What a lovely wine. Black cherry, coffee, campfire, with a citrus zest note on finish. Fresh, elegant, complex. Long earthy/stony finish. A- ($26 at release)

5/6, good cork. Medium garnet core, pale garnet rim. Nose shows pretty red fruit, touch of soil, spice and a lightly sweet creamy edge. Odd whiff of smoke. Medium bodied, attractive lightly creamy old vine red fruit - raspberry, strawberry - vibrant acidity, very good length finish. Grippy yet fine tannins. Lovely, drinking well, no hurry.

Medium ruby/garnet core, pale garnet rim with a touch of mahogany. On the nose this shows red cherry fruit, notes of soil and game, slight whiff of celery. Medium bodied on the palate, sappy, slightly creamy old vine red fruit, cherry and a touch of strawberry, slightly firm tannins but they are fine and well covered by the fruit, good length, grippy, gamey finish. Very moreish, lovely. Next bottle 2-3 years.

The elegant side of Savigny! A 2007 that is in a beautiful spot right now. Very expressive nose that has a lot of sweet fruit, but the palate is on lighter side of medium with energetic acidity, showing vibrant if lean black currant fruit. Very sappy and more-ish wine, which does have a sneaky structure and should get better with time, although why hold it when it drinks so well today?

No formal note. Fragrant nose showing red cherry, some strawberry and Savigny earth. Medium bodied, red cherries and plums, light and airy but by no means austere, refined tannins and lovely fresh acidity carrying a good length finish with a touch of earth. Lovely.

Had a small glass pop and pour, no formal note but thought it was a bit rustic, showing a lot of acid and tannin. Gassed and refrigerated overnight. Better on Day 2. Black fruited nose with a bit of damp earth. Light to medium bodied with medium acidity. Black cherry fruit, some iron and fine-grained tannins. Just a bit on the rustic side of Burgundy but it softens nicely with air.

Paole/medium ruby. Fragrant, youthful nose, red cherry fruit, some strawberry and plum, notes of soil and ginger spice. Medium bodied on the palate, fresh and light but with admirable depth with red cherries, sweet plum and some spice. The tannins are very refined and this has lovely fresh acidity and clarity of fruit and fans out quite nicely on a very good length finish showing some Savigny earth notes. Overall excellent for what it is, and really quite sophisticated.

Very nice, and drinking well. Good acidity, and some polish to the tannin. This needs a little air to open up fully, and never really shut down over several hours.

Similar notes to my last bottle. Light bodied, great acidity, tart raspberry and cranberry, just a touch of earth and tannin. Fruit reveals itself more with time in the glass. Pretty wine.

Nice light-bodied Savigny; very clean, transparent wine but a bit simple at this stage. Enjoyable, but certainly not memorable, I suspect this will become more complex with bottle age.

excellent day 1 over two hours when popped and poured...really grips the palate with masculine leaning Savigny character and transparency without any rusticity...half of bottle remaining recorked into half bottle...bit tired on day 2 which surprised me, but still solid...overall an incredible value at $26 paid

No formal notes taken, but this was quite nice. Light-bodied, a mix of ripe and tart red fruit with some earthiness and light tannins. Will improve over the short-term but drinking well now for my palate.

Almost 90. This is the same bottle from several days ago. Left in completely open one day, then sealed and vacuumed it. Was about to dump it, but voila-no oxidation and the fruit has finally emerged. Still not as complex as the '06, but delicious fruit now.

Well-balanced Savigny, with high-toned fruit, mineral and earth. Very in balance and pretty mellow. Nothing fancy, but well-made nonetheless.

Developing nicely, just needs another couple of years to come into a fine drinking window. Doesn't feel like it will be an unusually long-lived wine.

A tale of two walks: Ladoix and Savigny (Côte de Beaune, France): A lighter wine than the other vineyards. Perfume, cherries, lilies, on the nose and palate.

Vineyard Gate: 2007 Savigny-les-Beaune from Camus-Bruchon; 2/19/2010-2/20/2010 (Millbrae, CA): Though the nose is fairly closed there's clearly much going on here. A complicated complex palate with fresh acidity and grip. Needs time to unwind, but should be very good.
