Very light lemony colour. Nose with good intensity of gentle grassy aromas, peach, lemon and even some exotic fruit. Rounded palate with some weight, round and refreshing at the same time. Just seemed to me a little tired, oterwise very nice - haven't tasted a more recent vintage so I cannot really tell.

Melon on the nose and citrus fruits (grapefruit, lemon) on the palate. Crisp and vibrant, although a little one-dimensional. Quite acidic on the finish and paired well with a tomato-based pasta sauce. Good wine for the price. Drink now.

Label: Robert Mondavi created the first Fume Blanc in 1966. A crisp, barrel-aged wine that captured the vivid character of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Our Fume Blanc exhibits bright citrus, melon, floral and mineral character from Napa Valley vineyards, and a silky texture from sur lie barrel aging.
Review: This 2006 Fume Blanc has the color of watery lemonade. I get aromas of white peaches, lychee, subtle rose pedal and a hint of cantaloupe and baby powder. Flavors of green fruits, peaches, and sprite. Lively acidity on a long finish.

crisp sweet and citrusy, but with creamy body. good hot weather wine. very drinkable. flavors of grapefruit and pear. sarah says sweet. I say no. we agree not as sweet as a viogner, but sweeter than souvenon blanc, pinot gris etc.

Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm.... Wow, that was nice! Fresh, ripe pear on the nose, great silky texture, acidity right where it should be, good melon and mineral combination, complex yet subtle.. Overall a fantastic wine!

Heard a lot about this wine but don't understand the excitement.
It was simply "okay" -- lemon (more like sour lemon) prevailed, maybe some apricot or peach, but that was about all. Very little mid-palate and no finish.

Smells of nectarine, lemon, and straw. Taste is a bit tingly with an overriding lemon quality that leaves a bitter/tart aftertaste that's light enough to not be offensive. Not complex and not my favorite but decent enough

A very light white wine with shimmer of silver and gold. There is a very fruity nose, Melon, citrus. The taste is a crisp fruit up front, more melon, plum with tight middle and long acidic finish very delightful, great with a piquant fish and sauce with dill and white sauce. 92

Giving this another try after the surprisingly good glass we had in Napa a few months back, the nose delivered what I'd seen before, but it was even more overtly tropical, with lichee, lime, some sweetened gooseberry notes and white flowers. But the midpalate really turned out to be the definition of hollow. Quite a letdown after the promise provided by the nose. Ok overall.

No specific notes other than I remember strong hints of green apple with some citrus and the wine was just a bit 'buttery.' Still a pretty decent wine for my tastes even though I prefer a crisper SB.

Delicious floral and citrus on the nose, reminiscent of a viognier but sav blanc. Mouthfeel light and juicy with tons of citrus and some tropical flavors. Refreshing and no unpleasant after tastes.

Visit to Napa; 6/7/2008-6/10/2008 (Napa Valley): Nearly clear in the glass. Shows classic SB aromas of gooseberry and grass, but has a tropical edge to it. The tropical flavors come out in the mouth, where I was surprised by the purity of fruit, with no discernable oak. This is an SB with some restraint, an excellent example of the style. Very well done, I liked it much more than I expected.

A fresh, bright nose of tropical fruit and honeysuckle gives way to flavors of honeydew melon, pear, and flint, with a firm dose of sweet oak and spice on the finish. This is a restrained, elegant Sauvignon Blanc that pays homage to the minerally SBs of France while staying true to its core of ripe Napa fruit. The wine strikes a delicate balance between fruit, mineral, and wood. In a world of sterile stainless steel-fermented SBs, it's actually a pleasure to taste some oak in this wine. The addition of 9% Semillon softens the flavors and texture and adds depth. This wine is quite attractive in a sea of like-minded SBs.

Nothing too complex here but I enjoy this wine and it has sufficient body/character to go with many foods.
