine is drinking really nice right now, so it really doesn't call for any further cellaring. And as it turns out, this actually was Listán Blanco from the Canary Islands! Only 2 years old, so my guess was off by 1-2 years. I'm happy to see I was not that far off.

Belle robe or. Served double blind; I didn't love this, as I thought it was a fairly boring rendition of a "natural wine" without too much terroir. Guessed Jura, but wasn't happy about the call, then saw my previous note, which I stand by - this is a disappointing rendition of this wine.
Made from centenarian Listán Blanco vines in a single 1.5 ha vineyard at 600 metres a.s.l. in the Valle de Orotrava, trained cordon trenzado, fermented in conrete, aged for 10 months in two 2,500 litre foudres from Friulian oak, non malo, bottled unfined and unfiltered, 11.5% ABV. Salinity and spicy minerality, vibrant acidity, tart citrus and aromatic green herbs, light on its feet in relatively delicate style, subtle nuttiness on the finish.

My first wine from Tenerife is who knows how long, and it’s a wonderful reintroduction. The bracing acidity and bright citrus notes hit first, but even more notable are the salty, mineral notes and hovering dry hay and nut skin tones that add an additional layer of complexity. It’s a delicious wine on its own merits, and suggest a huge array of food matching possibilities. Very happy to now have this on my radar.

There's a good wine behind all that natural reduction, but you kind of have to fight through it to get there, and I'm not always willing to do so. I like the volcanic notes, however.

First of the 6 bottles purchased after having the magnificent 2016. P&P. The nose is striking, jumping out of the glass with intensity, fresh, hot stones, citrus and orange peel. The palate is very energetic, a lot of zip. at first the final was a bit short and ended a bit abruptly. it got much better as the night went on. Still young & needs air, but already very good and super promising. 91 points for now.

dark cold smoke and high pitch citrus on the nose; racy straight as an arrow smoke and "a bit of extra air barrels but just as a background drop", citrusy, playfully light but stuffed with extract; 11.5% yes please.

Lime, seashell, seaweed. Wholebunch and skins gave some body, no malo. More mineral than fruit forward. Quite sharp but great with seafood. Better with some air. 91+
