A punchy nose of sandalwood, pomegranate, raspberry and aniseed. It has a beautiful, luscious, sweet core and super silky texture. It builds through the palate and fans out on the very long finish, leaving a flora infused calling card.

Very pretty on the palate, soft, velvety red fruit with Vosne-Romanee seriousness and 1er weight. For whatever reasons stems not obvious aromatically. (1225/6900)

While this does show some oak influence on top of brooding, dark fruit, this also shows some good layering with soy sauce, beef broth, various Vosne spices and mineral today. Ample flavors with some serious structure but this paired beautifully with the duck breast tonight. Backward but does open up over the course of the evening. Needs at least another 8-10 years to come together.

Tasted from a leftover bottle on second day of opening. Gorgeous nose! Classic vosne spice, high-toned, bright red fruit with some tannins that need a few more years to smooth out. Given this is still so fresh on the second day, it needs much more bottle ageing but what potential!

Took several hours to open up. Enticing high-toned nose of dark cherry, smoke, spice and minerals. Great structure and fun to try now but will wait another couple of years for the next bottle.

Very tight upon opening. After 2 hours in the decanter, it opened up the leroys flower, red fruit, and spice. Palate had so much stuffing and its very deep. Tannis are noticeable and chewy. Please give this at least 5 more years before you even consider opening it. 94+

Candied and big, somewhat underwhelming for this wine but clearly 10+ years too young.

Friday after Thanksgiving (FAT) - Part 1 - Burgundy 2006 (Palm Beach Gardens FL): Small taste, brief note. Much like the RSV tasted earlier, but everything on a slightly smaller scale. Very charming and enticing, even if still a little firm right now. Best to cellar at least a few more years.

2006-2007 Vosne Romanee tasting inc. Grivot, Liger-Belair, Leroy, Eugenie, Dugat-Py, Rouget (Tel Aviv): Black cherries, tar, cloves, cinnamon and hints of black pepper on the nose. Painfully young and closed on the palate, dusty tannins on the long finish. Difficult to assess now, perhaps my score of 93 would be higher in time.
