This was one of those “oh, this can’t still be good” pleasant surprises. After 15 years in the bottle, not a hint of brick in the color. Not much on the nose at this age, but surprisingly still a bit of structure, a slight hint of tannin, still moderate acidity. The fruits were very tame, but still present; mostly plum. We were happy to not have to toss it, and found it pleasant.

Thin (almost a rose), acidic wine with a slight pleasant Pinot nose that faded away quickly. Low expectations from a winery that now makes mostly thin and bland wines, but back in the 90s produced some medium bodied elegant wines (such as from Ridgecrest).

Nose of pepper and spice, light red color. Light to medium body. Clean and supple, earthy with not too much fruit. Slightly light to pair with steak, which we did, but certainly a nice expression of Oregon Pinot.

This wine was something of a surprise in that it is light, a 2007 and being drunk at 4 years of age - none of which necessarily bode well for a PN. But the lightness was wasn't a problem in terms of any sense of watery taste, the wine had some good strucure to it underneath levels of strawberry and cherry flavors. Overall, a really well-balanced wine that didn't need much time to open up - an issue that I often have with PN between 3 and 5 years old. This wine probably won't be one that improves much more with age but that's fine because it is a really quality wine for a very uneven vintage and one that I would look forward to serving again, if I had any more bottles of it.

Nice lil pinot and good pairing w/chicken dredged in dijon mustard, baked w/soy, butter, mushrooms & scallions. On the nose there were aromas of green strawberries, peet moss, dirt, pepper, slight anise & stems. On the palate the entry was sweet red fruit, a lil hollow on the mid and a bit if a steely finish. Not the best vintage of this wine but still enjoyable. A good deal at the close out price if $15.

Color is light crimson, nose is expectable earthy/spice, and pencil lead. Entry is smooth with sufficient acid, mouth feel, silk, light fruit (mostly sour cherry). Tart finish maybe attributable to alcohol, as fruit drops out rather quickly? Good quality for the expected price point even though I paid a little more.

Got this bottle at the Willamette Valley winery's tasting room for $28.80 and drank with grilled salmon. The nose is almost entirely earthy, oaky, and smoky. Flavor-wise, the typical Pinot fruity characters stand-up (especially sour cherries, blueberries, and strawberries), accompanied with a shovel-full of earth, pepper, oak, smoke, and suggestions of spices (rosemary and sage). The finish is smooth and lingering, but this wine's biggest problem is that it doesn't possess the fantastic depth and complexity that really good West Coast Pinots typically show. The wine has an "ok" nose, decent acidity and structure, a typical Pinot flavor profile, with a decent finish. But like the best Pinots from Oregon and California, the depth and complexity that often reaches MILES deep is missing here. Considering the wine costs less than $30, I'm not exactly upset or angry. But I've had $10-ish bottles from California and Oregon that just about taste as good as this one does. If you're at Adelsheim, check-out their Pinot Rose. It's FANTASTIC. Admittedly, this is the winery's base, entry-level Pinot, and it's not bad. Just wish it was more complex, sophisticated, and mysterious like the best Pinots from the West can be.

PnP'ed. This is one of the best QPR pinots I've ever tasted. Nearly transluscent in the glass. Wonderful nose of red fruit with a little spice. Big cherry and a little minerality. Great balance in this wine. Picked it up for $23 and wish I bought a case.

Wine flight at Lutsen Resort (Lutsen Resort): I didn't find this medium bodied pinot from Oregon to be particularly remarkable. It was a fairly good wine but lacked some in balance. The nose was a bit soft, floral with red fruits. The palate was a bit too acidic and added a spice component not present on the nose. We both agreed that this didn't show well against the rest of the lineup.

In a rainy vintage the mid palate gets retarded longer than normal is the thought on this vintage. Very spice box with that brown sugar / cinnamon Pinot Noir fruit character coming through. Soft and pretty palate, very easy to drink. The mid palate does fall a bit on the light side, with less fruit character. I wonder if it will evevntually fall into itself as time goes on.

Lovely nose of smoke, cherries, berries and green weeds; a touch of acidity, very pretty mostly red fruit (strawberries, sour cherries) on the attack, with the intensity building beautifully through the midpalate and into the finish; lovely tannins, backloaded a bit, and a long finish ending in sour cherries. Delicious. (0 views)

Expressive nose of cherry, meat, and herbs. Slightly thin palate, surprisingly round with solid cherry character. Medium slightly clipped finish of fruit and mineral. Solid food wine, drinking well now. Doesn't seem to be a wine to age. Simple.

Those nose has very nice soft red fruit tending toward raspberry and a nice but light dose of Oregon funk. Quite pleasing to smell. The palate shows dirty, mossy tart red fruit and cranberry. Great acidity throughout the entire palate, very balanced throughout. The fruit on the palate does drop off quickly after the wine is swallowed leaving that pleasing acidity. Overall a nice wine, it's drinking nicely now and would really compliment a meal.

This was the last wine on Easter, following mainly good white burgundy and other Chards. This wine was served before and with a strawberry dessert. Good match.
This wine appears to have received some unfair and rather conflicting commentary here by my judgment. Most commentators have noted it to be thin or dilute, so the one poster who notes overbearing fruit is probably an anomaly. I found this wine to be a nice pinot on the delicate side with an abundance of berry fruit and good acidity. It is not a blockbuster, and given the vintage I wouldn't expect it. The price was reasonable and if you can find under $20 (as you may well when the '07 vintage is closed out) then it represents a pretty good value. Again, nice red-berried pinot on a delicate frame drinking well right now.

Rather low alcohol at only 12.8%. Light bodied as well, but not necessarily light in flavor. On the nose, in addition to red raspberries, was wet wood. Like the wet wood you'd smell waiting in the queue to ride the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride at Disneyland after it's been raining. Quite fascinating, but perhaps the oak needs some time to integrate. After that, sour cherry on the palate. This is definitely not a big, amped up Pinot Noir. This is an elegant, thoughtful wine.

Ordered off the menu at Sibling Rivalry (Boston). Nose and flavors of raspberry and cherry, some herbs and spices as well as a bit of tart fruit (maybe citrus). VERY Burgundian style. Light ruby in color. Very high clarity. Light, musty earth, and white cherry on the nose. Elegant, and mouthfilling for how light in color it is. Velvety cherry and vanilla play simply on the palate.

Nothing noir about this pinot, its a damn rose. Ripe strawberries and raspberries on the nose, which was quite nice. Body was way too light. Not much fruit or spice on the palate, just an unpleasant tartness and some funk. Terrible QPR at $32.

From one of my QPR leaders year in and year out this one is pedestrian. A weird, Sauv Blanc. style minerality that screams wet rock on the nose.. Blind I would not nail this as a Pinot Noir. More mineral on the palate and the wet rock flavors overwhelm the cherry flavors. Finish is weird at best and has a medium length. Dissapointed.

"elegant producer. higher acid. longer lived wines championed over fruit and power."

VERY Burgundian style. Light ruby in color. Very high clarity. Light, musty earth, and white cherry on the nose. Elegant, and mouthfilling for how light in color it is. Velvety cherry and vanilla play simply on the palate.

Philadelphia Wine Festival (Marriott, Philadelphia PA): I enjoyed this -- cherry coke and blackberry notes.

Sure this wine is young and tastes straight out of the barrel but it's easy to drink and pleasant. Very fruity but def thin and not complex. It is not the best vintage of this wine, but I'm not offended by it.

am i drinking the same wine that has been previously noted by users? yes, light color to this pinot, but just light pinot. i see no offense. zesty strawberry and gingerbread on the nose. so easy drinking. obviously the oak needs some time to integrate itself. nice acidity. what's not to like about this oregon pinot? please. have another drink.
BTW, karl is consuming seitan alfredo over linguine. the wine makes the herbs (oregano and thyme) so expressive of their oil.

Nothing noir about this pinot, its a damn rose. Ripe strawberries and raspberries on the nose, which was quite nice. Body was way too light. Not much fruit or spice on the palate, just an unpleasant tartness and some funk. Terrible QPR at $32.

AVERAGE
From one of my QPR leaders year in and year out this one is pedestrian. A weird, Sauv Blanc. style minerality that screams wet rock on the nose.. Blind I would not nail this as a Pinot Noir. More mineral on the palate and the wet rock flavors overwhelm the cherry flavors. Finish is weird at best and has a medium length. Dissapointed.

A fine example of a Willammette Pinot. A bit bright and acidy and a bit too much barnyard for my taste, but great light fruit and floral note with a short to medium finish.
