Minimale Reifenoten, aber noch blutjung, sehr frische, angenehme Säure, mineralisch, Primäraromatik schon minimal in den Hintergrund gewandert. Kann durchaus noch einige Jahre liegen

Worldwide Syrahs ($50 plus) (Edina Country Club): A great wine for the money and has not disappointed yet. Apricots, floral, orange peel and minerals. Balanced and should drink well for five more years.

World Class Syrahs Offline (Edina, MN): Medium gold color. Pop and pour, drank small glass over 15 minutes. I didn't get a lot of time to examine this closely as the reds came fairly quickly upon my arrival, but I must say it was oretty captivating. Vibrant on the nose and palate with bright fruits, peach, tropicals, modest fusil and plenty of stony minerals. The palate really has nice acidity and brings forth a sweetness that surpasses its kabinett level. Long finish. Really drinking nicely.

Spatlese like. Vibrant nose of peach, smoke, slate, candied fruit and melon. A thick wine in the mouth with impressive fruits and spice notes. Medium finish and great acidity. A super star wine to say the least. For under $20 maybe my wine of the year.

Popped and poured. Diesel bomb on the nose. On the palate, peach-driven, quite sweet for a Kabinett, but with decent acid, especially well-chilled. Concentrated flavor. This is still a baby, it could probably sail on for at least another decade. Bargain on clearance for $20.

Quite a bit of residual sugar for a Kabinett, but by no means unbalanced or cloying -- it's got acid to spare, along with alluring peach and pineapple notes and a hint of metal. A true measure of its goodness is how quickly we emptied the bottle. The finish lingers nicely, too. Hard to do much better in this price range.

Drank at friends B-day dinner with Chinese food. Petrol notes coming through, some good fruit, seems like ripeness was a little higher, like spatlese. A little more viscous than typical kabinett. Finish was a little shorter than I would have liked. Friends all liked it alot.

Lively, full of fruit: pineapple, banana, peach, apricot. A bit thicker and more alcoholic than other M-S-R Kabinett, and a bit sweeter than expected; a long and slightly sour, green-apple finish.

Drank at Blue Ginger with the guys. What a great paring with Peranakan food, spice of the food and the spiced flavours of the wine giong perfectly, and the lively acidity and slate/mineral accents in the wine cut through the food to freshen the palate really wel.
Otherwise, the last poster summed up the wine pretty spot-on. White flowers, slight honey-suckle, minerals, smooth and creamy, great balance between sweetness and acid. Shortish finish, but otherwise excellent at its price.

From screwcap. Slightly reduced/sulfur-driven nose. Lively white honey flavors, supported by flinty minerals and bright acidity. Very full bodied, almost creamy mouthfeel. After two days in the fridge, this improved considerably, turning sweeter (Auslese level!) and smoother. Excellent stuff, and a great QPR at $17.

Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.
I have got to join the chorus singing the praises of this wine. Sweet but far from unctuous or too sweet.
Very nice acidity. Textbook Riesling IMHO.

Stimmel's Market: The Last Temptation of Stimmel's (Bowling Green, OH): Big spicy apple nose. Light-medium sweetness, more than would be expected for a Kabinett. Good acidity, with a healthy dose of effervescence. Very grapy, juicy, and a little spicy. $25
