I rarely open PYCM before age 5+ but wanted to try this due to feedback from others, and recent aquisition of 6 more bottles. Subtle nose upon opening, not the - sometimes - exaggerated gun-flint reduction some cuvees from 5-10 years back showed young. Otherwise classic PYCM-signature with lemon oil, some white stone fruits, flint and oak spices with a subtle sweetness. Not at all tropical. Lovely grip and concentration, fullfilling mid palate and a long, beautifully balanced, acidic exit. 1/3 left for the next day, no significant change. 93+ p with 10-15 years ahead. Next bottle in 2 years.

1 of 7 PnP First time with this … light yellow color, lovely nose of yellow fruits, good intensity, rounder texture than I expected, balanced nice finish … picked up complexity after 90 minutes in the glass. Very solid bottle

PNP. Sage, spearmint, flint, savory elements and lemon spice on the nose. Chalky palate, good medium weight satiny texture with a ton of dry extract and a subtly clenched finish. Lots of acid, this is very densely packed and needs a lot of time to unfurl.
Update on 8/3/23. 1/2 of the bottle spent 4 days in the fridge under a vacu-vin seal. Finished it tonight, and I think it benefited from the extra time being open. The flint was more subtle, and most importantly the fruit seemed more in balance with the chalky backbone structure that was a bit austere on day 1. PYCM wines are built to last!

Burgundy trip 2023; 6/14/2023-6/18/2023: Intensity medium. Lemon oil, banana, ceder, vanilla, nutmeg. Acidity medium(+). Long finish. Rating for me mainly based on the long finish. (Chablis Wine Not, Chablis)

Annual wine trip; Bourgogne & Champage with Bas; 6/14/2023-6/18/2023 (France): [Restaurant purchase] At Chablis Wine Not in Chablis. PYCM is always such a treat, but difficult to find at reasonable prices. At the restaurant they told their allocation is 6 bottles a year… Intensity medium+ on the nose. Lemon oil, banana, ceder, vanilla. Acidity medium(+). Long finish
[Edit] On day 2 even a bit better; softer, rounder with a fair amount of nutmeg present

A wonderfully serene reductive nose of bright lemon driven fruit, well judged stylish oak and a spearminty hint. On the palate mouth-coatingly rich and relatively powerful but well balanced with no extra ripeness. The acidity is absolutely on point and carries the wine well to a thoroughly savory, slightly spicy finish. Very good intensity and length. There is a tangy streak that I really dig.

PYCM Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 2019. Oouufff… Pierre leverer! Forførende og elegant nese med stor intensitet. Litt fatpreg, men ikke skjemmende for min del. Kun litt krydder i tilværelsen. Frukten har bra modning, men bikker ikke over i det hele tatt - meget bra. Fløyelsmyk munnfølelse før den strammer seg opp. Konsentrert med flott dybde og pen friskhet. Nydelig balanse her. Drikker som en Gud nå. Smooth i utgangen. Helt strålende finish med stor bredde og meget lang. Pen mineralitet. Slik du ønsker din hvite burgunder i en varm årgang skal være. 94p

Plenty of wood spice mixing it up with dense, sappy orchard fruits. It is rich and powerful and almost a bit Batard-like. There's a graphite note behind the fruit and a finish that has chalky dry extract and great authority and length.

Quite a big wine, voluptuous - good but not the best example in this vintage

Needs further time for the wood to integrate a little more, but all the materials are there for this to be excellent with some patience.
