A tad lifted ripe fruit nose with prunes, raisins and crushed dark berries. Some bitter almond, peach stone and toasted wood notes. Fullbodied but not that fruity. Refreshing enoughacidity and tight tannins - really kickin' in from mid-palate on. Slight medicinal character, liquorice and graphite. A bit awkward finish. Not that balanced. Skip.

I love Brigaldara wines, especially the Case Vecie. But this one was off balance in my view. The cherries, tobacco and leather were all too over-powering. And at at 16.5 percent, this was more an aperitif than a wine.....whether for meditating or not. (But then again I had a cold when I drank this, and the Wife says it's lovely and I need to cheer up!)

Decanted for a few hours before drinking. Got a sort of intense mounds bar nose of coconut and chocolate, followed by a very rich mouthfeel. I didn't notice the complexity or acidity that was mentioned in other TNs, and I missed both. The wine was delicious in its way, but I got bored with it quickly. The next day, the acidity was more prevalent, and that helped balance the richness more - but, still didn't have the tannins or acidity I think it needed to support everything else that was there.

Intriguing wine. Keeps changing every 10 minutes in the glass for days on end. Started off as a dry red wine with dark saline and savory flavors and morphed into a more typical Amarone that showed sweet cherry flavors and hints of game meat. Dried flowers, spices, earth and fig paste. Intensely floral on the nose and tons of complexity. Medium body but very intense finish. The proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove. I really loved this.

Decanted 1 hr, at first did not gave the impression of an Amarone at all, more like classic Bordeaux, but has enough structure and aromatics to keep you diggiong deeper, eventually, the Amarone side opened up. A really interesting bottle, must try another one.

A bit perfumey on the nose, with more lively acidity on the palate than a lot of the amarones in this tasting. A touch of floral/ soapiness as well. Really quite like this. 90+

Smooth and velvety - but not quite as good as the 2005. Still, perfect for meditation...

Amarone tasting (Sherry-Lehmann): Modern style (1 yr of french oak) warm, soft ripe sweet fruit but also very fine long finish. I like this very much.

Light on the nose with hints of blackberry and a little red currant. Medium feel in the mouth with light skin/stem tannins. Decent length of finish.
