Varietal composition: a blend of 70 % Corvina, 25 % Rondinella and 5 % Molinara. Maturation: aged for eighteen months in large Slavonian oak barrels (2/3) and in Allier barriques (1/3). Color: medium intense ruby-red. Bouquet: shy nose revealing some aromas of red berry and plum fruit, earthy notes and a hint of leather. On the palate: a medium- to full-bodied wine with abundant sour cherry and bramble fruit, a severe texture and a high acidity level. Finish: quite short, rather bitter aftertaste.

Very good. Moderate purple color with watery texture and thin legs. Sweet bouquet and hint of oak on the nose. Sour cherry flavor. Mellow and easy to drink. Good value.

Pale ruby colour. Strong jammed cherries on the nose, some jammed apple also with spice notes. Jammed cherries also in the taste, along with tart cranberries and red currants. Some hinta of leather and oak spice. Medium body, medium tannins, medium high acid. Very good.

Not Expecting much from this moderate Italian red and I didn't get much either. Some Rasberry & Vanilla with very light color way too much acidity on the finish. About worth its price point but not much all.

2017 Masi Campofiorin (Veneto) Medium ruby hue. Cherry, raspberry and vanilla nose. A leaner Old World style with solid structure and focused flavours that last longer than a Springsteen concert. This Amarone inspired Valpolicella Ripasso is a blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes that sings with black cherry, raspberry and cranberry notes. The fresh fruit, crisp acid and soft tannins are harmoniously tuned like an a cappella trio with no single element ever stepping forward for a solo. Although not a head turner at the get go, this wine offers a solid listen and learn (or taste and teach) dabble that will reward pensive partaking with a generous tip after every sip. Definitely better with food (as am I).

Deep red consistent to rim with high optical density and medium, mildly diffuse reflectivity. Aromas show medium intensity, with a simple profile of plum and dusty raspberry over aromatic florals (linalool and rose, along with some menthol). On the palate, full bodied and medium acidity with structured back-end tannins that show some rustic grit, providing a texture that transitions from plush to more angular. Flavours ripe raspberry and potpourri on the attack, with some sour cherry and light gravel. The midpalate is stagnant, showing the same array of simple flavours as the entry, with a final transition that has a zesty twist of bitter orange peel. Settles on a short finish of dried plum peel and leather, with well balanced EtOH. Overall, medium intensity or slightly more and low complexity.
This is a rich and dense red wine that provides excellent value and balance. The slight bitterness and zesty notes would complement a variety of foods, making for a nice table wine. Nice.

This has dry red fruit, a little spice, and firm sense without a ton of tannins on the finish. Appealing, and with some of that old world Italian character and some density.

Red fruit, cherry, Blackberry, oak, vanilla, vague hint of smoke. A bit thin-bodied and flat for my taste. Ok, but probably won't buy again. 3.5*

Not much here. To open for non-enthusiasts. Minimal nose interest. Minimal anything on the palate.

Dark purple
Ripe slightly bigger valpolicella, in a more restrained style than many other Ripassos
Nice
