Aromas of strawberry cream savers hard candies, freeze dried raspberries, candied orange, butterscotch, and whipped cream.
The palate is rich and creamy. Much of the effervescent has calmed down leaving a super lovely mouthfeel. Acid is medium - medium plus. Finish is long. Super solid wine but not exceptionally complex. Very tasty though and well balanced.

Deep salmon. Dried and stewed fruits and yeast notes with noticeable oxidation on the nose.
Muted dried fruits and brioche struggle to solidify. Little in the way of structure or complexity, medium acidity and a medium finish. Bubbles are fine and the best part of the bottle. Is this just over the hill? My experience with the 2008 is vastly better.

With more time and aeration a bit of vanilla and strawberries, quite creamy, beautiful orange red color. Pretty sweet originally but with this bottle age its kind of not bad.
Absolutely underwhelming acidity for a 2004 though and totally fails to balance the sweetness here.
On the second day, a bit cherries and tannins coming through with a little bit mild bitterness on the finish.
It drinks easy and fun but is also boring and quickly forgotten.
The price performance ratio is pretty bad in my opinion. If you give it to me for free, I will drink it but I would not spend money on it again.

This house has a bit of a "duty free" reputation to it (available everywhere) but this particular wine holds its own among comparably priced rose champagne and I really enjoyed it. Still displays a very frothy mousse, generally a good sign. Color is medium to a slightly dark tint, taking into account the wines 16 years of bottle age. Very nice nose, typical notes of strawberry, slight toasted almond, pomegranate. Acidity is also in a really good spot right now, providing just the right amount of backbone to the fruit. Finish has some earthier, game elements giving it a nice flourish of savory complexity at the end. Very well done, was also a crowdpleaser at our table.

I was surprised to see this today, as I have no memory of knowing VCP did a non-prestige vintage rosé. Their NV version is very good, so it was worth trying at this price. Cork hard and straight. Quite a deep orange colour. Lovely nose: stately and mature, deep pinot character with a touch of red fruit, pastry, mushroom, but also a distinct struck match note. Bright, almost dazzling, acidity on the palate initially, but also adequate sweetness. The midpalate is dominated by a lovely pure strawberry note, very intense and in my experience surprisingly unusual in pink champagne - but it is not confected in any way. This is lovely, although perhaps not much better than the NV. At the 'red' end of the flavour spectrum.
I also tried decanting this, as it's something I want to experiment with (and some people recommend it) - but the jury is out (obviously I should try this with a younger, sharper wine - I'm looking at you, Lanson Black Label). After half an hour, the nose was all but gone, although the sulphurous note remained. The mousse was softer of course, and the taste sweeter but then rather salty. Finally, quite spicy.
Deep pink, tiny bubbles, lively and very effervescent. Yeasty nose with notes of sea air, herbs and sweet red fruits too. Lemon citrus leads on the palate, adding peach notes, carmelized red berry and fresh cut herbs running through the finish. Nice weight, drinks light and fresh with a solid acid backbone. Tasty.

Quite dark rose color. Interesting nose... quite vinous and evolved... i like it. Smells a bit sweet... candied. Also tastes well rounded and sweetish. Also... salty. Deffinately an easy drinker and probably not a long term cellar candidate... the meunier...might get weird.

Good bottle but not a memorable champagne. A beautiful grapefruit pink in color with a nice central distribution of bubbles though not overly carbonated. Nose is flat and quite frankly boring. There is none of the yeasty bread nose that I love so much in vintage champagne. That being said, I do realize this bottle is only 12 years old. However, earlier this week I opened a 2000 Krug and it was the most wonderfully powerful fresh baked bread on the nose. I digress, back to this Vueve. On the pallet the birx feel high; tasting more of a demi than a brut. Hoesntly it's quite delightful on the pallet with balanced carbonated and no bite of alcohol. I wouldn't happily drink this again though if I'm in the store I'll probably spend my money on something else.

Disgorged 5/2013, tasted alongside 2010 Bereche Campania Remensis Rosé Extra Brut. A bit understated, slightly tangy nose of red fruits (strawberry, cherry) and herbs. On the palate medium-bodied with fresh acidity that might lead one to believe that there is a lot more Chardonnay than the 15 % stated. Harmonious and civilized with nice crispness and slight bitterness. It has a good acidity and a dosage that feels a bit too high. Overall a decent rosé fizz that would be fine on its own but just does not hold a candle to the way more lively and charismatic Campania Remensis. While a very drinkable wine and probably good with food I do not wonder why this was discounted to 46 €.

Veuve Clicquot Dinner (Boss Shepherd's - Washington DC): A hint darker than the non-vintage rosé. Aromas of strawberries, white cherries, rose hips and nettles, and I also get some slate and crushed shells. Lots of verve on the palate, very crisp and mineral-driven, a leaner approach but it’s still loaded with white cherries and wild strawberries. Notes of oyster shell, limestone, sea salt and grilled bread add all sorts of complexity. Lots going on here, but maintains elegance. Delicious with some cured Lobster and caviar.

Very much in the house style. Needs time before its true potential is revealed; currently very tight and so yeasty you'd think you ate a loaf of bread. Have a bottle, and then set the rest aside for a good 4-5 years. 91+

Christmas Champagne Bash with friends (At home): This champagne had an excellent showing as well and was clearly head and shoulders above the Billecart Salmon Brut Rose (the only other rose consumed at the event). This showed beautiful bright red fruit, with creamy raspberries, cherries, strawberries, yeast, wild flowers, and perfectly balanced chalky minerality.

I really feel that the best champagnes coming out of Veuve Clicquot are the roses. This 2004 vintage rose is showing very well today and indicates potential for further aging. This has a real depth and richness to it - almost like a young premier cru red burgundy rather than a traditional rose champagne. However, the red fruit is also very elegant on the palate and is balanced very well by the chalky minerality. I got flavors of cherries, raspberries, strawberries, allspice, cinnamon, white pepper, crushed rocks, bread, yeast, grass, and a touch of honey. This is not a light rose, but that should not deter anyone from trying it, as the 2004 Veuve vintage rose is a very good bottle of champagne. However, this does seem like it might shut down for several years when the primary ripe fruit flavors eventually start to fade. Drink today or hold for at least five years.
Served chilled. Med Pink, proper tiney bubble stream. Med body, super good balance, classic Rose w/Pinot notes. Clean, drinking nicely. Nothing off. $73
Look, I don't care that it's a giant, Champagne producing machine. Know why? Because the stuff is pretty good! Simple and bright, with strawberry, candied raspberry, Luden's sweet cherry notes and a touch of minerals. The bubbles are a bit aggressive but the fruit is pleasant enough that I'm willing to overlook that one. Crowd pleasing and a totally fine Champagne.

Pale Salmon in color with a hint of copper. The aromatics of this wine jump out of the glass immediately. Pomegranite, mineral, grass, and citrus on the nose of this beauty. In the mouth this wine is very clean and refreshing, with notes of ruby red grapefruit and a sweet floral finish with long depth and nice complexity. A great balance of elegance, depth, and flavor.

A nice rose, but really didn't do anything to warrant the price tag. Henriot Rose (vintage) blows it away. This actually would show some depth and character as it came closer to room temperature, but just didn't have everything I would look for.

This is one of the best, non- La Grande Dame Veuve Clicquot champagnes I've had. Great balance and structure with ripe raspberry and hints of broken stone. Layered but in tune with the acidity and body that's complimentary and not flabby but elegant. Very, very good bottle of bubbles.

we are not very savvy about champagne but we liked this, and we have tried in the last 2 weeks, the dom perignon 2000, the grande dame veuve 1998, the duval leroy 1996, the veuve 2002, henri billiot NV, veuve NV brut, delamotte ????, and Roederer NV. this rose was one of our favorites among these. the NV's were not quite ready to drink i.e. a little rough compared to the vintages. the 2004 rose was old enough to be mellow but still tasted very fresh and lively. the flavor was definitely good enough to drink alone and we did so, finally adding some goat cheeses and rice crackers. i would like to try this again, but of course it costs $100 a bottle. We are slowly learning that champagne from good houses tastes better vintage aged, and instead of less distinguished NV ones we might as well drink well made $10 gruet or st michele.

(tasted at the shop) Nice brick color, beautiful string of bubbles, nice full nose with hints of smoke over a yeasty background. Smoky notes in the mouth again, very good acidity, citrus aftertaste of medium length. A very good champagne with an excellent price and preferably for food. It will be great for the next 5 years, maybe more.

Like biting into a cookie with caramel. One of the most distinctive champagne I've tasted. Nicely done.

Délicieux! Magnifique couleur rosé, fraises des champs, beaucoup de finesse, belle longueur en bouche. Meilleur que le 2002 bu la veille. 93

Karolina's Birthday: Intensive salmon color. Quite a distinctive bread nose, rhubarb and gooseberry. The wine has a good structure and a nice depth. Quite powerful. Better than I expected. Already quite mature, so drink now over the next year or so.

Very much in the house style. Needs time before its true potential is revealed; currently very tight and so yeasty you'd think you ate a loaf of bread. Have a bottle, and then set the rest aside for a good 4-5 years. 91+

Veuve Cliquot is my favourite Champagne. Bubbles that last forever. The Rose has a lot more colour than a lot of Rosés. Yeasty aromas and flavour.

The housestyle of veuve clicquot is normally not what I prefer, but to rosé it proved to be a very good match. Perfect blend of toast and fruit. I'm also confident this champagne will continue to improve.

2013 K&L Annual Champagne Tasting (K&L San Francisco Store): K&L Tasting. Pink/gold color like a sunset sky in LA, tiny bubbles, fine mousse, nose of yeast, roasted meat, minerals, and spice, more of the same on the palate, big, brooding, tasty rose but not yet arrived, needs four years to peak, medium/big body, and long finish.

Really enjoyed this one. Bright rose color with vibrant raspberry and bing cherry background. Tight bubbles with laser precision, this wine has a lot of time ahead of it. More enjoyable than any veuve vintage wine I can recall.

we are not very savvy about champagne but we liked this, and we have tried in the last 2 weeks, the dom perignon 2000, the grande dame veuve 1998, the duval leroy 1996, the veuve 2002, henri billiot NV, veuve NV brut, delamotte ????, and Roederer NV. this rose was one of our favorites among these. the NV's were not quite ready to drink i.e. a little rough compared to the vintages. the 2004 rose was old enough to be mellow but still tasted very fresh and lively. the flavor was definitely good enough to drink alone and we did so, finally adding some goat cheeses and rice crackers. i would like to try this again, but of course it costs $100 a bottle.
