Held up surprisingly well considering it’s 14 years old. Didn’t really have high expectations but have to say it was smooth and juicy and got better as it opened. Juicy blackberry, leather, mocha, and chocolate.

Super! Delicious right now and good concentration. It has everything i expected for this wine - dark berry fruits, wild cherry, good acidity, earthy, licorice, smooth tannins, a hint of chocolate, quite complex, and long after taste. This is a keeper and great PQR. Well rewarded for my patient. Too bad it is my last bottle.

One of the last of those Sam's luncheon bargains. If you like intense concentration then this is for you; even the bubbles in the glass on pouring were purple. Heady dense berry aromas, plus some perfumed oaky notes. Coats the palate with strident, extracted fruit, firmly structured, lingering finish.
I cannot understand those who thought years ago this was past its prime - far from it. Years of life remain if you had not drunk all the bottles. Also, it is hard to conceive of getting a better value in concentrated cab than this.

Fine nose with some Espresso and toast, with some dried currants. Round smooth palate with integrated palate. Cassis and currants with mint and a vegetal tone. Mocha, tar, and earthy on the finish. Rather simple. Integrated tannins. Slightly past peak.

Good semi-dark color and nice bouquet with notes of coconut and candies, and some pepper that is not very prominent. Good medium weight mouth feel and finish. Has the delicious factor. Do not hold it any more, it is at the peak and I suspect it will decline from now on.

I decanted the wine for 45 minutes before I poured it back into the bottle and consumed it over four evenings (vacuum-pumped).
On day one the wine offered intense cassis aromas, blueberry, dark cocoa powder and vanilla on the nose. On the palate the wine showed lots of cassis, and blueberries, and I really loved the long, slightly sweet finish with vanilla, cinnamon and cocoa powder. The tannins were very smooth. The wine had a plush mouth-feel and was very balanced. The wine was so seductive, it made me take sip after sip. I am not a Chilean Cab fan, but this wine was extremely delicious and much better than I expected. I rated the wine 90 points on day one.
On day two however, the wine still was very good, but less smooth and less spectacular (88). On day three the nose changed slightly, now showing gooseberries, white currant and balsamic vinegar, and the wine became even less round (87). Identical notes for day four (87).
The wine was spectacular on day one considering its price and appeared to be very well made, but it lost its plushness and its delicious factor from day two. I would definitely by this wine again and would drink it young.

Opened up nicely. On the nose: really got the French oak. Very enjoyable wine, alot of flavour and will not disappoint anyone that purchases or ages this wine. But it is not over 90 "complex" in terms of flavour - some complexity, but not the knock your socks off wine. I would recomment purchasing and enjoying this wine and you will be satisfied. But no angels will sing when you drink it.

Plums and blueberriess on the nose; luscious dark fruit flavors, more blueberries, a touch of vanilla, and lovely dark notes (chocolate), a bit of spice, perfectly integrated tannins, and a lingering finish. It went surprisingly well with home-smoked pulled pork - the fruitiness and sweet darkness were a wonderful complement to the smoke, vinegar-tomato, and brown sugar in the barbecue. Such a great qpr as well.

Ran out of this wine, so went out and got another six pack. Popped and poured. Dark purple. Nice nose of dark fruit and oak. Fruit-forward, medium-to-full palate of ripe dark fruit, expresso, anise, and vanilla. Excellent length. Lively acidity. Youthful but mild tannins. Well balanced. A bit simple, but very good. Great QPR!

Dark purple, floral and inviting, smooth full bodied dark fruits, tar, toasted oak and chocolate in a most balanced wine. The best wine value I've found. The 2005 and 2006 are of about equal endeavors. One would have to look at something like a $50 - $65+ bottle of a Stag's Leap variety in a California wine to compete with the power and finesse of this value priced Chilean.

This is an amazing wine. The color is very dark red. There is a mild floral bouquet. The fruit is plum and black cherry with a backbone of tanin and oak. All the elements are in harmony with each other. This is one of the more perfect wines I have ever had. It held up very well to broiled loin lamb chops and sauteed mushrooms. When one considers the price, this has to be one of the best wine bargains in the world

Perhaps a tad less rich than the 2005 (that may change with another year or two in the bottle), this is still a magnificent wine. Dark purple, fragarant , displaying true varietal character, this wine has layer upon layer of berry flavors perfectly complemented by just the right touch of oak. Marques de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the greatest wine bargains in the world. It tastes like what wine should taste like! The 2006 is still a bit young, and benefits from decanting and an hour or two of breathing. But try it. You won't be disappointed.

Not a detailed note: I first had this vintage 7 months ago. At that time, it was edgy and young. The edges have rounded and while it is still rather young, its fruit is bold and dominant without being cloying or jammy. Dark fruit, juicy with good acidity and background tannins. Full body. Nice lingering finish. A solid cab that will improve with some time in the cellar.

Not much of a nose. This had a bit of tart cherry and a fair amount of oak and heat and tannins. Not as balanced and smooth as I would have liked; perhaps this was a slightly subpar bottle. Or, it might need another couple of years to settle.

Very dark purple in color. The nose is full of espresso, black currant. The currant holds on through the palate then vanilla, oak and earthy dark chocolate kick in as well. Very long and tannic finish. Need a little more time in bottle but excellent now.

This full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon is dark purple in color with aromas of tobacco and currants. It tastes of vanilla, raspberries and cherries. There is a nice structure and is quite balanced. At $15.55 this is a big win for the price!

Maybe this was an off bottle, but still had a dense core of cassis and cherry, but had a horribly distracting nose of iron or burnt rubber that persisted through the palate and made this undrinkable for me. I've experienced this odor in other Chilean wines, but never this distracting. This wasn't as noticeable in '05 or '04 which I enjoyed greatly. Obviously was otherwise a well made wine with good char and earthy notes.

Very rich and generous nose of ripe red fruit, peppery spice, olives, hint of oak. Palette is very lush with sweet fruit and hint of clove. Medium tannin with moderate structure. Finishes with red apple skins and is shorter lived than I'd like. This is a yummy Cab that is an excellent Cali alternative at <$20. 89 points.

Popped and poured. Dark purple. Nose of blackberry, vanilla, faint licorice, and earth. Nice medium to full palate with ripe dark fruit, minerals, espresso, refreshing acidity, and supple tannins. Balanced and elegant. Long finish with a hint of bitters at the end. Youthful, but drinking well. Should be good for several years. This is my favorite Marques de Casa Concha Cab since the '03. GREAT QPR!

This shows an impressive image with an eye catching-dense violet color. Its elegance and well-defined structure is in your face. Yes, love at first sight. The aromas out of its bouquet are well integrated. For instance, you will definitely smell: earth, spices, tobacco, leather, oak and dark as well as red berries. On the palate, one can savor the previously described elements in a well structured fashion. One of the predominant qualities of this wine, I would say, is its ever evolving enhancement once opened, by the minute. I would definitely continue to buy it at the current $17-20 range. It is worthy! My score is a firm 91. But again its affordable price moves it up a notch: 92 it is.

Dark purple. The nose is very Bordeaux like IMHO. Lots of black currant and earthy notes. Very nice flavours and a long balanced finish. There were no green notes. This wine is a great value. It lacks the concentration and drama of the Don Melchor but at 1/3 the cost what can you expect. Very good.

Nose: ripe red fruits, some mint, oak and hints of coffee. Mouth: firm tannins, chocolate, mild mint, not adstringent, oaky, good texture. In brief, this wine has everything you would expect from an well made wine from Chile. It's very good wine, but it lacks some complexity.

drank along with 2004 Don Melchor - apart form the rougher tannins it was surprising close for the price.

(2+) Drank 2nd day after Monica opened the bottle on Saturday - finished Mother’s Day after drinking Stefania Syrah and Banfi Brunello. Much better this time - very nice nose and well-balanced. If they’re all like this this is a very good QPR.

Purple color. Nose of dark fruits (mostly blackberry, some cassis) smoke. Similar palate with some vanilla, oak, cedar. Decent tannins. Fun with a chicken marsala at a BYO restaurant.
