Great moment to open the bottle. I guess de dry tannins will not go away. Nevertheless you get the full bordeaux-kick. Wished a few more (sweet) fruitiness bur the complexity is there. Good buy for a fair price

Coravin fun - Bordeaux (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas of brambles over blackcurrant with a little sour plum, sweet spice, a little pyrazine, cedar, leather, earth, wet leaves. Medium plus intensity acidity is juicy, fleshy, blackcurrant more to the fore on the palate, tight, slightly chalky tannins persists long and finishes with a little pyrazine and cedar. Nice.

No decant. Drinking well with tannins resolved. Smell of wood, leather, tobacco and slightly pepper. Taste of black berries, blue berries and cherries. Very smooth and balance. It is fully mature and drinking well now. Delicious!

From Coravin. Tasted as a potential candidate for Sunday lunch (lost out to an 04 Lynch Moussas). Aromas of cream, blackcurrant, touch of capscium, sweet and savoury spice, a little bramble and earth. Primary sliding to tertiary on the nose. In the mouth it's juicy, fleshy with talc textured and slightly drying tannins, slight alcohol warmth, a sense of breadth across the mid palate, the fruit is a little more sour here as well. For me this was still a little too primary to play with the roast beef and veg...Nice though.

This is a great wine and demonstrates the benefit of cellaring our wines. Although past its ‘official’ drinking window it is still going strong. Forest floor, tobaccoand red fruit aromas. Soft and well integrated tannins and cherry notes. Perhaps a little too oaky. My last bottle, alas.

My last remaining bottle, this is in a perfect spot and really doesn't need decanting. Everything is in harmony and it is smooth on the palate, but with a little residual bite on the finish. This was great value for money at the time but it is a shame that prices from the estate have hiked over the last few years.

Didn’t take notes. Good wine. Not yet fully integrated. Oak slightly overwhelmes at beginning. Needs decant and time for fruit to come out. Level of fruit in line with expectation for 2007 weaker vintage. Nice earthy complexity.
Think it would be good in a few years for those who like fully mature wines.

Last tasted a year ago, this has pretty much peaked and is drinking beautifully. The flavour profile is as previous notes, but the wine has acquired a real elegance with resolved tannin and excellent balance on the palate and finish. My only question is longevity, and I think this is a wine for sooner rather than later, and probably should be consumed over the next 5 years.

This has finally hit full stride and is drinking beautifully. The tannin has sweetened and everything is in good balance with the fruit still evident. The finish is a little short. but it is inconsequential to the overall enjoyment. I do wish critics would stop giving over early drinking recommendations. This has 'been ready for optimum drinking' according to commentators for the last five years on what at that stage was a pretty ordinary drinker. It has only just started to peak, and I feel that I have wasted my first dozen bottles. Minimum decanting is needed.

This has really opened up over the last six months and is a real treat. Needing air but there is no imperative to decant. It has great balance with the tannins now sweetened, and has the structure to be enjoyed for another 5 years or so. 89+

Medium bodied, easy drinking, fully mature wine showing equal amounts of secondary, earth, tobacco and forest aromatics as red fruit, this requires drinking over the next 3-5 years.

A reasonable wine but lacking fruit. The nose is a little green and the on the palate the gripping tannins dominate. It does relent a little after time in the glass and there is good balance, but the tannin is still the primary presence. It hasn't really moved on from a year ago and I would hope that there will be evolvement in the not too distant future.

With Sirloin steak then vintage cheddar, P&P drank over 4hrs. Nice typicity on the nose, cabernet all day. Not marked at all by 2007 meanness, round & beautifully balanced. Perhaps lacking a little complexity, but in a great place just now. Good QPR at the £25/bt mark.

Developed very well. Probably in it's most convenient and approachable phase. Consumed over two days without special decanting. Very good and typical nose, full body with pretty well integrated tannins for this vintage and strong finish. Final bottle unfortunately. Drink now or hold on for few more years. Deep dark red center, red rim with signs of age. Meaty, black plums and blackcurrant, chillies, smoked bacon. Smooth, brambles, briar, touch of greenness, integrated oak, modest tannin, very good length. Very good claret from a not so great vintage, drinking well now.

Complex mix of distinct paprika, blueberry, earth, plum, some cedar and cabage at the nose. Abundant and nicely focused. Concentrated on the palate, nice balance of fruit and secondary aromas, medium-full body, some earth and dust. Strong impression on the mid-palate, vibrant but with mellowed tannins and great freshness. Impressive wine, delicious.

Great wine! Quite toasted and burned on the nose with a hint of butter, bread, fudge, bell pepper and earth. Slim body, but with good concentration and less green stuff than I would have expected from the vintage. There is a slight tartness to the tannins, but nothing that won't go away with a handful of years in the cellar. Still drinks very nicely now for us that has no problems with tannins!

I've bought my last bottle of Gloria. I've never had a Gloria that met expectations, much less exceeded them. I've been reading that the Gloria 2007 is in a sweet spot right now -- a classic claret on its plateau of maturity. It has a nice core of fruit, but its grittiness and astringency get in the way of a satisfactory wine. I found it somewhat disjointed, and lacking integration and harmony. Deep garnet appearance. Roasted aromas and flavors of black currants, blackberries, and violets frame notes of wet earth, black truffles, pencil shavings, tobacco, and Asian spices. The medium bodied palate has a pleasant graphite mid-note and displays espresso and granitic minerality on the slightly austere finish. Like other 2007 Bordeaux this is ready now, but it has enough structure to cellar a few more years. 89+

Slightly earthy aroma and taste. Surprisingly little acid, very gentle tannins. Simple, non-complex wine. Disappointing for a Gloria, but enjoyable all the same. Probably not going to develop too much more, but I might buy a few more bottles to keep a while.

Doubledecanted and drank after 30 min which seemed enough to allow the typical aromas of cedar, pencil and blackcurrant to appear. Not hugely convincing in taste but there is a good balance between fruit and soft tannins if you like your wines light in style. A bit short taste but still a surprisingly good and pleasing Bordeaux. The 2007 vintage may not be that bad after all...
