Popped, poured, consumed from Zalto Universal over 90 minutes. This has developed nicely since last tasting 6 years ago and I believe it will continue to develop, but wonderful for drinking now.

Thrilling Champagne, sauteed mushrooms, freshly baked bread crust, chalk and slate, lemon and apple. The Extra Brut dosage shows through on the Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs, making it tight and precise. So delicious, drink this wine now. love it, love it.

(Disgorged in 2009, 100% Chardonnay) Yellow colour with a very pleasant nose showing minerals, honey and grass notes in a maturing way. Palate was showing lots of intensity with fresh herbal notes and a lovely honey smooth finish. This was better together with food, feeling more smooth and accessible. When trying after a long dinner this had really transformed and felt very accessible. So, in need of more cellar time to open up! (Probably best 2024-2034)

Opened and had a glass yesterday. Properly recorked, back in the fridge, and TN from today. What happens to 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay in the hands of a Champagne master? THIS is what happens. Tiny bubbles, with aromas of red apple, yeast, old mushroom, and chalk. On the palate, slightly rich for a BdB, possibly due to the bottle age. Perfectly toasty bread crust flavor, with green and red apple, then grapefruit zest, followed by stewed mushrooms and a rocky minerality. This is so freaking good. I am not sure how much longer I would wait, as it is truly at an apogee right now in my opinion. Drink now through 2018. Stunning.

Notes of lime, minerality, but also a vegetal note that was interesting, as well as some smoke. It’s medium-full bodied with medium-high acidity adding freshness. There is a lot of tension here. Very good length. It’s fuller in body than the Pierre Peters Chetillons 2002 tasted next to it, but it still tastes very precise.

Popped and poured. Fine mousse, wonderful balance of poached pear, yeast, and citrus tones, refreshing acidity and flesh with a lengthy crisp and succulent finish. Lovely now, but still seems young like it could easily reward further cellaring.

Pale straw appearnce with delicate bubbles. Nose of carmelised apples & poached pears. First senasation on palate is of sweetness which quickly gives way to a great freshness. The finish is long with the frshness transforming into a buttery rich mouth

Gorgeous, fine mousse. This wine is med lemon color, nose of yeast and biscuit, with a lemony citrus profile. On the palate, searing acidity, which if u like (I do!), is to die for. The citrus fruits sing on the palate, with medium tannins and med+ finish of chalk and minerality. This wine is just entering into its drinking window, and will be fabulous over the next 10+ yrs. Absolutely gorgeous.

At The Broadmoor/Summit. One of the top 10 Champagne I've ever had. And, to be sure, the loveliest 04 I've ever had. Hauntingly beautiful. Thank you, Zack. Score: A+

At The Broadmoor/Summit. One of the top 3 Champagne of 2011. Full entry, precisely focused acids and fruit. I'd be happy to drink this each day for the rest of my life. Loads of personality and class. Thank you, Zack. Score: A+

Gorgeous wine. Bone dry and conveying a sense of crystalline purity with salty lemon fruit wound around a chalky mineral core. Cramant's distinctive power:subtlety juxtaposition is on full display here. If anybody wants a short lesson on Cramant terroir, pour this wine side-by-side with Diebolt-Vallois' Cuvée Préstige. There are green tones inside the wine that identify it as a 2004; they don't intrude but rather add an earthy, Swiss chard stalk-like complexity that makes the wine more appetizing. Zesty and tingling with energy in the mouth, this fizz is so refreshing I could drink it all night long (and I just might!) If there's one knock on the wine, it's its rather clipped finish. I will try to give this wine another five years (2016) to flesh out before I open my next bottle.

Lagra

Chalk, biscuits, lime and quince - an elegant melange of aromas and flavors is exhibited here. Good mousse, slight savory note on the midpalate but a nice finish of toasted almonds and quince. A really nice champagne that's elegant more than grand.

Elegant & quite complex chardonnay nose with some toasty notes. Dry, but great richness builds on palate. Became more and more interesting with air. Delicious! Need to try again in 2-3 years.

Delicious. Brioche and yeast, lovely fruit - a slightly bitter finish hints that this could benefit from another 3-4 years of aging.
