I thought this was totally killer tonight. Still very crisp and fresh, but with beautiful aromatics and notes of maturity that gave this a really nice complexity on the palate. Drank at Eleven Madison Park.

Beautifully textured, with medium plus depth, and a distinctively chaulky element to the finish. Medium plus acidity. Very contemplative, nothing striking you as WOW from the get go, but getting better with each sip. After some 60 minutes, the hazelnut finish really stood out.

Popped and poured. Rich nose, sweet lemon, ginger spice and a hint of butterscotch. Not advanced but definitely on the back 9. Complex palate, opened up with 2 hours of air showing spicy lemon and grapefruit flavors. Medium depth/weight with a lot of acid on the long somewhat austere finish.

Brought to a restaurant, PnP, same bottle as Rocknroller. Nose was tight, very tight for the first 20 minutes. When it did open it showed lemon, fennel, and slate. The palate was more forgiving up front and stayed pretty consistent over the hour I had it in front of me with lemon, grapefruit, white peaches and wet rocks. Not a hint of oxidation. If you have some in your cellar this should have plenty of life ahead of it.

A Quite Remarkable Night (Spoon & Stable, Mpls, MN): Light medium gold color. Drank 1 glass over an hour plus. Somewhat tight on the nose for the first 20 minutes, this gradually opens and reveals a very promising and surprisingly young wine. The noses shows some lemon, fennel seed, an mineral; all of which becomes more evolved over time. The palate is more open at the start, but becomes more interesting after 20-30 minutes. There is a roundness and more depth that comes, with golden fruits, wet stone minerality, and very nice length. This has got a good future and I suspect it will improve a bit more. 92+pts.

Light, bright yellow. Restrained nose of peach, lemon oil, and crushed rock. Subtle minerality in the mouth. This isn't an austere wine but it lacks intensity. Not Roulot's best showing this vintage. Drink now.

Out of more than a dozen of Roulot I had, this one is the most unappealing. Weak and fading bouquet. Flat, simple and short palate. It's not prem-ox or TCA. Just don't know what's wrong with it.

Lemon, sulphur and minerals on the nose. Its very restrained at this current stage. The palate was had some ripe yellow fruit with very high acidity. Its still a baby. Give it another 5 years.

Vintage character is dominated with a lean palate with high but vibrant acidity. An exceptional village white for ppl don't like heavy styles from Napa.

10th Burgundy tasting prt 1 (@ Rotterdam, Netherlands): Our host thought it was time for a curve ball of his own and poured us a wine with a medium-minus intense straw-coloured core and a clearing rim. Initially, a slight sulphuric edge throws some excrement in our faces, but it abates with a minute or two to reveal some lightly intense hints of pit fruits. Body-wise, the wine hovers at the cusp of medium & medium-plus and is positively charged with mineral content, which frames no more than medium-minus intense flavours of licorice, physalis, orchard fruits and melon. Its pungent acidity seems buffered by the impressive extract this wine sports and in shrill contrast to the Dugat-Py, this wine is actually pleasant to drink and possesses instead a lean quality I quite appreciate. The finish isn’t very impressive yet at about 20 seconds of balance, but the mineral content persists for another minute and after some time in the glass the nose picks up in intensity somewhat, while adding notes of spices and tarragon. There had been talk of a wine from Roulot beforehand and so it wasn’t too hard to venture a guess, but I nailed this as Meursault “Vireuils” 2007 – Domaine Roulot. For me, this is a 87 point wine right now and when/if the impressive material releases its full potential –it seems in need for at least three more years– I suspect as much as four points upside...................TN Mike de Lange.

Lemon curd, marzipan, ad well integrated wood. This has good cut and while not terribly chiseled, it does have nice cut and freshness. There is a roundness and midpalate filling presence that is carried without any weight. Almost a creaminess to the plenty acidic backbone. Dense yet not heavy and flat out lovely. Mouthwatering acidity, almost a saltiness, without sacrificing depth or pleasure. A giving wine. I really like this, and while it lacks precision, it is a very enjoyable bottle of wine that is incredibly drinkable. lovely 89pts

Our last bottle. Don't know where the wine will go from here, but it was fully vigorous at about 12 years old. Nice color. Subtle. Mineral intensive.

Manresa (Los Gatos, Ca.): Wonderful Roulot...creamy with lemon/lime blossom florals, crushed limestone, slight match strike, orange peel, precise and focused fresh acidity...loved this!

The Godfather Turns Sixty: Go Big or Go Home - Rousseau, Margaux, Lynch, a Trio '02 Champagnes and More! (La Belle Vie, Mpls): Light gold color. PNP, drank 70ml pour over 45 minutes. This is so nicely toasted on the nose and palate, smoke, full bodied, round, lovely, lemon, lighter than the '09 LeFlaive and maybe less depth in the mid palate, lots of acidity, lemon, citrus, sour apple, good length, quite good overall.
