You know, I never think about decanting a white wine, but I think I may try with my next bottle of this. When first popped, this was pretty coiled up, with a tart edge to the citrusy fruit. Some matchstick and saline. After this had been open a while, and warmed up a little, it was excellent. The fruit picked up some white tones, maybe pear and apple, and the saline really popped. Thirst quenching acidity. Alcohol in 12 something range I think. Delicious.
Really, really good. I have no idea what possessed me to open this so soon (for me), but wow I'm glad I did. Just 113 cases were produced, and at the $35 release price, this is drinking well-above its modest cost. Moreover, it's deeply satisfying, to the point I'll be guarding my remaining bottles - from me! - for a few more years. What a great experience. PnP, served non-blind, followed over 2 1/2 hours as several bottles were also open. highly recommended

Chalky, mouth filling with lemon curd, minerals, and florals, and with hazelnuts on the lingering finish. When I drink this, I ask why even bother with white Burgundy. This more than scratches that itch.
A refreshing style (literally and figuratively)... surprisingly light-bodied, yet rather supple and easygoing rather than at all screechy, and avoiding the increasingly tedious tendency towards Chardonnay with aggressive reduction. Grass and citrus on the soft, welcoming nose, and maybe a hint of cream. The action is on the palate though, really, which was dominated by notably concentrated fruit and an intensely juicy and persistent finish. I found this slightly too intellectual to enjoy unreservedly without food, but on the other hand it was definitely worth letting that finish linger without distraction. Very good.

A touch richer than the '19 Whistling Ridge tasted a couple of days ago. Mandarin oil, fennel, hazelnut. A textural and gastronomic wine with real weight on the palate. Marcus aptly put it, ‘very much in the key of Meursault’

Pure class! What strikes me first(noticed this in the 19 Richards as well) is the IMPECCABLE balance this has, and the weightlessness it carries, yet totally packed with flavor and feel! Amazing concentrated goodness at 12.5 abv. Pure crystalline orchard fruits with a little tropical flair...candied lemon pucker...creamy white flower florals...very nuanced flint strike reduction...salty crushed minerals showing a wonderful tautness and precision, yet that balanced honey butter sheen really makes for an appealing texture...just KILLER finish of chalky dry extract and refreshing citrus sours...move over Walter Scott...might just be my new favorite white Burgundy killer from the OR!!!

Light yellow with a faint green hue. Nose is inexpressive although there is sea air, a trace of green mellon and a whiff of smoke that disappears. Crystalline purity with a generous and expansive midpalate where it feels yellow fruited and saline yet dry and precise. Very refreshing with good concentration and lingering finish. So good. From Zalto Universal. 12.5% ABV east facing vineyard dry farmed and 113 cases and stoppered with Diam10.

Mainly Oregon (Noizé): Blind. Similar to W8 (Goodfellow Richard’s19), but more tropical fruit without being overdone. More density of fruit too. Some melon and a hint of pineapple with a pinch of smoke. ****

Excellent chardonnay! Citrus and stony on opening, then unfurled over the next hour or so to show beautiful florals. Terrific structure and length. Loved it.

I opened it and immediately poured off one glass, and then filled two 125 mL bottles and put those in the fridge. I let the glass warm up a bit and also left the remains in the bottle to warm and get some air. Drank everything except the two 125 mL bottles over about 5 hours.
The nose is salt and sea shells and white flowers and other citrusy stuff I can’t identify. It tastes of lemon, lemon cream, and a tiny hint of honey or something along those lines. Balanced perfectly for my tastes, and maybe the longest finish of any domestic Chardonnay that I’ve had to date. The flavors were still getting more intense when I finished off the bottle.
Day 2: Still singing. It seemed like the note I had identified as "tiny hint of honey or something like that" had resolved to peach. Or it was peach all along and I just didn't identify it as such yesterday. But it seemed much stronger on day 2 and was clearly peach.

Helluva wine for the price, needs air and to warm up quite a bit coming out of the fridge. Very young. Flavors of lemon, cream, some floral notes, fresh apple.

Lemon drop, florals, and a sense of soil. Light to midweighted, graceful and beautifully balanced. This achieves the difficult marriage of intensity without weight. There is plenty going on, it is all just whispered, dancing on the palate. It's subtle and beautifully detailed with a terrific sense of minerality. The fruit on the palate is more lemon than asian pear, with lovely jasmine florals, and sweet tart. What I love the most is the sense of fleeting beauty and effortlessness to the wine. This is a wine of harmony with its mouthwateringly fresh fruit beautifully balanced to its acidity and stoniness. Delicious. 93+

Lightweight texture with concentrated flavors of lemon, lime, and some really lovely earth minerals. This is world class chardonnay for a reasonable price.

Very drinkable, nice structure. Medium acidity. Very tasty stuff. A big hit among my non wine drinking friends who think whites are generally monolithic

Pop and pour. Served at cellar temp. - about 55F. Tasted and then allowed it to warm up a bit as the bottle sat at room temp. Light straw color. Almost clear as it poured. Initially, lemon oil and some lemongrass. Gave the bottle a chill. With a little chill, the wine showed a wet stone note on the nose along with a sea spray touch. Different than when it was warmer temp. Much greater depth. It opened up moving to add some white peach, granny smith apple and also almond skin. Enjoyable.

This is delicious. I thought there was some lime and green apple, along with a dry, saline finish. Very drinkable now, but I think there is some substance there that should allow this to drink well for a while.

My first time trying the new vintage. Wow, open and delicious. Reticent nose vaguely reminiscent of Chablis. This goes down dangerously easy. I’ve been buying Durant Chardonnay from Marcus since the 2014 vintage, and this may be the most immediately accessible version I can recall. Sweet and tart white fruit on the palate, with good acidity for lift.
