Round 2. Much better than the previous bottle consumed late last year. A return to what I expect, suggesting the previous bottle perhaps wasn't perfect (or I didn't give it enough time!).
Much better mouthfeel, composed black fruit and red fruit palate. Small amount of oak coming through via notes of vanilla. Medium finish.
I would be a buyer again at Costco pricing // $40-50, but above that, I think I would rather put my dollars elsewhere.

Wine Paris Fair, with more Napa cab Culture than last year... well MW Studies oblige :) need to taste all those cabs more and more !!! what a shame 😏 !
It's really a favorite of mine, with still the austerity from last year, but more opened and less tannic, with still that fresh feel, contained refinement ! It's Bordeaux es que in its best possible way !
Not overly long, but who cares as the wine is pure joy and balanced oak mixed with perfectly integrated acidity !
Really a stunning wine, with both potential (95/6) and accessibility ! Ill buy some ! and maybe Martha's if I can afford that b.... h

Really enjoyed this wine, I was worried that despite the reputation as a more “classic” Napa producer, that the wine would be too jammy for my palate, but this was not the case. Though the fruit was forward, it was quite vibrant and fresh, and the wine was well balanced over all. Best after 2 hours decant. Nose of red cherry, vanilla, dill, blackberry jam. Palate with medium plus plus acidity, moderate well integrated tannins, medium bodied, long finish, mild EtOH. Tempted to buy more and hold, and interested in sampling their first tier wines for comparison.

Two of two bottles from Costco were corked. Both wines had their corks completely saturated with the wine. Beware of this and don’t buy it from Costco.

PNP. Bought at local ABC store on Oahu. Overpaid at $89. Idk if it needs a decant or more time in bottle. It’s very tight but the fruit isn’t really pronounced. All black fruit. Earthy but not really complex. Unbalanced towards acidity at this point. Not great

Deep dark reddish-purple in color. Full, forward, & fragrant aromas of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & cassis with lovely overtones of dusty/earthy & floral notes, mint, cocoa, spices, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with cocoa, spices, minerals & a hint of vanilla/oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging.

Enjoyed this very much at a tasting some months ago and picked up a couple of bottles. This bottle was a little tart and frankly, underwhelming. Perhaps our tastebuds were off or the bottle was.

A nice wine. It’s certainly too young to be opened now. The quality is there. It opens sharp, and there’s more on the nose than on the palate early. After some time in the decanter, it opens up, but several more years in the bottles will definitely improve it. Red fruits shine through, with a spine of graphite and a touch of spice on the finish. The tannins are tight but smooth, showing lots of acidity, with an very linear finish. I think best after 2025, and should age through to 2040 with no problem. Potential for 94+ points at its best.

Honestly, slightly underwhelmed. It was quite thin and lacked the richer mouthfeel that I enjoy. Relative to the bottle I had 9 months ago which I would give a 92/93 this is probably a 90. Albeit I can't recall the vintage from 9 months ago.
I didn't get much black fruit at all, it was almost entirely red to my palate. Cherry, raspberry for sure, with an almost violet like aroma. Clear pepper and mint, and a small amount of oak coming through via notes of vanilla and tobacco. Relatively short finish.
Will hold the other bottle for a 3-5 years to see how it develops.

Oakville AVA tasting (67 Pall Mall): Big fan of Heitz, and quite a distinctive style in a room full of Oakville producers. Saturated red fruit profile: some cherry, raspberry, mint, green pepper and licquorice. Fresh acidity, a medium/full body, smooth tannins. The length on the finish isn't anything to write home about but you feel this has good potential to fill out and develop complexity with age.

Long time I wanted to have a taste of those, it did not disappoint although to me it is quite difficult to be fair with such big wines, they are so young and bold !
Deep Purple, dark profound wine, with ripe black berry and the touch of herbaceous pepper we expect, it is loaded with black forrest fruits and some strong oak flavors, but does not feel unbalanced or overwhelming per say.
Palate is bold, big and full bodied with high acidity and concentrated fruit flavors of forrest fruits, blackberry and bramble. It is super fresh altogether and the sweet feel makes it quite easy to taste and even drink.
it is by far the best cabernet bland tasted at the fair along with way more expensive wines I did not even rated as they were boringly boring ...

Eye: Opaque black-red center to a medium ruby rim.
Nose: Tremendously fruit forward. Plum, cherry, strawberry. A touch of cigar box. Mildly vinous.
Palate: Surprisingly gentle tannins. Nice bright acidity. The flavor profile is similar to the nose, with a greater amount of tobacco and cassis.
Finish: Medium length. Plum sauce, tobacco, mint.
Overall: A very enjoyable California classic.

Beautiful beautiful wine. 1.5 hour decant. Subtle black fruit, earthy tones. Palate had great acidity for a cab with beautiful tannin structure.
