Sentimentally attached to this wine and second time round I enjoyed it even more. My note from the night starts: 'F'ing great'... wonderfully rich and layered, some oyster shell, bready depth, apple skins. Lovely

golden colour and fine bubbles, intense nose of red berries, some brioche and a little sweetness. In the mouth a clear note of sour apple, still red berries, mineral, very citric, creamy with lovely fine bubbles. long finish on the citric notes, lovely QPR too!

Beautifully bready: fresh-baked wholemeal. Whispers of strawberry and yellow plum. It’s not austere but it’s definitely a bone dry champagne- just hints of generosity on the nose. Gentle fruit on the palate- I guess you’d call it vinous?
Crystalline acidity with a lingering finish. Nothing blockbuster or powerful about this wine, but it rewards attention.
Opened this one the night Jack was born, drunk alongside some average delivery fried Chicken in front of the TV while trying to keep my eyes open.
Blended from 22 individually vinified Grand Cru parcels, 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. 30% reserve wine.

83 Oct 2022 cork came out very easy, maybe not the best sign for longevity.👃 ripe red apple, yeast. 👅 Homemade lemonade, orange pith, a lean mineral streak through the largely round mouthfeel, black pepper. The color is a pale translucent copper. I'm somewhat curious what this would taste like with more cellar time but doubt I'd like the result. Not a fan.

70% Pinot Noir. 30% Chardonnay. 2017 base grapes. Disgorged in Octorber 2021. Served in Baccarrat small white burgundy glasses. Red-tinged deep gold colour suggesting the skins from the Pinot Noir had been kept in the process longer than typical. Nose is high-toned, high piano notes red apple...very appley, including the red skins. Palate is nicely and refreshingly petillante on entry but then a weight and sharpness of the dominant Pinot Noir cuts in, followed by the definitely bracing low dosage dryness and coppery metallic tang. Somewhat acidic in the stomach if drank without food. This has a scimitar sharpness to it and I don't see ageing doing anything to blunt that. Overall, I liked this but it is definitely not one for Blanc de Blancs lovers.

Not quite as good for me as was what I now realize was the 2013, but still a reliable delivery of the Champagne goods. Bright acidity, chalky lemons; some toasties. Delicious drinking.

Popped from a 375ml bottle. Slightly toast, brioche and ripe apple on the nose. On the palate medium bodied, dry and refreshing, delivering subtle flavors likewise the nose with firm acidity and good mousse. One delicious champagne!
