Just loved sticking my nose in this over and over, then tasting the delightful acids on the long creamy viscous finish, similar to first 2+ years ago and likely a bit better. Fantastic foil with smoked trout and med. couscous plus salty cheeses.

Beautiful evolution. Petrol is still upfront on the nose but layered with notes of pineapple and peaches. The palate is also surprisingly rich in tropical fruits with a mineral backbone and clean acidic finish balancing a fair amount of sugar as well. Time to start drinking over the next couple of years.

Big nose of petrol, honey and white fruit just jumps out of the glass. Delicious notes of apricot, quince, and honeyed star fruit with nice acid cut across the palette with a luscious almost creamy zing. Aging like a charm, this over-delivers with excellent QPR.

Nice and delicious. Nose of a mechanics shop. Diesel, and earth. Medium and mouth coating. Pleasing sweetness but not lacking with a hit of acid and transitioning to a mineral, slate finish. Sexy little wine.

Pale straw color. Blast of petrol on the nose that dissipates with time; also peaches and flowers. Medium weight. Sweet but with searing acidity to balance. Salinity on the long finish.

Ripe! Fragrant and spilling over with flavor. Sweet but balanced by great acidity, minerality and overall complexity. Borderline effervescent. Very sippable and pleasing. Love the nose. Strong buy at 18 bucks.

Forgot how delicious this is. Chalk, lilies, lime, apple, tropical fruit, and minerals on the nose. Apple, orange, lime, minerals, and tropical fruits on the palate. There's a nice richness to the wine. Good balancing acidity, a touch of bitterness, and a nice finish. Most importantly the deliciousness factor is very, very high. 90-91

Tropical fruits and minerals, decent balance, not at all flabby but rich for a kabinett-- comes across somewhere between kabinett and spatlese, despite 07 vintage "classic" conditions.

One tasty riesling that comes loaded with tropical fruits that almost lens towards a muscat but really light and refreshing. Not as dry as I was expecting for 8% alc. I really liked the flinty tone on the finish. Drank this bottle alone but will try the next one with some spicy foods.

Fresco tasting dinner. Sweet Fuji apples lead the way to apricot and white plums on the nose. The fore-palate gets a touch of sweetness but there is plenty of minerality and acidity to back it up. Quite nice.

Tasted at wine tasting. Pale yellow color in the glass. Peaches and fruit on the nose. Sweet on the front palate then the acidity hits as the wine approaches the back of the palate, then you notice the citrus on the finish. Great balance of sweet and acid. Great Riesling.

excellent and well made Riesling; beautiful honeysuckle sweetness, very fresh and vibrant and a subtle lemon/lime tartness on the finsih that provides the acidic balance we all like (advice to self: try to hold off and let this bottle get some age -- should really impove and gain complexity w/ some years)

Virtual Community Tasting Event (VCTE) V - A Month of Rieslings; 7/25/2009-8/31/2009: COLOR: Very pale straw. NOSE: Rather closed. What was present was mostly mineral and floral. It was nice, just hard to find. It opened up as it warmed, becoming a little fruitier (fuji apple - which I believe they are referrnig to as fiji apple in the TNs below), but not really making it more or less pleasant. TASTE: Very nice acidity. The sweetness was really subdued, but with it went a lot of the fruit. The finish was short and clean. OVERALL: Enjoyable, but not very memorable. (3+12+16+7)

This was my first Riesling, and I have to say I don't get it. Lightly carbonated lightly alcoholic white grape juice. Its simple, its not bad to drink, but it in no way interests me. No complexity, too sweet, and just plain boring.
I guess the upside to this is that there is one less varietal to go blowing all my money on...

What's not to like about this? Very good Kabinett style. Steely and stony with very good stone fruit character and a nice bit of sweetness to balance the generous acidity. I liked it a lot. There was good length and finishing complexity. My only complaint was that on the second day, things had become a bit heavy and sweet.

A definite favorite among non wine drinkers. Ideal for a summer bbq here in Southern California. Refreshing and fun to drink, but not as complex as other 2007 German wines that are just slightly more expensive (i.e., Schafer Frohlich Nahe Kabinett). Still fun to drink, great acidity and somewhat reminiscent of white flowers.

Pale yellowish green in color, with attractive aromas of flowery terpene, muscat, and a light petrol note. Tastes of sweet honeysuckle and white melon surround a laser beam of crisp green apple, which provides enough acidity to balance the sweet fruit.

This is a lovely expression of riesling. The color is almost completely pale, when looking through this wine at a white sheet of paper the it's hard to notice a color change at all. The viscosity is noticeable when this wine is swirled. It has a seductive nose of sweet fiji apples and a bit of lemon. In the mouth there is ample sweetness with a lemon, apple, and apricot palate. The acidity balances this out well, although the viscosity is a little detectable. At $16 this is a heck of a good wine, although it's a little sweeter/more ripe than one necessarily expects from a Kabinett.

Swordfern Wine Tasting #9: Riesling (Paul & Kelli's: Seattle, WA): Tasted blind as part of a Riesling tasting. Wow - huge, floral nose on this wine; smells like an orange blossom overflowing with nectar. On the palate, the most notable element for me was the acid, which was absolutely perfect. It gave a brightness to the grapefruit and floral flavors that I loved. This also had a long, intriguing finish of green melon.
