  • More chiseled than 2018. Lemon, lemon curd, fresh grapefruit, salty salinity

  • Medium yellow in the glass, pronounced, developing aromas of quince, green and yellow apple, pear, orchard blossom, lemon zest, lemon oil, vanilla, cream, yougurt, brioche, toast, and wet stones/saline, some cheesiness on the finish. In the mouth, the wine is dry, high acid, med bodied, med alcohol, pronounced flavor intensity with a long finish. Overall, very good-> outstanding with a few more years. Drink now or hold.

  • Tasted after 30 minutes of air. Still tight. This needs time to open. Tangy apple and pear fruit. Some mineral. Saline. Some richness here. Excellent balance.

  • Pale to mid straw. Initially very grippy with lots of dry extract evident. Chewy and moth filling against good line and crisp zip. Lithe but pithy. Opens nicely to show some florality. Still a baby, this would benefit from a few years to round out through the middle and add some complexity to the mineral notes. ****

  • Agree with the general consensus here - a mineral driven, lithe, and tactful version of the Richards Cuvée. Now that I got the 1st of three finished, I’ll let my remaining bottles sleep for a spell, perhaps 5 to 7 year before the next one.

  • Love this tonight - some tart apples on the palate, briskness on the nose. This is drinking great now, but has a lot of time in front of it.

  • Wonderful body and texture in an 11.8% package.

  • Mainly Oregon (Noizé): Blind. Lighter straw. More savoury. Mineral, lithe but not lean, a really mineral density here without any weight. Chalky chewy texture. This may need some time and air. ****

  • Decanted. Now 2h later. Somewhat shy aromas of tart apples, some parmesan cheese, minerals, and a bit of flowers. Palate w gala apples, minerals, some flowers. Nice acids on med-full bodies frame. More minerals come out on the midpalate w a smidge of parmesan cheese. Nice mineral finish w tart apples and some lemon. Still somewhat coiled and holding back. I think this will be pretty awesome w some age. Open last bottle at the 10y mark or later. 91+

  • PnPed. (From a Conterno Sensory.) Beautiful right out of the gate. Perfumed and precise and assertive nose - white florals, pollen, mint, rocks, lemon, some oak, saline and salty nuts. This feels more coiled than the 19 Temperance Hill. Just as good on the palate - saturates with lemon peel and zest, salty rocks, mint. Both the nose and palate are so crisp, clean and focused and so full of flavor. The finish is lemon rind, mint, salty rocks - really saline and it puts the salivary glands into overdrive. I don't think I would guess domestic blinded, and this has a lot of what I look for in White Burgundy. Honestly I like this better than a lot of White Burgs I've had at 2-3 times the price. After tasting the Temperance Hill I wrote Marcus and bought some more of that and this wine (I had only gotten 1&1 to try.) But now I think I might go back for even more. This is superb and I'm very interested to see how it develops in the next few days. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17.5/20.

  • Pop and poured, drunk over several hours.

Citrus pith, asian pear, jasmine, and a sense of stoniness- minerality on the nose. Toothsome and intense yet still mid weighted at most. This has a chiseled stoniness and terrific depth on the palate, yet dances on the palate with a sense of lightness that belies its hidden power and depth. It is like the regular Whistling Ridge was focused and distilled into a tighter and more serious frame, yet kept a sense of delicacy and fleeting beauty. More citrus fruit, pear, subtle white florals, and a sense of stoniness on the palate. Reminds me of Lamy's En Remilly. Weightless power. I bet this shines even more in time. Youthfully outstanding. 94

With air time, this fleshes out a bit and gains more floral jasmine like notes.

  • Tart and tightly coiled, loads of lemon, Smarties candies, skim milk. So young and gorgeous, needs time in the air or just time. Preferred closer to room temp than with a chill.

  • Young, tense and quite delicious already
Lemon/lime notes with some sea air, green spice and lively acidity. Over several hours the wine blooms with fuller mouthfeel and toasty green apple.

  • Dense with russeted apple skin and crystals and maybe a bit of musk melon. This needs years.

  • Loving this wine. RieslingHoader nailed it (although admittedly I would never have had identified the seashell note!). Time to refill on this one, I'm hooked.

  • Nose is pretty shut down on PnP, but comes to life after about 15-20 minutes and coming up to a better temp - pear, melon, lime, some warm spice and reductive aromas. All class on the palate - can tell from the jump. Citrus dominated for me. Lighter in weight than I had guessed beforehand - I'd say light to medium in body. Great purity of fruit here. Finishes crisp. Quite a racy effort.

  • Decanted for about 2 hours before pouring into a Grassl Cru.

Flint, lime peel, fresh pear, and a top note of smoke. There is an evanescent mineral note of wet seashells that presents itself when giving the wine more air in the glass. Bright and fresh, with focused acidity on the palate, and an excellent purity of citrus and orchard fruit that continues onto a long finish. Delicious juice!

  • Reticent nose; more about potential right now, and noticeably more coiled than the Whistling Ridge. But I really like where I think this is headed.

Another glass of this on day 2; the nose is a little more open right now, a hint of reduction, and sweet & sour white fruit on the nose (I periodically get a whiff of a scent I would call unripe pineapple).

Focused, with lively acidity on the palate - less coiled than last night, but this wine is still quite primary. But a young version of delicious, if that makes any sense.
