Some minimal copper toning. Nice very gentle bouquet, against a light background of anise/thyme. Nice length, ripe berries, and ever so light tannins. Not as strong bodied as expected.

Parents 60th Anniversay Shindig (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Medium brick red color with a 5mm clear margin. PNP; drank 2 glasses over 90 minutes plus. This started out pretty musty from its slumber, showing some questionable dank notes that raised the eyebrows initially. After about 10 to 15 minutes of swirling and glass time, this started to come around. Even at that, it was much better after 30 minutes of air and it held up if not got better after that. This was a much better bottle than we experienced previously. That bottle just didn't really evolve much over an hour. Dried red berries, shaved truffle, forest floor, alnd a perfume emerges over time. The Deeply earthy, red fruits, light medium bodied, moderate round tannins remain. This is one of those old wines that I have such an appreciation for. Not a blockbuster, but so pleasurable in many ways. Very good with a variety of cheeses as well as standing on its own. Give this some love and air and I think you might be very pleased. 91(+?)pts, and I think I enjoyed it even more than that.

Mostly Older WTDS at Tillia (Tilia, Mpls): Dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour. Same bottle as 10centpower. I agree, a little tired, but it did get a bit better with some air. Nothing to complain about here. Good aged Bordeaux, earthen, musty, leather and more muted dark kirsch on the nose. The palate is ab out what you'd expect, a little rustic, kirsch, dark berriies, oak, earth. Just doesn;t have the fruit to fully carry it anymore. 88+ to 89pts over 30+ minutes.

C: Blackish red with an orange tone N: Initially some funkiness but fortunately not damaged! Black berries with classical development of leather and cigar box. This is no power house, instead it is all very balanced and tight. P: Slender and well built. Medium bodied with soft tannins and perky (!) acidity. Black berries with a nice development and long finnish.

A fine bottle of wine. Mature, indeed, but still has a lot of strucure and (good) tannins. Smell of cigar box, vanilla and all you expect from a mature Bordeaux. Lacks a bit of the complexity and finesse of ex Ch Margaux, though. But very nice for the price.

Classic old Bordeaux nose: cedar, blackberry, light smokiness. Still have an outstanding weight on the palate with a lot of dark fruits mix with some cedar and tobacco. Silky on the palate.Very good balance. Very nice. Drink now.

Luis doesn't show up for his own tasting (Tilia): The palate is woody and soft. This is rustic. This has good complexity for the maturity, and seems almost too mature at this point.
