Very classic riesling nose with a hint of petrol. Palate lacks concentration. No obvious flaws, but also not great or interesting. Disappointing for the price and there are better options in the region. But I'd still drink it if it was poured for me.

The balance here is spot-on: acidity, body, fruit. A fine and characteristic Riesling if not wildly characterful. The nose is full of lime, which gives way to a bit of petrol. This got better with air over the course of the evening, and I will wait a bit on my other bottles.

This is a fantastic Dry Riesling from the FLX region. First vintage for the Paul Hobbs vineyard and I feel like this will be a hard one to follow up on. Tangy in a fruity way and refreshing.

By the glass at the winery. Nose is really cool: green mango, exotic spices (curry powder?!) chamomile tea. Palate is racy and expressive with green almond, mango, more savory, exotic spices. Really wild (but delicious!) expression of dry Riesling.

Clear, light, pale green. Cut green apple on the nose. In the mouth, fresh and clean acidity in the opening, lime, peaches, and pineapple. A touch of mineral and herbaceous basil and fennel come through in the mid and lingers into the finish. The fruit warms up and grows sweeter, bringing more peach and a floral touch while the acidity wears off in the finish.
EDIT: I tasted this together with a handful of other Finger Lakes dry rieslings and said in my comparison that the Hillick and Hobbs is probably the "easiest drinking" of the bunch as it is a bit sweeter than the others, however it was my second favorite overall, as is still pretty tight and focused.

Quite an interesting wine tonight. Tasting with Paul's daughter Augustina at CBCC. This began the night and was by far the most unexpected. It is not sweet but rather tight and dry. Grippy is the word I would use. I generally was not offended and was also not overly convinced of its status of status "must find" wine. For now 87

The wine is pale straw in color with medium aromas of green apple, lemon and honeysuckle blossom. On the palate there were notes of apple, lemon and a subtle hint of petrol. The wine was medium acidity, dry with a hint of sweetness. It was a nice pairing with shrimp scampi pasta.

very, Very, VERY light gold and crystal clear in the glass. Aromas and taste were rather subtle. Tasty, but will require a closer look when the next bottle is opened.

Eye: pale straw color. Nose: floral, peaches, apples. Palate: crisp, great structure, medium body with medium to long finish with very elegant residual sweetness. Reminiscent of a Nahe

White flowers, lime, and slate on the nose. Tastes of lime and apple and pear fruit,. Beam of minerality persists from entry to finish. Medium+ acidity but not too tart. Surprisingly creamy texture. Not bone dry like some. Quite lovely! 91-92. Enjoyed with Gary, Andy and Gayle at Hyde Park.

A sweetish wine with a very fresh aromatic and mouthfeel. Apple, some fennel seed and a tremendous amount of limestone. The limestone dominates the mid pallete and this juice is just loaded with acidity. A puppy of a wine which is worth hunting down as it will age and improve.

Pale straw color. Great aromas of citrus, wet stone, under ripe white peach and some honeysuckle. Similar flavors on the palate with definite limestone/minerality coming through and a smooth mouthfeel. Nice balance of fruit and acid. Really well made FLX Riesling.

Great representation of FLX Riesling! The malolactic fermentation softens the acidity nicely, bruised apple and lime zest on the nose, with a hint of petrol. Lots of green apple, lime, and wet stone on the palate, with an impressively lengthy finish

Fantastic wine for the price. Opens up with sour apple, stone fruit and citrus notes. Very long finish for a Riesling thanks to the nice acidity that helps to finish with floral and spice notes on the way out.

Notes of peach, and typical Reisling "petrol". Though dry, with spicy food has a big of a 'sweet' component. Very nice wine.
