I've had this bottle since 2014 and it is still drinking beautifully. Great by itself or with a chocolate dessert. An exotic blend of Touriga, Muscadelle, Tinta Molle, Tinta Cao, Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre. Deep amber to pale tawny, with some sediment. Intense caramel, mocha, chocolate, dried figs, hazelnuts, dried cherries. The palate is lusciously sweet, somewhat balanced by the med (+) acidity and med (-) tannin. Full-bodied, with pronounced flavor intensity and a long finish. Best served cool. It is drinking beautifully now and is quite age worthy. A great value.

Half bottle sipped on over two evenings, alongside some dark chocolate on the second. Brownish orange but fairly vivid, looking and tasting somewhat caramelized, accompanied by notes of molasses, walnuts, and slightly burnt orange peel. Viscous but lively. Straightforward, yummy, excellent for the price.

The Museum Reserve continues to be a great value in tawny. Light molasses and hazelnut with enough heat to let you know you're drinking a fortified quaff.

Caramel, almonds throughout. Balanced alcohol with the sweetness, has a long finish. Not quite the layering of a 20 year tawny from Portugal, but great QPR.

This is a blend of Touriga, Muscadelle, Tinta Molle, Tinta Cao, Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre. Deep amber to pale tawny in color. The nose is clean and medium (+) to pronounced in intensity, with aromas of caramel, mocha, white chocolate, dried figs, hazelnuts, dried cherries. The nose is between an Oloroso and a PX sherry. The palate is luscious and consistent with the nose. The mouthfeel is unctuously smooth yet balanced by the medium (+) acidity. The alcohol is noticeable at 19% abv, but this is essentially medium (+) for a fortified wine. This is a full-bodied "sticky" with a pronounced flavor intensity anda long finish. Serve on the colder side. It is drinking beautifully now and is likely to remain at this level for quite some time. WS gave it a 91 in 2012.

Beautiful burnt, flame copper appearance with green/golden rim. Spiced cider, orange peel, caramel, dates, spice box, cedar, minerals, and a touch of smoke abound in this complex tawny. It's so tenaciously thick, sweet, and sticky, I wouldn't blame anyone for pouring some over their pancakes.

Delicious but oh so sweet. It mellowed out after a couple weeks (opened and recorked). Explosive nose of candied apricot, honey and clove. Strong alcohol smell. A lot of other people picked out a lot of various smells and tastes, but all I can say is that it tastes of raisins. I'm not picking up any maple, or honey, of vanilla. It is very sweet though. I look for more of a caramel flavor in tawny ports, and this more like in between a tawny and a ruby.

10yr Tawny, medium-light amber color, not much nose, creamier than Warre's Optima 10, a little sweeter than I prefer, some tannins, a little hot at finish, like 375ml size so don't have to consume as quickly, would drink again but probably not repurchase.

Deep, heavy wine. Tastes more like a fortified banyuls than a true tawny. Liked the packaging more than the wine :) Had a reclosable stopper rather than normal cork and I think that's appropriate given the intensity of flavor in a small glass. Deep amber and burnt orange colour. Ripe, aromatic nose with Golden syrup, raisins, prunes and BBQ'd toffee bananas. Full bodied, but not syrupy. Unctuous and sweet but balanced by the firm acidity. On the palate there is an incredible array of clearly defined but intense flavours: Maraschino cherry, candied orange peel, toffee popcorn and dense dark chocolate. Fabulous length on the finish; creamy hazlenut yoghurt and nutty Ferrero Roche flavours linger for minutes. Superb. A dessert in itself.

Nose: Surprised to pick up some tropical fruit - guava. At times, this nose packs some serious heat, otherwise it shows caramel, scotch whisky, chocolate, and a hint of wax. Palate: Caramel and a hint of raisin on the attack, serious heat developing on the mid-palate, followed by a mouthful of a finish - butter, butterscotch, popcorn, kettlecorn, corn syrup. Finish just won't stop. Packs a punch but so delicious.

Cesare's Group (Home - Minnesota): This had been opened for a couple of months, sitting on the kitchen counter. Late in the evening's tasting, we decided to see if it was any good......it turned out to be very good. I continue to believe that the Yalumba Museum Tawny needs some time open before it shows its best character. Though I didn't write a tasting note when I originally opened this, I generally find that this wine is good but perhaps a bit harsh on opening. "Lacks integration" would be the best summary. Invariably, if I forget about an open bottle for 4-8 weeks and revisit it, I'm stunned by the transformation. Smooth, rich, sweet, boozy, resolved. A great wine and a great finish to the evening.

Pauillac & St Julien (Chicago): Very nice wine to finish a meal. I got a lot of walnut on the nose here, followed by the concentrated and sweet palate, which buffered any signs of the alcohol. Very nice.

Chicago Wine Geeks - Pauillac and St. Julien Tasting (Chicago, IL): Pure and focused with loads of toffee, honey and figs. Rich and concentrated in the mouth. Flavorful long finish. (4+13+17+7=91).

Fantastic dessert wine for the price. Brick red in color. Port-like with great caramel flavor

Poured at a retailer tasting. Amber color. Nutty, with nice floral and toffee aromas. Viscous and rich. Flavors of toffee and nuts, sweet finish.

This is 19% abv, yet it doesn't show. Deep amber, caramel color, with notes of caramel, fresh cream, toffee and almonds. Rich and viscous, with caramel, toffee and spices on the palate. Long finish. 92-93 pts.

A real treat at 6000 ft on a backpacking trip. The half-bottle was just about right.

Well done. Rich layers of roasted almonds, creme caramel, and burnt orange peel. Consumed over a few days and it never held back at any point. Finish was a touch hotter than anticipated, though it wasn't overbearing. Very hard to beat this, especially at price point.

Notes of hazelnut, raisins. Light on the palate. I prefer the muscat -- it has more complexity. But this is still a good QPR.

This is a high quality port. Ready to drink out of the bottle, but better if let air for a couple hours before drinking. Notes of hazelnut, caramel, toffee, slight raisins. Surprisingly light on the palate.
