  • Holy smokes this wine is absolutely stunning right now!! Energy that jump right out of the glass with a finish that just goes on forever.

A smart decision by DJ to present this wine along side the 2021 which has all the potential to be as good as my favorite OVR to date.

Early drinking window with 20+ years to go.

I have no doubt this will reach perfection for my palate.

    98++

  • One of my favorite Keplinger OVR bottlings to date. I've been wanting to check in on this for a while now and our family trips to the mountains are my favorite place to enjoy special bottles.

Opened side by side with Abreu Madrona Ranch 11. The Keplinger OVR delivers verve with a beautiful mix of red/black bramble fruits. Savory with a touch of sweet, delivered on a long finish. Great right out of the gate at PNP and present energy on day two.

    96+ Drink or Hold.

  • PnP and consumed over a couple of hours. Already well integrated and delicious. Dark fruits with a hint of cocoa and silky tannins. WOTN for all four of us.

  • PnP needed time but still really good dark fruit. One hour later angels singing. Well done Helen.

  • Fantastic representation of Oakville by Keplinger! Wow, it's hard to believe this is 2015. PNP with a beautiful balance of fruit and earth. Consumed over two days and it only got better. One of my favorites of the trip.

Tasted along side the following wines in Mountain Village Telluride at 10,000'.

    16 Outpost True Vineyard
    13 Dakota Shy
    12 Odette Reserve
    12 Blankiet Rive Droite

  • Stunningly great young Cabernet, so well balanced, excellent mouthfeel. Very well made. Everything is so well integrated, drinks like a 10 or 15-year-old Cabernet, wonder how this will be down the road.

  • What an amazing wine! Decided to buy a few bottles on the recommendation of LITEITONFIRE and I wasn’t disappointed. Started with a few ounces upon opening and the wine was acidic and closed. Decided to decant for about two hours and the wine became a beast. Seductive bouquet of dark, black fruit complimented by a beautiful opaque color, I was soon to be hooked. After two hours of anticipation I found the wine to be at that plateau when the taste screams “I’m at that level where few wines reach”. Notes of bramble, fig, plum and a touch of cedar, this wine is definitely not a fruit bomb. More of an understated elegance that sneaks up on you. 96 for now and some upside with a bit of patience.

  • As I said a month ago - what an absolute home run the duo of this wine and the 2015 Carte Blanche are. Bravo Helen! as the other poster said. Definitely not a fruit bomb, and definitely not austere. This is not for the AFWE, but not for the cough syrup crowd either.

  • 1.5 hour in decanter. Excellent wine that still needs time but outstanding now. By hour 2 (30 minutes in glass) (with NY Strip) this wine evolves and grows to become a top wine of the vintage without question. Keplinger continues to surprise and impress and I can’t wait to pop one per year and watch it grow. This is not a fruit bomb nor is it austere or too dry. Well done- excellent.

  • Best cab in many months. Between this and the 2015 Carte Blanche I am a BELIEVER in Helen Keplinger.
