Still seemed young, this had some white-peppers, spice on the nose, but palate appeared to be brooding, with structured power/depth. This should continue to evolve nicely with cellar age.

Fully developed, the wine opens with tobacco leaf, cigar box, smoke, blackberry, and cherry tones on the nose. Full-bodied, gracious, refined, filled classy red fruits. This is really drinking great today. Drink from 2022-2032.

Rhône Tasting-cum-Lunch (Restaurant Rijsel, Amsterdam, NL): Released by the Domaine in 2021. Lovely nose, luxurious, deep and warm, spices and red meat, concentration and warmth buffered by refreshing acidity and papery tannins, touch of wood, retains its fruit, has developed beautifully.

Like a great burgundy but with a bit more weight. Enjoyable potpourri of flavours across the raspberry stone saline spectrum. Great from first pour no decant needed.

Very mute on opening. Gradually opened up over two hours post decant to show traditionalist (but very clean) northern Rhone. Not lean but certainly none of the expected ‘07 exuberance. Cloves, thyme, bacon fat. Raspberry, blackberry in background. Great length and so much improved with time and air. A near classic northern rhone Syrah but not obviously Cote rotie?

Immediately grabs your attention, with no decant required. Energetic, powerful, velvety, with bacon fat, meats and minerals. Excellent, probably at peak if you’re seeking plush style, no rush.

Consistent with previous Three bottles. Particularly good on first pour on opening – decanting isn’t required, nor does it help. Beautiful ripe fruit on entry. Lovely salty slightly medicinal and quite velvety luxurious plush fruit. Moderate length but adequate. Limited upside if any, probably at peak but no rush.

Showing some age already, this is a light to medium bodied wine, very juicy and fresh, mineral, soft texture, bright acidity and no perceivable tannins, red cherry fruit, licorice, coffee, a hint of iron/blood, iodine, olives. An elegant wine, but neither very structured nor partucularly well-balanced. Based on this bottle, I would recommend to drink soon. - 90 points

Spices, olive, red fruit, dark berries and tobacco on the beautiful nose. Grippy, strong tannins, medium+ acidity and quite bitter orange flavors along with cherries and cedar on the palate. Nice finish, could use more time to fully integrate. Very good right now, though!

interestingly not nearly as good as my last bottle (in Jackson Hole on ski trip)... this was somewhat devoid of fruit... lots of structure (which I like) but just no charm... go figure (perhaps it was may palate, as the other two 'good' wines I opened also disappointed... on the other hand my Rhone-loving friend thought is missed the mark too?)

Stunning. Second bottle from this case. Decanted an hour and a half before drinking. When Rhône wine is this good why do we bother with anything else ? Any harshness that Syrah can occasionally present is missing. This La Landonne ranks with the best Hermitage wines.
Great structure with lovely forward red fruits, tobacco. This has the length of a great Burgundy — an Echezeaux? Sublime complexity. Can’t wait for the rest, I expect over three decades of life left in this wine. Honour is due to M Rostaing.

Superb, really hitting its straps. Perfumed layers of fruits hanging off perfectly structured tannins. Better and less obvious than Guigal’s equivalent? In this winemaker’s hands Syrah almost magical. Epic wine. As complex as Grand Cru Musigny or Bonnes Mares.

Appearance Bright and clear, it has medium ruby color, with fading rims and legs. Nose Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of black fruit such as blackcurrant and plum, red fruit of red cherries, animal notes of leather, maturity notes of savory, pungent spice of black pepper and licorice, floral notes of violet, herbal notes of green pepper, kernel notes of dark chocolate. The wine is developing.
