Had two of these in Eurocave for several years, and wasn’t sure what we’d find based on prior reviews. Cork was difficult to remove, but intact. Filtered for sediment and decanted. Deep red color, clean nose, and intact black cherry and other dark fruit notes. Definitely taste the added complexity due to age. Long finish with some chewiness. Hard to say how long this will stay drinkable, but seems to have some runway remaining. Pleasantly surprised!

My last bottle of this wine. It was too oaky and primary on release. By this time, however, it has come together nicely. Dark garnet with purple tint. Nose of leather, pepper, vanilla, and dark fruit. Ripe, spicy palate of blackberry, fig, hoisin, pepper, and espresso. Excellent length. Supple tannins. Excellent QPR Syrah.

Very dark color with purple edge. I tasted th wine a year go and I w very good. This time it is not as impressive. Nose is more currant with dark fruit. On paletes, it displayed dark fruit, mineral, bitterness, spice and tannins. It appears that breath will help greatly. I will give another day for tasting again under vacuum. Currently it is a 88 to 89.

I have enjoyed Montes Alpha's wines before. Their Merlot and their Cab are excellent options given the price - quality ratio. I hoped for the same with this Syrah 2007. Unfortunately, since the bottle was uncorked a strong alcoholic scent was perceived. The wine had an unpleasant taste at first, with the alcohol dominating any distinctive flavors of the Syrah varietal. After letting the wine breath in the glass, it became a bit easier to drink, but not significantly better. I wonder if the second bottle that I currently hold would show the same characteristics. I will find out pretty soon.

Montes’in Alpha serisi, süpermarketlerde kolaylıkla bulunan “Classic Series” etiketine gore bir üst kategoride yer alıyor.

Drank mostly with dinner so not a whole lot of notes. Definitely aromas of Black fruits, smoke, leather, orange zest; Decanted, but was really nice right out of the bottle at first pour. Not as light as previous notes indicate, but not too too heavy. Not a lot of heat either in my experience. I think this will go longer than 2014, for sure. At $20 per, I'll be getting a lot of these. Went great with dinner too.

Good/Very Good on my scale. Rich and dark in the glass. Dark red fruits, earth and hints of vanilla on the nose. Dry and delicious with mild, well-integrated tannins. This is an opulent wine that paired well with lamb shank osso bucco-style. <Wow/Very Good/Good/Fair/Plonk>

This might be described by some as an oak bomb. There is a GREAT DEAL of oak on the nose and palate. Some might dislike this, but not me. I love it. It is strong and flavourful and full. I much prefer this to wines that taste like half of nothing. I enjoyed this on its own, but also with a dish of spicy tomato barbecue sauce and meatballs.

I could see how someone would not like the oak in this wine but IMO it is decently integrated complementing the flavors of blackberry, plum, spice box, anise with some blueberry. A good go-to wine and one of my favorites from South America.

I've always been partial to this syrah and the '07 vintage did not disappoint. Blackberry, black cherry and a touch of black pepper. Medium body, and acidity and goes well with a variety of foods (I've enjoyed this vinatge at a few retaurants over the past few months). If you need a wine that will pair with many foods, this is it. It does not overpower salmon (although I prefer Pinot Noir) and it will also hold up to grilled red meat (although I prefer a zin, malbec, or cab). This bottle matched extremely well with a pepper crusted duck breast.

90% Syrah, 7% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 3% Viognier.

Kobe Burgers and New World Wines (Reno, NV): Very dark, glass staining color... purplish rim. On the nose plenty of spiced, dark and red fruits... definitely some tar... On the palate a very pleasant ascent with medium + acidity, a nice round and fleshy syrah midpalate, a very nice transition into a moderately firm yet ripe tannin finish... moderate + alcohol. Good balance between ripe, not overripe fruit and moderate acidity/tannins... good length, great intensity of flavor, ok complexity. Nice finesse, very fine texture and quite true to place. I have had this wine several times lately and have been quite impressed every occassion for the way it delivers its fruit with oak and syrah-ness in balance at a remarkably good price point (around 15 USD if you look carefully). Superb qpr and an excellent wine... I wouldn't age this much as I don't think many Chilean wines benefit with more than a couple of years of age.

The wine is ruby red, nearly purple. The nose is beautiful, with red fruits, spices, floral notes, wood and vanilla. The palate open un with red fruits flavor like cherry and raspberry. Spices are dominated by black pepper and there's also cloves. The wood is well integrated but still shows vanilla, but not too much of it. The finish is quite long and give a lot of pepper in it. Good QPR, but this wina as to be laid down 2-3 years to be fully appreciated.

Not at the same level as the '05 and '06, the 2007 has a Muscular style, with dark fruit, wet forest floor, loam, coffee, and some "funkiness" that run through a fleshy finish. Nice mineral hint in the background. Drink now through 2013.

Brighter, not as loaded with tarry smoke as the previous four vintages. There's still definite accent of earth and tar on the nose, but there's some raspberry to go along with the blackberry. A lighter profile in the mouth, too, if less powerful than it's been before. Finish has a slightly bitter finish (but pleasantly so, for my taste). Nice wine once again.

Montes’in Alpha serisi, süpermarketlerde kolaylıkla bulunan “Classic Series” etiketine gore bir üst kategoride yer alıyor.

Better bottle than earlier this year. Still the main focus of dark bramble fruits, but getting a bit more spiciness going. Cinnamon? Only consumed half the bottle, so curious as to how it will perform tonight after being open a while.

Drank mostly with dinner so not a whole lot of notes. Definitely aromas of Black fruits, smoke, leather, orange zest;
Decanted, but was really nice right out of the bottle at first pour. Not as light as previous notes indicate, but not too too heavy. Not a lot of heat either in my experience. I think this will go longer than 2014, for sure. At $20 per, I'll be getting a lot of these.
Went great with dinner too.
