Amber color with mash bill #1 . Nose is on the lighter side with hints of brown spices and maple syrup. Entry is smooth with light soft tannins and mouthfeel has a mouthwatering alcohol heat with light astringency that grips the tongue for a nice medium oaky staves finish. It’s a fine sipper to be had neat as any little dilution can disrupt the harmony.

We've all had it and enjoyed it, and for good reason There just aren't many bourbons (or any other whiskies) this good at this price. Big sweet nose of caramel, vanilla, and honey, with more of the same on the mid-palate, along with some orange peel. Very light alcohol warmth--impressive for 90 proof. This whiskey is always around, and always welcome on my bar.

One of my first forays in Bourbon and always one of my favourites. Vanilla, oak, spices and char blend in seamlessly into a very smooth and satisfying drink. Highly recommended.

Unmistakable sweet vanilla cherry on the nose. Hits all the right marks but fades too quickly on the finish. Very sweet. A great value under $35. Plenty of enjoyment to be had.

Meilleur Bourbon à vie. Belle texture grasse qui est le fun avec cette appelation, beaucoup d'arômes traditionnelles, mais plus classe et sougné comme bouteille. Gros gros coup de coeur.

Deep amber copper hue Hot nose. Oak hints Hot the lips. Instant warming affect. Pears, oak, and hints of vanilla and all spice Great bottle. Ig you like a tasty hot bourbon, this fits the bill. Not overwhelming at all. Lovely.

A perfectly decent whiskey, though one better suited for mixed drinks than consuming neat. Everything here is correct, but provided in insufficient quantity. Its body is too thin, and its aromas (spice) and its flavors (sour rye, caramel) are too restrained.

Nose: compared to the Weller 12 more towards the basic Buffalo Trace nose again, but on a higher level, strong brown sugar warmth. None of the fruit drops.
Palate: The cola note weaker and it’s slightly more spicy on the tongue, otherwise very similar to the Weller 12. But also the soapiness in the length is a bit stronger again.
Just like it took the Weller 12 6 weeks after opening the bottle to give rise to that raspberry note on the nose, the same thing happened with the Eagle Rare 10 7 weeks into it. Indeed, a month after that even a nice beefy note appeared.
Basically, this ER 10 is in the middle between the basic Buffalo Trace and the Weller 12, but far closer in quality and maturity to the latter than to the former, yet has other taste aspects in common with the former. That figures, too, since it appears as if they share the same type of mashbill containing a small amount of rye – which is probably what gives the Eagle Rare 10 that slightly spicier kick - while the Weller 12 is a wheater and from the same mashbill as the Pappy Van Winkle. Nevertheless, since that basically soapy Buffalo Trace signature which I assume is part of the distillery character, goes against my preferences, I will probably not buy more than the one bottle I have left of the Weller 12 in the cellar. But considering the run away price of the Weller 12, if you’re a Buffalo Trace fan, the Eagle Rare 10 should a really good substitute.

smoked raisins, oak, slight vanilla, green apple, and caramel, burnt cornbread PALETTE: sweet corn, oak, Tahitian Vanilla, plum, candies almonds. FINISH: slight bite to it, raisin, oak and a little burnt sugar. Can taste the rye mash spice. 7/10

Better than I remember the first time I had it. For 10 years old and Buffalo Trace its on the weak end, but for $35 was actually a pretty solid pour/good QPR

a very appealing style, good drive. Perhaps not quite the complexity of some traditional bourbons, but we really enjoyed this after dinner neat. Would definitely look out for this bourbon.

Utilized mostly for old fashioned cocktails but also made a delicious cocktail with it from fresh ginger, lemon juice, lemon rind and mint simpler syrup; great for the later.

Was wowed by this at first (most probably because I tried it in conjunction with different cigars), but upon revisiting it I find it just reliably good. The oak influence for one seems to be too dominant on the palate (albeit it makes the nose somewhat interesting), and the pepper-leaning finish is a little rough. But it's better than your average bourbon, and it will go well with some not-too-sophisticated cigars! 86-87

Solid bourbon. Needs a little water/ice to open it up. Banana, barrel char and a touch of maple. Dry and decent length.
