We had this with baked cod on 8/25/08. It had a very nice nose…aromas of pear, apricot & just a hint of pineapple. There were also some smoky, buttery, oak aromas. The palate followed with pear, apricot, a tiny hint of pineapple, pepper and oak. It has a creamy buttery feel in the mouth…very smooth with just a tiny touch of bitterness on the finish. The effervescence is VERY slight. All in all, It was very enjoyable and a HUGE QPR.

color: straw / light golden nose: pear, stone fruit, minerals, and a hint of pineapple. Also a touch herbaceous and has some hints of lees. A touch of spritz in this medium bodied wine. Nice minerality with herbal notes and a slight white pepper zing in the crisp and clean finish. Very versatile and a solid entry level GV.

Lighter in style and not too dry with a typical GV nose of sweet stone fruit and green celery leaves. Peach, nectarine and citrus flavors emerge on the palate. The acidity is firmly in check.

Weekend with friends; 7/21/2007-7/22/2007 (Home): Pale yellow, watery. White pepper and peaches on the nose, more pepper on the palate with fresh green fruits (apples and pears). A pretty and enjoyable wine.

Glowing lemon colour. Piercing, aromatic nose, slightly spicy, with citrus, flowers, and something deeper and slighty meaty. Very similar taste, plenty of complexity, sweetish fruit and tangy acidity, with the same aromatic quality. This is interesting, but I'm not sure whether I like it. With the right food (say, spiced crab cakes), it might be perfect. On its own, it's maybe just a bit too forceful and scented. Not boring, though. Tesco, around £6.50.

nice golden hue color. quick sharp acid note upon initial taste followed by mineral, unripened grapefruit & lime then ends on a short very tart finish.

My initial impression was very light golden color, clean but slightly water mouthfeel. There was a little toasted almond on the nose, pears in the middle, and a nice tinge of green apple acidity on the finish. Nice wine and accurate representation of Gruner but the wateriness just didn't do it for me.

Nice aromas of fruit and surprisingly a beefy/oily component that was foreign to me. Good acid, crisp, decent finish. Went well with pasta and tomato sauce with Italian turkey sausage. My first bottle of Grüner Veltliner was reasonably successful.

Very light yellow with little aroma. However zingy and fresh in the mouth with a long spicy finish.
