Served blind. The oak on this wine turned me off. Too much in the aroma and palate. Glossy in texture with anise, yellow apple, fennel and some caramel with vanilla bean. Reminds me of cinnamon apple sauce, honestly. I' just don't dig wines that take like this anymore. The 2016 Liquid Farm Bien Bien Chard poured next to it just beat it hands down too, for what it's worth.

Initially, Apple and rhubarb; over an hour in the glass, lemon zest and blood orange emerge. Sous boos dominates: fascinating, mushroom. High acid, some smoke.

Tasted non blind with dinner. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about 90 minutes.
Yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of talc, vanilla, honey and yellow pears. Flavors of vanilla, yellow pears and a hint of lemon on the finish. Medium acidity, full bodied. Drink now.

Medium golden straw color; clear. Vanilla, coconut, almond and a little bit of roasted banana aromas. Viscous in the mouth, the fruit is repressed by the winemaking and oak treatment. Sourced from the winery.

I can confidently echo the last taster's notes... Great viscosity, neither thick and cloying nor thin, watery, and tasteless. Sour apple-skin and brandy nose, citrus, toast, wet stone, and almonds... more citrus on the palate, that was the dominate flavor here - orange peel, tangerine, and lemon curd. Delightful, well-integrated, and a great RRV Chard. Some soft tropical flavors, lean and acidic in the front, softens and widens as you taste it and by the time you swallow, this is rich and butterscotch scented. Very nice.

Slow-O one hour. Brilliant, reflective straw color. Opens with river bed, spiced apples, honeysuckle, and a hint of orange peel. Very lively palate, with zippy acids supporting the generous, bright orchard fruits. Lovely weight, energizing freshness. At peak right now, with 4-5 more years ahead, but so pretty now it's hard to imagine leaving these alone for very long. The wood and alcohol are very well integrated at this stage. 14,2% abv, approx $60.

Popped and poured. Bright greenish gold.Lemon, creme brulee on the nose Quite unctuous on the palate with a zing of acidity which prevents it from veering towards cloying. Big wine though. Good example of a ripe RRV Chardonnay.

Nose of cream, vanilla, a hint of bubble gum at one point and some tropical notes of lilikoi. Flavor of cream, vanilla, yellow pears and tart yellow apples. Medium acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold over the next 2-4 years or so. 91.

Medium-bright yellow color. Aromas of butterscotch, hazelnuts, lemon, and toasted marshmallow. On the palate, this shows a flavor profile that reminds me of Kistler Kistler Vineyard with a little less brightness. Primary flavors are of marshmallow, hazelnut oil, and lemon curd. Finish is moderate. Drink before 2014.

Medium yellow color, fruity nose, rounded slightly sweet palate of tropical furit and citrus. Nice balance with bit of heat from the alcohol on the finish. Very easy drinking wine.

Aromatically - apple, and slight aldehydes. On the palate a very soft and supple wine with a little rs and diacetyl finish but nice wine. It is a style that I like when drinking a california chardonnay and that is soft and full of flavor. To me California does not imitate burgundy well and should stick to its style. Soft and Supple this wine does this well. nice.

Late Summer Afternoon Outside with Friends (Lake Forest IL): Spicy aromas with very ripe apple plus some tropical fruit. Palate slightly less interesting, somewhat short and starting to mature quite early. Drink up in next year or two.

RICH FRUIT IN THE NOSE AND FLAVOR, APPLES, MELONS, AND A TOUCH OF VANILLA AND CARAMEL. NICE COMPLEXITY AND A MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.
