La Villa in the Sky, Brussels. Dry to very dry with more than adequate tension. Nose is reductive with the typical though this does not take center stage with pear and other yellow fruit notes emerging. Sound acidity carries the wine towards medium finish. Medium complexity. A very competent food companion and substitute from many a Chardonnay

I really love these wines from Thibaud Boudignon. This one has been consistent over 5 bottles. Petrol on the noise, honey and lanolin. It’s really excellent, and the SVDs are even better.
(Tasted Blind): Abundant lemon and melon notes on the nose with pear and sherbet. The entry is direct with prominent acidity that builds to that classic crescendo, displaying depth and clear-cut mineral characteristics that become more prominent as this linear-shaped wine establishes itself. The core has pear to add fleshiness and layers of lemon zest to add texture. This smart wine is wonderfully fresh and has a long length enhanced by a piercing acidity.

Popped and poured. Chenin Blanc is not my favorite grape, but this is winning me over as I sip it. Lovely yellow color and viscous legs give this a rich appearance. Cool, pungent peach and apricot aromas, with sea spray, mineral and saline aspects adding the chorus. Big time minerals with steely acidity to cut the fruit. Certainly high-class stuff. Long finish. Very good now, but I bet it gets better and better as it evolves. Wish I were younger so I could find out for myself. 5-13-16-9: 93/100.

This was fantastic. Saline, yellow apples, lemons, smells like a a limestone sport climb drizzled in lemons. So good. The palate really surprised me with the depth of texture, had this lovely creaminess, but it's also really nervy and taut. Love the green apple, lemon, salt, wet limestone and chalk dust. Paired wonderfully with some oysters Rockefeller. Really young, however, and I'd love to see where this goes in three or four years.

Tasted blind. Very stylish modest oak, savory citrusy fruits on the nose. Lively yet understated. On the palate powerful without much weight at all. The acidity is absolutely fantastic and the overall feel is vibrant and energetic. Ripeness absolutely on point. This is a top level dry Chenin that sports glorious fruit and has a nervous quality to it. Producer is bound to be legendary, I feel. Felt Chablis-esque, which was my first guess.

Made with biodynamically farmed, hand-harvested fruit from high-density vineyards that are 35 years old on average. Fermented spontaneously in a combination of stainless steel tanks, oak barrels and egg-shaped concrete tanks. Boudignon aims to make wines without malolactic fermentation, but as he doesn't block it, some lots can go through MLF. Aged in a combination of 228-, 350- and 500-liter oak barrels from Stockinger - only a small portion of barrels were new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with a tiny addition of SO2. 14% alcohol. Tasted blind.
Pale, youthful and quite translucent lemon-yellow color. Fresh, youthful and lively nose of fresh apples and white peaches, some cool steely mineral notes, a little bit of zesty lemony, light herby nuances, a crunchy hint of cantaloupe and a subtle creamy touch of oak. The wine feels dry and precise yet quite ripe, dense and even quite concentrated on the palate with a medium-to-moderately full body and intense, youthful flavors of fresh white peach, some honeyed waxy tones, a little bit of cantaloupe, light mineral notes of crushed rocks, a hint of herby spice and a creamy touch of oak. There's definitely some obvious sense of power and extraction, but instead of coming across as heavy or ponderous, the wine feels very focused, precise and full packed with minerality. The lemony acidity gives the wine wonderful sense of structure, freshness and intensity. The finish is juicy, very ripe and lengthy with a very mineral and quite powerful aftertaste of ripe red apples and cantaloupe, some steely mineral tones, a little bit of honeyed richness, light mineral notes of crushed rocks, a hint of lemony citrus fruits and a faint touch of creamy old oak character.
A very powerful, mineral and impressive Chenin Blanc that is packed with ripeness, yet the wine doesn't feel ripe per se - it's not big, heavy or soft in any way. You just sense the ripeness as this sense of concentration, extraction and intensity, but with all that acidity and minerality the balance here is really on point. However, the wine is still remarkably youthful in character, making it come across as a bit nervous and even slightly primary. The wine is really brimming with quality, but it seems to be more about future potential than drinkability and instant charm. Most likely just a couple of years of aging will do very little to this wine, so my recommendation is to let it age for at least a good handful of years. This was really an outstanding wine and I really need to keep the producer name in mind - very rarely a young Anjou Chenin blows your socks off like this wine did!

Blind tasting at La Butte restaurant Plouguerneau France : decanted quickly : hay, sorrel at the nose. Nice palate salty with freshness, perfect balance ending so fine on fresh Provence thyme.

Stunning wine, dripping with honey and pink lady apple. Clean and crystalline with great mid palate intensity and a lip smacking finish. Really good, and a big step up from the 2018 in my opinion

Excellent. Some of the qualities of a good riesling, but quite different. Decent acidity and fruit. Feels like this will be good for years if stored properly. Cheers!

Popped yesterday, in the fridge overnight. On the nose: lovely chenin character: sweet apple, a hint of lanolin, nettle and a slight waxiness. On the palate: vibrant acidity, crushed rock drenched in lemon oil and lemon, soft apple and fantasric density. Simultaneously complex and quaffable. Wow. Maybe the best vintage I have had of this wine.
Le premier jour, c’etait tres tart. Le deuxieme jour, l’acidite s’est intégré, laissant place a une belle salinite, fruite et complexite. On aurait cru un premier cru de chablis.

Light yellow jasmine in colour; lifted aromas of fresh orchard fruits, pressed yellow flowers and chalk dust. A strident malic-edged acid open entry is assuaged by Williams pear flesh and Golden delicious apple pulp. Delineated, with a wonderful gait, the acid builds to a crescendo unleashing mineral, sea salt, crushed stone, and a real edginess. A well put together wine, down the line Anjou that is nicely fleshed out with pear and apple puree with a short to medium length.

Honning, brød, gær, ananas, østers. Syre og friskhed og den fornemmelse af champagne uden bobler, jeg altid får I munden på chenin. Frisk, let, spændstig og en lille smule bitterhed. Forrygende vin - især på dag 2.

Bright lemon citrus against notes of limestone and chalk on the nose. Dry and crisp, the wine leads with notes of mandarine and tangerine, apple blossom and fresh herbs. The wine is decidedly softer on night two, the mouthfeel more round - leans to apples and pears, and stone fruits.

Very well-balanced. Medium+ acidity; less acidic than the 2015 vintage of the same. On the crisper side for Chenin Blanc, as opposed to the flabby/wooly/hay end of the spectrum. A final glass or two was left in the bottle for a few days, and it ultimately tasted fine, but was showing some oaky tones after having been open that long. Quite happy to have more bottles on the way.

brilliant and classic Chenin expression with lots of orange wedges, a quite big body with some wet wool (lanolin) and white tea. Acidity to cut through a lamb rack, soft palate and a precise point of balance. Now or several years later. So good.
