2007 Burgs, round 1 (Noize): Starts relatively dark and strict but with around 30 minutes in the glass this wine began to sing. Black fruit, quite mineral and not much tertiary development: at the beginning of a long drinking window. Has the stature of a grand cru.

Bought on release and stored in a passive cellar. Decanted two hours. Outstanding bottle, drinking on point with great depth, wonderful balance. Dark cherry, herbs, forest and mushroom. Above what I expected given the vintage and wish I had more.

Still primary, ripe mixed fruit, strawberry, raspberry, dark berry, stony, a little animal, intense and sappy. Super delicious, but needs time for complexity. Earth and dried spices emerged with time.

Dark burgundy color with more body fullness than expected. Gamy, mushroomy earth on the nose with leathery sweetness on the palate. Really satisfying stuff.

Nose of coffee, red fruit, herbal notes (Robitussin-esque), earth. Complex and really interesting.
Dark fruit, concentrated, nice acid, spice, good length. A hair too much oak on the end but I'd hope this will integrate with time. Quite nice and delicious.

Deep red to rim. Nice but reticent nose of dark fruit and earth. Zippy palate with nice pinot flavors with a touch of plum note. Tannins not obtrusive. Should improve with age, very good now and a worthy effort for the vintage.

Despite being a big wine this is drinking perfectly now. The complexity isbeautifully resolved into a well balanced wine with deep fruit taste and a lovely long finish

Dark ruby red. Nose of plum, dark fruit, spice. A distinctive palate with mineral, mint, dark fruit, earth notes. Good acid balance, melting tannins. A very interesting wine that is a bit on the heavy side for Burgundy, but certainly not in a new world direction. Has many years left.

Brambly, bacon, singed Pinot. Rustic, classic - I like this but it's a little simple.
