The wine is clear and medium gold in colour. The nose is clean with pronounced inaromas of citrus fruit (candied lemon), stone fruit (peach), green fruit (pear), tropical fruit (pineapple), spice (cinnamon), oak (vanilla, cloves), mlf (cream, butter), tertiary (honey, nuts), fruit development (baked apple). The wine is developing. The palate is dry, with medium acidity, medium (+) alcohol, full body, pronounced intensity flavours of baked apple, peach, candied lemon, pineapple, almonds, vanilla, cream. The finish is long. The wine is very rich with glycerol mouth feel. The wine is outstanding in quality. The wine is complex from primary, secondary and tertiary elements and has pronounced intensity flavours. The finish is long and the acid, fruit and oak are well balanced. The wine should be drunk now and is not suitable for further ageing. The primary fruits are starting to fade a bit now and the wine has aged quite noticeably in the last 18 months - colour and tertiary flavours. Drink in the next 6-12 months.

Clear, golden yellow, slightly fading to the rim. Clean nose, buttery, hazelnuts, vanilla, peaches, citrus fruits, very rich. Full palate, still nice acid backbone, long finish. Excellent. Has been a favourite wine ever since 1995 when we drank it on the evening I proposed to my wife, and this 2006 vintage doesn't disappoint. No hurry to drink.

Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of soaked pears, yellow apples, hazelnut and talc. Flavors of lemon, Granny Smith apples, yellow pears and a bit of minerals on the finish. Medium to bright acidity, full bodied. Drink over the short term. This was my last bottle sadly.

An Eclectic Bring Your Own Red Night (Los Olivos, CA): Very similar to the last bottle, with a bit more heft and richness. Complex floral nose of tropical fruit and sweet spices. Full bodied, with that glycerined texture this wine often features. Flavors of citrus, pear and apple. Medium to long finish, with plenty of balanced acidity. Not for the oak averse but I find this a great use of new oak. No rush to drink.

From a 750. Performing exactly where a Cervaro should be. Complex floral nose with of tropical fruit and sweet spices. Full bodied, with that touch of glycerin this wine often features. Flavors of citrus, pear and apple. Medium to long finish, with plenty of balanced acidity to standup up to the truffled celeriac soup that accompanied it.

Very full bodied, powerful, proncounced white - full of layers of aromas, nuttiness, dried fruit, very ripe apples and oak. At peak now, should be drunk within 3 -5 years. Went really well with meat dishes - suckling pig and even mild lamb. Cheers!

A bit disappointing actually. I love Antinori's chardonnay blend. Every bottle I've opened (about a dozen) has rated at least a 91. But this one, served with stone crabs the day after Christmas, was a bit light and less interesting than I remember other bottles being. It was missing the pronounced tropical fruit nose that the 2005's had. Also on the palate this seemed to have less mineral flavor and kiss of oak than the previous vintages, according to my notes. Oh well, on to the 2007's.

Wow. Bought this on the close out rack for $5, so I was not expecting much given the age. Golden color. Not a particularly expressive nose, but a smooth, agreeable citrus and buttery palate. The moderate length vanilla finish is marred by some slight late bitter notes - probably due to improper storage retail storage for all these years. But the craftsmanship shines.

Tasted blind from a 375ml bottle, I guessed a high end white Burgundy, maybe a 1er cru Puligny-Montrachet or even a Batard-Montrachet from a warm vintage. Fairly dark yellow with golden and some green hues. Intense roast almonds, lemon, green apple and minerality on the nose. Medium+ bodied with bright fruit, minerality and balancing acidity. Long aftertaste.

Equivelant of a Burgundy premier cru. Medium lemon with intense MLF aromas of butter & hazelnut wrapped around a core of stone fruit and pear. Hints of flowers/honeysuckle. Creamy with refreshing acidity and medium alcohol and body. Some minerality is also there. Overall an outstanding wine from ripe and fresh fruit, that is expressive and well structured. Oak is fantastic bringing all elements together. Chardonnay with Grechetto. Viva Italia!

From 375 ml bottle. Yellow-gold with greenish hues. Initially reductive aromas that faded out quickly to give way to peachy, buttery, citrus and mellon aromas with nicely integrated roasted almond-like oak. Full bodied, dense and creamy with sweetness, big fruit, balancing acidity and a long and delicious aftertaste of roasted almonds. Much more evolved compared to the 2007 recently tasted, mainly due to smaller bottle size (plus an extra year in the bottle).

From 375 ml bottle. Signifficantly more mature than the 2007 I drank a few days ago from a 750 ml bottle (1 more year in the bottle plus smaller bottle size have resulted in this remarkable difference between the two bottlings concerning the stage of evolvment). Dark yellow gold with some green hues. Initially reductive aromas that fade fast with aeration. Then, sweet roasted oak, butter, peach, citrus, green apples and vanilla with minerality in the background. Full-bodied, very smooth, quite dense but not jammy, with very rich fruit, nicely integrated oak and a long, fantastic aftertaste of roasted almonds. I believe this wine can evolve further in the bottle. Concerning its style, it stands between a 1er cru Cote de Beaune and a New World chard.

Very nice: reminds me of the Peay chards of 2005 and 2006. Crisp, full, good weight, nice balance. The 15% Grechetto makes for a very appealing structural component. I would certainly look to buy more of this, especially if found at under $40.

Had this with scallops in a butter, champagne grape and toasted almond sauce. The butter in the sauce was slightly too much for the wine, but we really loved this one, as before. Was not oaked that much, very nice fruit, less pear and apple than something rounder and more full bodied. However, not tropical fruit flavored either. Would highly recommend and in such a different style than many other wines.

Tried a glass from a new bottle at Taverne zum Schäfli. The wine showed a straw bright yellow in the glass. Creamed vanilla notes from the new oak are dominant and suppress the fruit underneath. Overaoked. Improves a little with time and the fruit becomes just detectable making it more pleasent. Not the style I like.

Fantastic Italian white, with great floral aromatics, almost like a Condrieu. On the palate, some vanilla, pear and anise, follow by unexpected flourish of high-toned acetone or even petrol (like an Alsatian Riesling). Paired beautifully with a warm seafood salad over baby arugula. Probably in early maturity stage and would like to try again in 1-2 years. Impressive.

TWC 5-Year Anniversary Dinner (Crush Wine Bar, Toronto, Canada): A blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Grechetto from Umbria. Beautiful, tropical nose of vanilla, honey, peach, apricot, jasmine, and oak. Full-bodied, bone dry, with great (almost bracing) acidity. Shows notes of lemon, minerals, apple, and pencil shavings on the palate. Moderate-long finish with more minerals and white fruit. Delicious, and should be consumed over the next few years.

Italy 2008 (Italy): WIML95
Tasted at Badia a Passignano. Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Georgeous floral nose with seducing aromas of passion fruit, nutmeg and Mehjool dates. Full flavors of pears, apples, pineapples and lemon zest on the medium to long finish. Bright acidity, medium to full body. Drink or hold. This is one of the best young drinking Cervaros I've ever tasted from Antinori. Well done and highly recommended.

Very nice subtle fruit. Not a powerful wine. Maybe even a little thin.
