A bit past its prime but still enjoyable. Much softer in its later years but still reminds you that it has legs. Light strawberry on the palate finished silky smooth.

Dark, indigo-tinged ruby red. Aromas of wild cherries, black currant, blackberries, exotic spices, espresso, caramel, and vanilla. Bright nose for an Oakville. Very ripe and full mid-palate with well integrated, fine tannins and a smoke-laden, lean finish. The toasty oak is somewhat restrained and compliments the dark fruit and allspice notes well. Very well balanced. Will benefit from some aging, but drinks very well now.

Initial sweetness and fruit nicely framed by tannins that dio not overpower. Time in the glass brings the fruit front and center to this wine. Not as complex as my llast tasting and probably indicative of an evolutionary stage rather than a wine growing more simple. Still very good but I believe patience will be rewarded.

An easy-drinking Cab with dark cherry and vanilla. Nice finish.
Although this is very flavorful it is amazingly light on its feet for a Napa Cab - a nice change of pace. You won't be disappointed if you open this now but it will definitely improve with some age.

Initial Impression: Nose is deep, brooding and complex. On the palate, instantly complex with black fruit, chocolate and earth. Mid-palate is rough, as I would expect and the finish is very long and viscous in the mouth. A very strong start out of the bottle showing depth and structure.
15 Minutes: The elements have come together for a very harmonious feel. The wine seems a bit lighter than my first impression, but the overall feel, flavor, balance and finish create a very seductive package. Very enjoyable at this point, I see why others are excited about this wine.
45 Minutes: Continues to improve, deepening further, a larger, rounder mouth-feel gives it additional weight and concentration. This appears to be one of those rare wines that is both delicious young and built to age. Bravo to these guys. Highly recommended.

California Wine Night (Sam's South Loop - Chicago, IL): Tasted at the 2008 Sam's South Loop Grand California Night Event. Astounding! I am so excited that I have a bottle of the '04 in my cellar. I'm telling you -- this cult cab will soon be two or three times what's it's being sold for today. So much lush berries and well integrated tannins.

Cheval at Heidi's: Popped and poured. The nose offers a big, primary whallop of oak and dark fruit. In the mouth this delivers big, soft fruit with very little structure discernable. My palate was pretty fatigued at this point, so I don't really have a good sense of where this is heading.

Big nose of dark fruit, fruit and minerals taste nice finish with mild tannins. Bottle age has been good for this wine.

2005 Oakville East Exposure cab. New producer for me: vanilla, dark fruit, spice, restrained tannins. 20 second finish.

Nose of coffee, spice and fruit. More red-fruited than many Napa Cabs and shows nice restraint. In a nice spot right now.

No doubt this is an Oakville Cab. Cherry, vanilla and spice. Flavorful, but elegant. 92+
